Fights who remind you of yesterday's fighters...the tricks, moves and fighting style..the kind where you could post their fight in black and white and people would think it was an old school ATG fighting
Tim Bradley should be on that list.
This was the first fighter that came to my mind..
Bradley looks like he trains till exhaustion.. Hes fun to watch and train..
Im always going to be a fan..
The main difference stylistically between yesteryear and today is simple. They have taken a lot of the infighting out of it.
So basically, look at your brawler types and there are your "throw-backs".
There were technical boxers in all eras obviously though.
toney
hopkins
golovkin
chocolatito gonzalez
rigondeaux
algieri (not the top notch boxer but his style is SO old school)
PS honorable mentions: broner is humping his opponents like dwight muhammad qawi LOL! and pacquiao's offense reminds me of aaron pryor, plus they are both very small
These guys are different styles but they remind me of guys that could fight in pre-PPv days
Hopkins
Ggg
Kovolev
Marquez
Roman Gonzalez
Froch
Floyd
Manny
Kirkland
Thurman
Cotto
A few technical guys, but mostly fighters that come to FIGHT every time... Guys use to come to fight every match up, but now most are content to avoid exchanges, be safe and win on points... Not a lot of guys dare to be great, unlike decades past where guys were much more willing to go for it
