Pretty boy with elements of flashy hands and good KOs, surrounded by ppl calling him King whilst having serious flaws and a glass chin?
Ryan does have his share of flaws, but I am not buying the glass chin moniker. The knockdown by Campbell was an overhand shot on the button as they say and the first time Ryan had ever been knocked down. To his credit, he got up and fought aggressively. Ryan does have a lot of defensive flaws and will be knocked down again unless he makes quick corrections. The knockdowns, if they happen, will be because of poor defense and other mistakes and not because he has some sort of glass chin.
Even if he is the next Amir Khan (I don't think he is), what is wrong with that? Khan was in some very exciting fights and beat some quality fighters along the way. Garcia has his flaws but dude is young, fast and has very good power. And more importantly, he WANTS to be great and take on all the top names. What is there to not like?
Pretty boy with elements of flashy hands and good KOs, surrounded by ppl calling him King whilst having serious flaws and a glass chin?He might not have a glass chin. He got up quickly from the knockdown and did not seem hurt. Khan threw lots of punches that missed. Garcia seems more accurate with his punches and has more punching power. He has 18 KO wins in 21 fights and that is a lot more KO wins than Khan had in his first 21 fights. Time and future fights will tell if he is another Khan type fighter or not. Khan actually had a pretty good career overall and is a very rich man.
khan got dropped several times before the prescott fight where he was actually KO'd. so he had been knocked down to get up and win too. we just have to wait to see if garcia has his own breidis prescott.
the way he went down vs a guy who is not a puncher is a bad sign. but hey, we are haters i guess.
Garcia got chin tested and passed. He got hit with a big shot right on the button, and got back up, recovered quickly and won the fight by KO. Amir Khan has serious punch resistance problems. It's no comparison.
He's far more dangerous that Khan. He has legit one punch KO power and crazy hand speed. He's therefore always going to be dangerous whoever he fights. He also seems to recover better from shots.
Khan more speed (the fastest hands at 147 I've ever seen in his prime) Garcia has the edge in power, Garcia has more composure and likely a better chin. Khan still had a good career. Garcia is likely better, but he's in and around very though guys of a similar age in his division(s)
People say a 5 ft 3 guy (Tank) wouldn't beat 5 ft 10 Garcia, but I'd pick Tank by KO any day. Height does not win fights. That myth has been going to discredit taller guys (generally HW) for too long. Ability wins fights.
I like Garcia, and he should be allowed to be a legend by winning 5 and losing 5 in 10 fights vs top guys like the "legends" from the older eras, but in this day and age, if anyone loses one fight, even at the elite level, they are a bum and nothing compared to fighters with 15 losses from the past.
That's why current guys can never be rated as highly as ones from the "golden eras" by the majority of fans. As I mentioned once on here, Joe Frazier (legend, right?) He wouldn't be if he lost to Foreman by round 2 brutalization in this day and age. He'd just be an overrated bum.
Modern-day fighters are held to impossible standards.

- -What, he turned down a date wif U candyboy proposal and now U in tears?
Khan was good in his prime, very good, his IQ was not the best though. I think his chin was ok early on but he got more fragile, but he fought them all. He has a pretty good resume i would say.
Flashes of greatness with plenty of holes and that's where I see Garcia going. I can just not see Garcia making the big improvements he would need, just watching him throw that body shot was awesome but in the same stanza he walks into Campbell and has his head up on a flagpole with no gloves up defending...
Amir Khan was a pin up boy and so is Garcia as of now.

write us another novel, you casual-fan fukwit... about the ATG boogieman, butterbean... who everyone ducked LMAO :lol1:
I don't really see any similarities between them
Garcia is still a kid... he has heaps of development potential in front of him, and he is exactly where he should be to bring that out
this is akin to phrenology, but Ryan Garcia's head shape (small and weak jaw line, seems to have an overbite issue) doesn't give me confidence that he can take clean shots from the big punchers. His first step up in competition and he nearly got knocked out cold but credit to him for regrouping.
