Whoever voted "Yes" should stop being fans of fights and fighters.
The ref didn't think it needed to be stopped and neither did Paulie.
He could of survived until the finally bell and he wasn't allowed.
I want to know how many Americans voted for this shit "YES" and how may Europeans as well.
Man Up
i voted yes and I'm a fan of "fights". What I watched last night was not a fight. Buddy did the right thing.
Paul Banke was absolutely the nicest fighter I ever met. He had so many personal problems, but fought hard to get rid of them. His mother was a sweetheart as well. I last spoke to Paul on christmas day quite a few years ago. He just dissapeared and I have not been able to locate him. I fear the worst, but hope for the best.
He was a very humble and soft spoken gentleman.
I swear you whiteboys on the internet are completely divorced from reality!
i just noticed this jewel. How did you follow up a nice thought with this stupid comment?
kill whitey!!!
Dave, I with you 100% on that notion. Tim should have been Larry's successor and he and Tyson should have had an Ali-Frazier type of rivalry, IMO; but Tim was always "terrible" with his conditioning. Damn shame; he had so much talent.
now I'm really getting irritated.
as it was, we were still only one Boneclutcher right hand away from a Tyson-Spoon showdown. Back in the day, I always thought Spoon would have given Tyson fits if in shape.... During the Tyson domination days when he was looking quite ordinary against the likes of Tucker and Clutcher I was telling people that Spoon would be the guy who would dethrone Tyson. Of course that never happened becuase of Spoon's troubles with Don King and his troubles putting the fork down.
Tommy was a very skilled fighter with power. To say he was great or even close to it is incorrect. He was fun to watch and I actually like the guy. His lack of chin, stamina and dedication proved to be his downfall.
I always looke forward to his fights becuase they were usually exciting.
I was watching this fight tonight and I was so piss off how the judges gave the fight to mosley. I had the fight 8 rounds to 4 for oscar. What do u guys think?
Oscar absolutely won that fight
I'd say a repeat of Witherspoon-Bruno isn't out of the question in that scenario, honestly.
exactly what would happen..
Witherspoon is another guy that irritates me everytime i think about him. He is one that could have been great if he had the dedication.
even after the baldomir destruction of gatti..i still think gatti can beat hatton..would u watch the fight?
I would only watch them in a Beer chugging contest....Hatton by TKO in 10(10 beers that is)

What a ninth round in Holmes v Spoon. Tim had Holmes going, but Holmes showed why he was great and came back swinging.
your getting me all fired up Dogg!!!
How does idiots like you even manage to turn on a comnputer? Listen you moron! You won't get away with blowing someone's skills out of proportion just because they are white. How many times did this mediocre great white hope get koed before the HIV results? I swear you whiteboys on the internet are completely divorced from reality!
If it wasn't for Micheal Bentt, he would have been king! :D
and if I recall, Lewis knocked his ass out.
mercer would of killed bruno.
riddick bowe said herbie hide was the hardest puncher he ever faced by far
I'm not doubting that Fat Daddy said that, but that is ridiculous.
Mine are Jim Lamply and Merchant, what are your favorites,
I also like Al berntsien(spelling)
my all time favorite team is Tim Ryan and Gil Clancy.
my favorite right now is Barry Tompkins and Rich Marotta.
I used to really like Alex Wallau as well.
Lampley has been doing fill in for Romey for years. Rome is one of the few radio guys that talks boxing on a consistent basis. Lampleys show are always good. He is actually kind of funny.
I've been listening to Romey since the scrub saturday shows in from San Diego in 93-94. Not so much anymore becuase that whole job thing gets in the way. Catch him at Lunchtime when I can
I would just leave boxers or trainers in there, like George, Lennox, or Manny.
I thought Lampley/Merchant were terribly boring and missed the shifting momentum of the Maskaev-Rahman fight. They missed the entire fight with their vacuous commentaries.
I don't mind Lampley becuase of his excitement. Merchant is the one who needs to go. He drags on with 10 minute sentences..it's painful to hear. The freakin guy must be 80 years old.
I think Lennox is actually improving. He was horrible initially, but has made steady improvement. I don't think he said "absolutely" one time yesterday.:)
some excellent posts here, it seems like whenever I talk about Hagler anywhere else the FIRST thing people bring up is the infamous Leonard fight. It's sad really
please don't say the "L" word..it makes me emotional :D
I can't believe what I'm reading here. Using his fights with KT,DLH and Whitiker as reasons he isn't great? That is absolutely crazy. Chavez was in higher weight classes than his prime or old and grey. When he fought KT and DLH, he wasn't half the fighter he once was. Losing a decision to Whitiker at any stage of a career is nothing to be ashamed of. You guys need to pull out the old tapes of his domination at his natural weight classes. (130-135)His body attack was devestating. His chin was granite. Did he fight bums? Of course he did, but if you call JCC anything but great, you are misinformed or haven't watched anything but the above mentioned bouts.
I'm picking Gatti to win by KO. I would love to see win this. I'll be there live saturday night hopefully watching Gatti get those belts.
going to a Gatti fight in Jersey must be like an Elvis concert. Have fun...I am certainly jealous!
I was on the Miguel Cotto website and they are talking about an article on b********.com that says that Trinidad making an offer with a 50/50 split at 160 to DLH. I dont have a subscription to that website so I can't see exactly what it says but from what I got from the cotto website, this is to show that DLH is the one that does not want the fight and all he has done is talk crap. They are changing their 7 year standing offer to this new one. There you go guys, what do you think?
Beating Trinidad would mean nothing at this point for DLH. It makes zero sense. Tito couldn't win a round against Wright.
The only fight that makes sense for Oscar is P4P. other than that, stay retired.
