Why is it hard to believe that Floyd will walk Manny down? It prevents Pacquiaos straight left to hit Mayweather from a long range distance. Pac's not really an inside fighter like Mayweather is so I can see Mayweather fighting more on the inside. Pacquiao's movement will be limited if Mayweather cuts the ring off. Of course, Mayweather isn't going to fight the whole fight like that. He's going to move back as well, but I can see him walking Pac down in sections of the fight.
$40m + 35% of the PPV upside isn't "nothing"; heck, the $40m offered in 2012 wasn't nothing either.
If you think the Showtime offer was nothing, I'm sincerely wondering what you think is a "something" offer.
I'm going by the comments raised by Paulie and some posters who agree. Paulie said for Manny to take whatever offer he gets.
As for the $40 million and Floyd gets all PPV money, it was a joke at the time. Current rumors are just that at the moment.
lol can you imagine him praising Pacquiao through gritted teeth, the Long Islander Algieri v Pac would have been his toughest commentary gig.
Paulie would have gotten excited at anything that Algieri would have connected with but then cover it up ...... it would have been hilarious.
He's is a puppet, wtf. Maidana almost knocked floyd out cold after that 3rd round, manny takes a split decision. Floyd has no offensive output to hang with pac
Maidana landed one counter-right hand, at the bell that stopped Floyd in his tracks, and clowns like you have spun that into "OMG MAIDANA WAS JUSR ABOUT TO WRECK FLOYD !!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!! WAR PACQUIAO!!!!!!!!!"
In case you missed it, Mayweather-Maidana 2 went to a fourth round, too. Actually went on for another 8 rounds. What did Maidana do after that?
There is a difference between Manny saying that he is willing to take less compared to you thinking that means Manny should get nothing

I wonder If Showtime thinks that Floyds last two PPV'S were a flop considering there Is a rumor that suggests they lost 16 million dollars.
Is 900k considered a flop when compared to 2 million against Canelo?
Did Canelo have anything to do with the success of Floyds PPV?
Will Pacquiao have anything to do with Floyds PPV success If In fact they should ever fight? If so what Is a fair purse split?
Showtime has 6 fights to make up the +$200m payout to Floyd; you can't sit there and trumpet the Maidana fights without mentioning the massive amount of money that was brought in in the Canelo fight.
It's a turtle race; quick thinking its a race of the rabbits.
Manny and TR need to go for broke on this one. Take that 35% and run with it. If he wins he'll be able to get the Lions share on the rematch.. If no rematch, he'll be no doubt the number one draw in boxing. If he loses, oh well he still has other fights out there where he can still be the a side.
Think Paulie is frustrated with the whole thing and remember, he's represented by Al...
He's is a puppet, wtf. Maidana almost knocked floyd out cold after that 3rd round, manny takes a split decision. Floyd has no offensive output to hang with pac
He makes some fair enough points. Floyd is the A-side and Pacquaio is the B-side. That much is clear at this point in time. Maybe in 2009, it was different but it's 2014.
But this idea that Pacquaio should just accept whatever Floyd offers and "get the rematch" is ludicrous especially when we all know what Floyd's last "offer" was. You're gambling on hundreds of millions of dollars not the usual 1 million-ish paycheques that Paulie is used to.
Given his own past experiences, Paulie should know it's a lot more complicated than that.
Paulie suggested that Pac get 1/3 which is basically what Floyd said when he said that he wanted 2/3 of the revenue. Feel free to disagree, but I think that is fair. Looking at the PPV numbers Pac is steadily on the decline and does and has always done less than Mayweather when it comes to PPV sales. If this is a $200 mil plus fight then 1/3 is $66 mil plus. I think that is a fair compensation. However, all of this is just hearsay. We don't know How much will be put up for this fight, or how much it will actually generate. All of this is speculation and media hype. Until they actually sit down and negotiate then this is nothing more than boxing fans talking.
Wow, Paulie went in hard. If Paulie was doing HBO instead of Showtime, I'm sure that he would be singing a different tune.
You don't accept anything.
If Paulie was with HBO, he would have said that Floyd is losing money for Showtime, Manny is making money on his fights.

Why not accept whatever mayweather brings to the table, didn't pacquiao say he will accept anything mayweather throws at him,,and ultimatly pacquiao said that it wasn't about the money, he should be careful at what he says cause floyd will use that against him at the negotiations...so pac fans stfu about him getting 50/50 pac said it wasn't about the money

Pacquiao sold 300k buys, and Pacquiao fans have found a way to warp themselves into thinking that Pacquiao is still in the same conversation with Mayweather. lol.
When Pacquiao signs to face Jessie Vargas, I'm gonna laugh so hard watching you try to defend that garbage too
10% of the smartphone and tablet owners in China will spend half a week's wages on PPV doe. At least it is down from Top Rank's laughably optimistic projections from the Rios fight based on half the smartphone and tablet owners in China buying a PPV :lol1:
Floyd lost 15 million dollars US against Maidana, and Fliyd fans have found a way to warp themselves into thinking that Floyd is still in the same conversation with Pac. lol.
When Floyd signs to face Amir Khan, I'm gonna laugh so hard watching you try to defend that garbage too
this sounds better
If Pauly believed he was good enough, he'd negotiate the best terms that he could get and he'd take the fight, without question, imo.
$100k is what Austin Trout is likely to get for his ESPN fight coming up. The idea that you think that Malignaggi would just take ESPN money, when Star Boxing/Banner just got $1.5m to bring in Algieri and Malignaggi has a far bigger name/fight resume is laughable. The $1.5m offer is simply a realistic figure for a PPV opponent coming in with somewhat of a name.
No one is saying that Pacquiao has to fight for free; Pacquiao said that. Beyond that, Floyd isn't going to walk away with a $200m, for the simple fact that the fight is massive but not otherworldly.
For even the fighters to share $200m, the fight would probably have to do $400m on PPV, nearly three times the revenue generated for the current record.
With the actual fight now, in most bookie estimations, being 3:1 Mayweather, the idea that the boxing audience is going to pay triple in revenues for the fight is laughable.
60-40 would be a fair purse for Pacquiao-Marquez 5.
there's no way that 60-40 is fair after Pacquiao drew a rumored 400k PPV buys for the Rios fight and a rumored 300k PPV buys for the Algieri fight, while Floyd had PPV "flops" of rumored 900k PPV buys for the two Maidana fights.
