What boxers, trainers etc have u met in your life? In person, of course. And who left the biggest impression on you, who was the coolest, friendliest, etc/
I have only met Lucian Bute when i went to montreal. I'm Romanian also and we talked 1 minute he had to go.
Prince Naseem - Met through Ryan Rhodes. Got his gumshield after training. Don't know why, but its Memoribilia i guess. :?!:
Carl Froch - Met him in Nottingham Forest FC post match lounge a few times. Nice man too speak to no matter how cocky he seems.
Ryan Rhodes - Former British Light Middleweight champ - The man even let me drive his car. Top kid.
Jason Booth - Former IBO Super Flyweight champ
Nicky Booth - Former British Bantamweight champ
Wayne Rigby - Former WBF Light Welterweight champ - Sparred with him twice in 2004, coinciding with 2 losses. :ugh: Oh Well. Nice man, funny as hell.

Well, too many to count really....
damn...you are living my dream. I just graduated with a journalism degree and I would love to be a boxing writer...The only fighter I have interviewed and done a story on though is UFC fighter Andrei Arlovski. How did you get the gig?
4 the JOE FRAZIER fan... you would love the story in my book....but I will overview it for u here.... a couple years ago I walked into Joe's gymto talk toMarvis (we're friends)...asked how his pop was...told me I could go up to his office and say hello...he told his pop "scully came to say hello" I met him a few times before, no idea if he knew me by name tho...either way, ended up sitting with him for about a full hour talking about all kinds of stuff...cool day
I envy you. Joe is not just a great fighter but a great person as well. They saying "he'd take his shirt off his back for you" really applies to Frazier.

I met and trained in the same gym with Saul Mambay, Luis Resto, Juan LaPorte and Daniel Alicea.. also my father is friends with Antonio "Chelo" Diaz and Jose "Chegui" Torres. Chelo has a restaurant in Brooklyn and my father used to chill with him frequently there, also my father grew up with Chegui in Puerto Rico.. also I went to school with Camacho's brother and I saw Hector a few times while I was on the bus, he lives in my area so I would usually catch him around, even though I'm cool with his brother I never got a chance to meet him but my aunt, my cousin and a few friends in a nearby Tattoo parlor know him personally and got me an autograph..
I only SAW Trinidad but I never met him and this was in the Puerto Rican day parade, he got off the float and I spotted some members of my gym with his entourage so I told them to call Trinidad over and they did, I saw his face clearly but I wasn't close enough to shake his hand.. I missed a BIG chance to meet him the 2 weeks he was stuck in NY at the time of 9/11 though, I wrote about that somewhere on here and till this day people still talk about that.. 100
Edit: how could I forget this.. I saw Jackie Frazier, Marvis Frazier and Joe Frazier in the state building a few years back, they were hyping up the Laila Ali fight and there was a ring set up where a few people fought but no notable names, mostly females but them fights was good money. it was an outdoor event..
jesus christ your only just old enough to buy a drink! fair play to you mate, you obviously know your onions!
Legally, I have to wait until March to buy drinks. Boxing keeps my mind fresh and my spirit goal-oriented, it's been very healthy for me.
Asian, have you interviewed all of them or just met them?
I've interviewed most, if not all of them. It all depends on the situation, but I like to talk to all of them to get a feel for their energy.
I really wish I could remember all of the guys that I've met. It's just been a blur this last year and a half, I can't even possibly recall.
Of the coolest people I've met, I'd say Kassim Ouma, Jerson Ravelo, Ricardo Mayorga, Jaidon Codrington, Paulie Malignaggi, and Zab Judah.
Look up "Who is Ryan Songalia" at the top of my sig.

Mark Breland
I had a chance to do that at a Chazz Witherspoon fight, but I opted instead to stay local in Jersey for another commitment. I would love to meet Joe Frazier and Ali.
I hear you can still find Joe messing around at old junkyards in downtown Philly. One day I'm going to take some time off and go looking. It's funny, almost everybody in my family has seen or met him. But none of them followed boxing or his career the way I have. They don't understand how deeply appreciative of him I am.
