ANTHONY JOSHUA insists he won't lash out at Jarrell Miller as he prepares to become part of Madison Square Garden history as he knows the fight would be cancelled if he lost his temper. The WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO heavyweight champion defends his titles against the American at the iconic venue in New York on June 1. Click Here To Read More]
AJ sounds like a philosopher-boxer and at the same time a primary school teacher. Did Wilder says that he's going back to the basics? There it is, he has a teacher... Sign up that form and Go to the classroom son
AJ is 1/9 to win, Miller is 16/2. Don't expect Joshua to lose but there's always a chance for an upset ko with the big lads. Might be worth a little flutter
I support AJ's career growth but this looks like a calculated risk that I am willing to take.
Agreed, we don’t know what’s going to happen. Intersting thing is I’ve never seen big baby hurt....I’ve never seen him tired...I’ve never seen himnout of his depth or control. Now Joshua has had much better competition for sure but there are many examples in boxing history where talent level and style matchup trumped experience. The question really is whether or not big baby’s talent can overcome Joshua’s experience at the top level. Joshua has shown he can get tired and he can be hurt. It will be intersting to see what kind of a strategy big baby will employ because there in lies the key to this fight
That is what is so intriguing. Can Miller withstand Joshua's big right hand? Can Joshua keep up a quick pace? Will the fight last long enough for it to matter? Really looking forward to this one!
Say what you will about AJ, but in all likelihood you are looking at somebody who will be as dominant as Klitschko. And, of course, in 5 years people will be convincing each other that the division was weak and that's why AJ is so dominant.
I don't agree on this being an easy fight for Joshua. All he has to do is box? His head is always right there to be clipped. Miller has hand speed and when he is set and throws his shots, enough power is there. I guess we will see on June 1st!Yes, Miller has hand speed but not a lot of power. He is a slow plodder who eats punches and throws high volume of arm punches. Moreover, his punches doesn't have a lot of snap or pop on them either. He typically wears his opponents down with an accumulation of shots with a high workrate and cardio conditioning.

As other people have said it is an interesting fight precisely because we don't really know what Miller can do at this level.
At heavyweight anyone can be hurt. We do know that Klitschko has serious power and that Whyte has serious power and AJ has survived being clipped by them. The question is whether a fighter is sound and smart. I think AJ is but we shall see.
What is absolutely clear is that AJ has serious power. Anyone he connects with is out of there pretty fast. He is explosive and heavy handed. If Miller has defensive weaknesses AJ will find them, he's a thinking fighter. And if he finds them he will hurt Miller. I don't think anyone can take those shots. So I expect AJ to finish him, probably around 8.
should be a good scrap, aj will win but it wont be easy, good luck to both fighters, we will not see the fights we want to see until maybe 2021 or late 2020.
Money will do that I suppose. I learned early on I would make more money in the USA and have a higher standard of living than I would have in the uk and my lady has learned that too. We still keep property in the GM area...but the USA is where it’s at. Now I don’t make sports athlete money but it is no surprise that Joshua looked at what he was really making and compared it to what he could be making and put his silly attempt at colonial minded nationalism aside and came to the USA.He said he was impressed by MSG watching Canelo vs. Fielding! Doesn't he train Miami?
Spoken like a true champ. Respect.
If Deyonce talked this way instead of shouting '50/50, 4 hunnit years, baby oil, I can avoid dangerous fighters for 2 years' then maybe he would have more fans and he would be the A side.
Miller is just a stepping stone to a bigger fight, but he is a live dog at least and knocking him out at MSG in front of his own crowd will solidify AJ in prime position.
Deyonce v Breazeale and Fury v Schwarz does nothing for those guys.
I have to agree with you here. Wilder is probably going to get a bit of a fight from Breazeale but he ultimately wins by KO. And Fury is just trying to stay in shape and stay relevant by fighting Schwartz. AJ is facing the most danger. It’s a huge night of boxing in nyc because baby is from Brooklyn. Baby is also a legitimate contender who I’d favor against both breazeale and fury. I favor AJ in this bout, but there’s risk there.

Big Baby has handled guys like Washington, Wach and Duhaupas fairly easily so he's clearly above that level but I think Joshua is going to be too fast and explosive for him.

Anthony Joshua says he’s ‘not interested’ in coming to U.S.
Joshua (21-0, 20 KO) was asked in his post-fight interview in the ring, “Are you interested in trying to conquer America?”
His reply was blunt.
“No,” he said. “All these years, the UK fighters have had to go to America, everyone had to spend a heap of money to go to Vegas. We can do it in London around Wembley, Cardiff. It’s local. We’re staying right here. We’re staying right here.”

This is very easy fight for AJ. All Joshua has to do is to box. Be smart and don't allow Miller to get inside of his head and throw him off his game by getting into a slug fest; Where he expends a lot of energy and stamina. That's what Miller wants. He wants a fast paced physical fight fight.
All AJ has to do is take his time and be patient. If the knockout is available then he should go for it but if not, then he's the champion; So he should just win this fight comfortably on points and on the scorecards.

The fans that have never fought a day in life shut thu
Big Baby is a live dog here if his defense is tight and he's gotten rid of those bad habits where he tends to walk in with hands down and every now and then one slips through but with less pop than AJ has. Miller is big and strong and conditioned with good rhythm so that's a problem for any heavyweight no matter which time period you happen to be in. Don't bet against a motivated Big Man!
