Herrera is seriously obsessed with Danny. He just wants attention at this point.
Would you stay quiet if you were in his position?
Nothing wrong with him talking down on Danny and his team. They probably cost him a good chunk of change by robbing him of the best win of his career. He is also being brushed off, as they're trying to make Peterson-Garcia, and painting it as the two best at the weight.
Sure, he's had a lot of support, but his resume is great considering his age. He's on a similar path to Chavez Sr was at the same age.
The controversy surrounding the Lara fight is overstated. They landed close to the same amount of punches; although one guy did it on his back foot, the other while going forward.
Even though he got complacent in the trout fight, it was clear whose punches were doing the most damage and, at least to me, who won more rounds.
The performance he should be most embarrassed about is the Mayweather fight. He admitted that Floyd's punches didn't hurt but he failed to get inside. Maidana has less tools physically but he almost beat Mayweather in his first fight with him, and was on pace to make an even better account for himself in the second fight; Bayless took him out of the fight. Had Canelo shown up with Robert Garcia's game plan, I think he would've beaten Mayweather.
I thought Khan's life goal was to be a huge star in America? He seems to have fallen off that path since Haymon began dangling the Mayweather fight in his face. He should take this fight; he is the better fighter at this point and Guerrero doesn't have the one-shot power to stop him.
Great fight for Khan.
I like Pauli's points but don't think this fight should be like every other fight when in comes to negotiations, and it won't be. Pac/TR are giving up some of their leverage by making it clear that they want the fight, but they've decided that it's the only way they can get it to happen.
As far as the actual fight goes, I think the matchup is much more intriguing than he's making it sound. Floyd's great but Pac is a master in his own right.
I thought it was. He got caught early, thought he was fine, and he tried to bounce back up too soon. Had he gathered himself for a few seconds, I think he would've been able to continue.
Trolling aside, the shameless cash-grab that was billed as "the fight of the century" is easily #1. Nothing comes close.
Who remembers the" undercard"? ***** was just 2 champions sent to toy with sparring partners for as long as they could drag it out.
Khan was getting bullied by Algieri for a lot of their fight.
He won't be able to use the clinch game on a guy so much stronger than him.
Canelo's skills, timing, and speed are underrated.
There's no way he wins.
Although this may not be the best case scenario for Haymon he does benefit. Khan is, or has the potential to be, the biggest star on his stable by a wide margin -- and even he isn't drawing huge ratings for PBC. A PPV fight with the biggest star in boxing gives his potential superstar the highest level of exposure currently possible. If Khan even puts up a decent fight, which I believe he should, it'll elevate the interest in any of his upcoming matchups.
Canelo isn't as" limited" as people are making him out to be. He fought a faster guy so he looked slow -- when he fought Angulo, he looked pretty fast.
He just beat the guy that was probably the worst style matchup he'll ever have... And he did so without a real strategy.
I'm convinced a new trainer would suit him well.
Gamboa is done as an elite fighter. That will be clear after the Crawford fight, IMO... He's a lightweight anyway.
Donaire is damaged.
Rigo would be a chess match of the highest level. Close decision for either is the most likely outcome.
I'm pretty surprised with how many people are acting like Cotto didn't just beat a guy on one leg. Those knockdowns were caused by him not being able to put weight on his knee. His eyes looked fine when he got up.
The fight proved nothing about Cotto.
If they're going to be competing for dates, this should mean better, riskier fights for him and Floyd. That should be all matters to us fans.
Floyd's stock is slipping, Canelo's is rising.
The Demarco fight got me, too. I actually thought Demarco could have beaten him. So when Broner won like he did, I jumped on the train -- didn't really come back off of it until the Pauli fight.
I was seriously thinking about this on my way to work this morning. Thinking about how surprised I was that GBP or TR don't jump on some of these guys. Especially when you consider the market segments these guys would revive in the states.
El Gallo Estrada and Chocolatito are 2 of the best fighters in the world and have a rematch brewing... The obsession with the WW's is getting out of hand.
Chavez's career didn't hit its stride until he was about 25. By 24, he already had close to 10 defenses of his WBC SFW belt, and a bunch of non title fights, but his most memorable fights came right after.
I thought it'd be easier to argue for Chavez but their careers, to this point, are actually comparable.... Although, I doubt they'll be so in 5 years.
... Anyone else hear Tyson saying Chavez had a good case at being TBE?
Can't forget how Bob screwed GBP with the whole Pacquiao deal. If you don't remember, Pacquiao signed a contract with GBP to fight Hoya. The deal ended up being that if Pac fought a GB fighter, GB and TR would split the rights. They fought Hatton and then went strictly in house.
I'm all for Hoya booting Schaefer, but he needs to keep Bob at arm's length if he doesn't want to be chewed up again.
I agree with the TS. Terrible fight for Marquez and his team knows it. He's been susceptible to the left hook and Prov will hit him harder with it than anyone ever has.
... Plus he won't make the mistake Alvarado made trying to box.
Win or lose, bad fight for Marquez.
He won't try to box but I'm certain he isn't gonna take those combinations better than Alvarado as he'll be aggressively coming forward, I'm certain his face is gonna be a bloody mess early, and once his line of vision is fucked he's getting stopped in the mid to late rounds.
It'd be a great fight, and as much as I'd like, I can't confidently say Marquez would win... And if he does, it won't be easy.
He has better combos than Bradley, so he should hurt Prov. He just doesn't have the reflexes to keep himself away from the flurries, IMO.
... If the odds for this fight are as expected, I'd lean towards betting on Ruslan.

Tell me he looks the same in all these photos. That fourth pacquiao fight weigh in doe..lol his power was over 9000..the mayweather one was pre-memo and the Alvarado he was tapering off, his doping was becoming too obvious.
I've seen bigger changes in people who did p90x.
