I'm keen on this fight... good for Wilder as well as he can make some cash.
Before AJ first fight with Ruiz, I has AJ KO'ing Wilder, and that obviously changed, but then after his rematch with Ruiz I still have AJ KO'ing Wilder...
My reason for this prediction is AJ now has shown some ring IQ and he can bang, and we have seen Wilder always gets tagged.
Nobody seems to be talking about this match up.
Or does Wilder go after Dillian Whyte?
He got wobbled and hurt by a Fury jab. There’s a reason he ducked Joshua and it’s because of the glass jaw. Joshua isn’t that good IMO but wins inside two rounds. Hits hard and when you hit hard against a talentless China chinned bum you got a good shot.
I’ll admit I am a big wilder fan. It was tough to watch last night. Fury showed another level to his game. I don’t think there’s much shame in Deontay losing last night. No one ever thought he would stay undefeated forever.
I still think wilder knocks out AJ after Some struggles. But I also think Fury stops AJ and stays king of the division for a while.
Wilder vs anyone is always an entertaining fight you can’t count him out yet.
Don't bother with logic, man. They're going to use last night as an excuse to say Joshua would always beat Wilder.
Nah that’s not the logic. The logic is AJ has always wanted an undisputed fight. Wilder never did. Fury does. End of story.
Yeah it'd be brilliant.
Also Fury is an enigma.
No guarantees we see him back in the ring which will change things. He might think $28 million plus in the bank. He lives in Morcambe. He could buy Morcambe now, build a wall around it and be an actual King, ffs.
He's got himself together, 5 kids, a good family and wife and he's transcended the sport in this country now. He could do wrestling, have his own reality to show (had a 3 parter on television over here), become an ambassador for mental health. He likes the after dinner stuff. Everyone would like him as a pundit. He's a celebrity here now.
31 years old. All his marbles. As for as prizefighting goes he's done it.
Fury couldn't spend the money he's made in a 100 lifetimes.
I think it's a fun competitive fight still. I was 50/50ish on the fight & still am. AJ can't fight on the inside as well as Fury did so The Blueprint to beat Deontay isn't as accessible for him. And idk that AJ takes punches as well as Fury either. I think the one or 2 good shots Deontay landed on Fury last night would have hurt, dropped or changed AJ's energy to a more careful less aggressive energy that would have kept Deontay in the fight & perhaps winning.
Don't bother with logic, man. They're going to use last night as an excuse to say Joshua would always beat Wilder.
Wilders only value to AJ was that WBC strap.
He messed up. Could have cleared $120 million by now but took an L for far less. Even with AJ losing to Ruiz Wilder still would have had the fight. One tuneup for $40 million then AJ/Wilder after AJ won the rematch in December.
Could still happen but Wilder is going to learn the consequences of losing his leverage.
