Looking at the guys resume, the only two ppl I recognise are George Groves (at late stages of his career) and Hassan N'Dam (who went up from 160). I watched the Ryder fight, he did not win that fight. So I'm going to be generous and rate him somewhere between 5-10 at SMW.

Lopez won, without a doubt, 7-5 or even 8-4 in my books, but it's not as if Lomo didn't close stronger and not as if Lopez blew him out of the water. Lopez does deserve all the credit in the world, no doubt about that. I'm just curious why nobody thinks a rematch would be worth it - surely it would be a different fight, with either Lomo continuing on as he left the later rounds or Lopez stepping up a gear and even stopping Lomo.. Unless Loma himself doesn't feel like he wanted it, but with most wording being "he started too late", why not start earlier next time and make it a better show.

I'm keen on this fight... good for Wilder as well as he can make some cash. Before AJ first fight with Ruiz, I has AJ KO'ing Wilder, and that obviously changed, but then after his rematch with Ruiz I still have AJ KO'ing Wilder... My reason for this prediction is AJ now has shown some ring IQ and he can bang, and we have seen Wilder always gets tagged. Nobody seems to be talking about this match up. Or does Wilder go after Dillian Whyte?

Ask yourself.. Why or how could a UFC fight on *PPV* of a main event where both fighters have a combined record of 54 wins and 24 losses be a much bigger draw? I think it's because just about anybody who knows boxing knows that the Canelo fight is either fixed or not a real legit fight!

Like seriously, he's a good fighter, but he lost to GGG twice and I'm not even sure he won tonight (but was close). I can't believe the amount of either one-eyed or bias people on here...I'd love to see him actually win a fight clearly, but until now I haven't and that's when I can't rate a fighter in the top of any rankings... yet I see ppl writing about his "resume" and him being a P4P fighter, FML am I drunk or am I just dumb. His best wins are against Liam Smith, Amir Khan, Rocky Who? Fielding and James Kirkland, just about every other "win" was not a win!

It's either that or fellow fighters seem to not like GGG. I'm sick of hearing all of these ex fighters talk about "mexican style, they said this and that, bla bla bla" .. since when is a fight ever judged that way? Abel Sanchez said this, GGG said that, .... how the frack is that a justification from a "Pundit" for Canelo ?

... he'd be the biggest draw card in boxing. The way he boxes and totally mesmerizes his opponents whilst himself getting hit a bit would have made him a billionaire. Unfortunately because he's not American he has to do double or triple just to get a mention. Look at Crawford, fantastic fighter who has beaten....who? Postol is his best win and just because he's an American some people say he's number 1 P4P.

He just made himself 10 million plus whilst never being anywhere near physically capable to be fighting. He conned us all. To his credit though he did take a couple beatings for us to see at least.

I'm a big hater of rematches after dodgy decisions. So if Canelo and Oscar are honorable people, why not offer the rematch in GGG's backyard (like this was in Canelo's backyard)? Yeah thats right - fkn insane to think that possible! Looking forward to seeing GGG take on BJS in December. He may retire after that.

I'm curious to know what is the biggest financial fight this year from a projected earnings perspective. I know we used to base it off PPV buys but obviously there are new models and a lot of big fights in Europe seem to be doing big revenue. I was gobsmacked to find out that the GGG vs Jacobs fight was sold to 100 countries (due to GGG big following in Asia) and I know the German shows on FTA used to get 10s of millions of viewers (so those rights must have been worth heaps). So thus far would it be safe to assume the following are the biggest fights of the year financially? 1. AJ vs Wlad 2. Canelo vs Chavez Jr 3. GGG vs Jacobs 4. Haye vs Bellew 5. Ward vs Kovalev II I'd love if anybody could break down how earnings are calculated.

I'm coming to the US of A this weekend and will arrive an hour or so before the main event. Do all pubs and bars show HBO PPV fights? Would that include hotel bars? For the record I'll be in Fort Lauderdale.

Just watched some of his highlights and I just imagine if this guy operated in the new information age, of 2010 onwards.....his style of fighting and the KO's he was handing out for fun surely would have made him hundreds of millions... i suppose not being American would have perhaps suppressed his earning power but i still believe he would have been a HUGE PPV star and would have been earning 50 million plus for his fights.

Am I missing something ?? Froch was trying to get JCC Jr and now is talking up a fight with GGG. GGG is a middleweight and would have to move up 8 pounds... If Froch is trying to have one last big fight, then why isn't he himself looking at a super fight with Kovalev or even perhaps Adonis Stevenson. I think a Froch vs Kovalev fight would be huge $$$ wise... so why wouldn't he want it? Or is it a simple case of he wants his cake and wants to eat it too (fighting a smaller fighter)?

Sorry, I'm open to correction, but I just find it illogic to compare what Pacman earns to other - eg Mayweather. I can never see it barely possible that Pacman as a non American to have the draw power of a local - no chance. I could never see Pacman getting more PPV buys if he fought in the UK than Khan or Froch either, its just logic to me. So I'd really appreciate thoughts from others - am I wrong??

I liked his fight, he looked impressive, but he didn't look like a perfect boxer to me. Very impressive with his power and composure etc, but at the end of the day we saw one fight of him against another boxer who we didn't know either. He deserves credit and a shot at a title, but to date he still hasn't beaten a top ten fighter - so let's just keep monitoring him until then. Stop mentioning the Wards, Frochs, Martinez, etc. as he hasn't reached that level yet. Let's not turn this guy into another Juanma Lopez, etc where we all fooled ourselves into thinking he'd be 10x World Champ by now!

the past few weeks all i have read is people hating on Vic. the one most noticeable thing to me was that every one was hating on him, yet nobody was giving him credit. 1. The guy was already a champ 2. The guy didn't need the Mijares fight - he could have fought lesser opponents 3. He could have taken less risks and earnt more money long term 4. He did talk a lof of shit, but never was it personal insults. None of you haters for one second said, 'hey wait a minute, let's give the guy some credit for pushing for this fight - the fight that is very high risk for him.' All I can say to you guys now is repent...thats it, come out and say the guy could have taken a lot easier path, but chose to challenge the best with high risk with his 'limited abilities'. Congrats Vic - win/lose/draw I was one of the few giving you credit.

I missed the fight. Sounds like he got "woken up" early on to come back hard, and then got too confident. I'm curious as to whether his performance will raise his stock and have him rated as overhyped. Comments please.

And seeing that agreeably he didn't have much to offer technically, etc, I give him credit for becoming World Champion and for defending his title many times...not to mention always being entertaining for boxing fans. Stop this hate shit...give some people credit where due and at least thank them for their efforts!

I can't understand Taylor saying that Spinks ran all night and that he couldn't fight.... I've lost respect for Taylor and his camp quite considerably after this.......... As if Jermain Taylor and his camp did NOT know that Spinks was going to run....since when has Spinks fought otherwise..
