I think anyone who says yes needs to watch a lot more boxing before commenting on something like this.
Judah got up and his legs were gone and flying all over the place, he fell flat on his stomach and the ref waved it off like he should. He got up to his feet but his legs still weren't under him and if the ref wasn't holding onto his arms he would have fell back into the ropes.
Good stoppage.
If you can't stand up when no one is hitting you, you probably can't stand when someone is. I had no problem with that stoppage. It was Judah's own fault for getting up too early - he had been down before and knew better, but I think he was too embarrassed to take an 8 count on the floor - and it was his own fault for getting hit with the same right hand punch twice consecutively with absolutely no defense.
Hell no. If you watch the replay closely, after the ref helps him up from the chicken dance, he prevents him from falling a third time. If the ref wasn't holding his arms up he would've been on his ass.
I think Nady should have let Zab get back up before he stopped the fight. The count would have only been at like 5 at the time. Zab just popped up way too fast the first time. There have been plenty of boxers who have looked that bad and were not counted out.
Stoppage was premature imo, he should've counted the whole 8 and then asked him if he can continue, once zab fell the second time the ref stopped it very early, also the round was over so he wasn't in danger if his legs were a bit wobbly, ref should've counted to 8.
What I can't recall though is why a rematch never happened? Thqt would've been huge!
Zab told KT, "no rematch at all". He was so confident he was going to beat KT. Best part was KT saying afterwards, "no rematch just like he wanted."
Let me first say that...I f*ckin' hate Jay Nady, he's a piece of sh1t. Every fight that I watch him ref, he has this sh1tty ass authoritarian attitude like he has a stick up his ass. He's a miserable prick.
Having said that, I think Judah should have been given the full 10 count by Nady instead of quickly calling it off like he did. It was a flash knockdown and Judah clearly got up too quickly and as a result wasn't on good footing. If Nady continued to count to 10 (as he should have) Zab may or may not have made the count. In any event, the ref should give the fighter that opportunity.
judah got up too quickly because he got hit so cleanly he didnt know wtf he was doing and the referee isnt thinking "oh its the end of the round , he can get another minute to recover"
hes thinking "i gotta protect judahs safety, he is not making good judgements"
It's the rules, if you get KDed get up and fall over again then the fight is called off.
Zab would of been ktfo if they let it continue.
no
you dont get up then go back down
good stoppage

Exhibit A, this is what a ref should do if a fighter rises, then falls down:
Zab's head was still in it, but his legs werent. The fight was stopped just in time as it should have. Zab blew it..he had that fight and got reckless.
This...that's why it was the right call. That and Tsyzu would have took Zabs head off if it continued.
If he continued Zab would have been decapitated.

Nady is a prick but I don't think he a choice after Zab fell down the second time.
Zab was going to crumble in that fight anyway and KT would have stopped him eventually.
IF Zab took the 8 count on a knee it would probably would of continued. But he tried to stand up too fast and went parallel with the ground so it was rightly called off.
I always thought the ref stopped it too soon.
Judah had to take some of the blame because he tried to get right back up instead of taking a few seconds gather his senses. I think it's that pride with boxers sometimes that get KD and try to get jump right back to show their not hurt
But I never really liked that stoppage
You knew the stoppage was good when Zab Judah STILL couldn't stand on his own to protest to Jay Nady and for a moment the only thing keeping his quivering knees from buckling yet again was Nady holding him up.
The comparison to Berbick/Tyson seems silly because I would have had no problem with the ref stopping that one sooner either.
EDIT: In seeing this again, I'm remembering just how bad a decision it was to get up immediately. The bell would have rung during the count and he'd be able to follow that up with a minute on the stool to possibly return to his senses.
