I haven't even seen the fight yet I'm just saying in general these big names can hold as much as they like with out even a warning. I know complaining does fuk all but not complaining also does fuk all so may as well express my opinion on it.
molina is not a big name and gets away with excessive holding
I'm not bothered by what you're typing at all. What I'm trying to get is why exactly are his wins not impressive. He's beaten as much world class fighters as Donaire has. And even more than Rigo has.
he has but you should know that fans don't care about things like that they want to see someone do something incredible like knock someone out or completely dominate and abner has not really done that.
look at the top p4p fighters marquez has exciting ko wins over juan diaz and recently off of pacquiao floyd has made many boxers look like they do not belong in the ring with him rigo just pretty much did that to donaire and donaire has some devestating k o victories over vic and montiel but abner doesn't have wins like that as of yet plus abner fights at the lighter weights which alot of times does not get that much attention
i don't think anyone has a problem with abner i just feel like he has yet to have a great performance i think that is what keeps people from ranking him high but abner is a great fighter
For me the Deleon win was as impressive as any win Mares has had.
Props to him!
its the only impressive win to me.
most of abner other fights were close fights and then we had the issue of the low blows and i personally never thought to much of moreno i have been waiting for i fight to be reaaly impressed by abner and the de leon fight did it for me
Floyd fans are funny, claim every fight the media big up Pac's opponent. yet they do exactly that every time Floyd fights. I expected Floyd to win easy, everyone did, this was just a tune up or a showcase bout for Floyd. Like when Ali fought slow plodding Cleveland Williams. Guerrero was a tailor made guy slow, no defense, come forward.
They were saying Alvarado is a bum and they will big up Pacman's opponent to make the win look amazing, yet Guerrero isn't even on the level of a Brandon Rios or Mike Alvarado this dude getting a fight was baffling to everyone.
Guerrero was the equivalent to David Diaz win for Pacquiao, that was just a showcase fight. Guerrero was slow as molasses. The only difference was Diaz was a champion in the division, and Pacman looked better than Floyd did against Guerrero. Even when Pac outboxed Oscar, Oscar still had more speed than Robert Guerrero.
If Pacquiao whopped Guerrero or even knocked him out they would say he was TAILOR MADE for him, that Guerrero was just another slow, flat footed come forward fighter.
Yet they never say stuff like that for Floyd and claim his win was brilliant. Why not just stop with the hypocrisy?
everyone except bradley and marquez were coming off of loses or bad performances while floyds recent opponents were all coming off of very good wins
I don't know bout that there.
what win has abner had that stands out to everyone?i have always been an abner fan i'm just saying the reason he is not talked about more.look at what rigo did to donaire look at what donaire did to vic and montiel abner does not have any wins like that
Abner Mares has stellar wins. Do you mean ko's?? Agbeko, Vic, Anselmo, Perez and PDL are are stellar wins.
was there as much talk about those wins as the examples i gave?the agbeko vic, and perez wins were not really dominant performances they were good wins for him but nothing really special.did rigo ko donaire? are you bothered by what im saying?i'm just pointing out the reason mares has not been looked at or ranked as high as others i personally don't have a problem with abner
Lol Lucas is severely overrated on here he's a good tough fighter but he looses to Peterson
maybe but i can't honestly say that peterson is that much better so maybe in this case vyou are overrating peterson it should be a good close fight and i can't wait to see it
The ref was ok, he let them fight out of it but Mayweather is just very sneaky with his elbows and forehands.
what does floyd do with his elbows and forehands?create seperation
starting to notice that all the people who hate floyd are the ones who always make threads about floyd.i thought canelo won and hope floyd does fight canelo becase from what i saw yesterday it would be easy work
yes why shouldn't anyone give him credit?outside of bias canelo fans it seems everyone thought trout would win so how could you not give a guy credit for beating someone that so many said he would lose to
there were a couple of us that thought that trout was as un proven as canelo but there were alot on here that were making him out to be this great fighter
Ah, but are you fully convinced Floyd will take the fight?
not sure most of floyds recent opponents have come off of big wins that they looked great in canelo had a big win but to most didn't look great so we will see
Only Macklin has signed the fight. Let's not give credit to guys because they or their manager said they would fight him in the future. Type of ***** is that?
i don't know, why would you say a fighter is ducking someone when they nev er out their own mouth said they would not fight golovkin?
I hope May denies him the opportunity after that b.s. fiasco last night. I like Canelo the fighter but he needs to earn his way up properly by fighting guys his size and actually beating them fairly.
what do you mean?
Yeah, the one that didn't want to be hugged by another man for 36 minutes... the one that got up and floored Angulo in that same round en route to a stoppage... that lost to Ishida in 2011 after doing a 2-year stint. Meanwhile Alvarez was beating spectacular opposition in career welterweights like Kermint Cintron, Matthew Hatton, and Alfonso Gomez.
and now trout who is better than anyone kirkland beat and if you wanna use the jail thing as an excuse for getting knocked out by someone he should of never been knocked out by then angulo gets a past because of all the problems he was going thru in his life
Ya never know canelo could catch floyd with some punches like cotto did but seriously hurt lil floyd.
cotto and canelo are completely different fighters so i doubt it
You have to understand that most of the posters who claimed GGG was ducked were the low IQ ones, they discover him in September after he appeared on their screen against Proksa and blam avatar/sig of GGG and Martinez was ducking him lol, you can't make that shet up with a lot of these plebs.
i know that **** is so funny every other month a new person is bein ducked can you people calm down and wait atleast a full year before you start with the ducking talk.
if a fight doesn't happen when they say so some one is a duck thats just how it goes
Yeah, the same Kirkland that went into Angulo's backyard and stopped him in six. That one.
Wait, let me guess... Angulo was damaged goods .
the same kirkland that should have lost to molina and got floored by angulo and knocked out by ishida?
no one dis likes golovkin if anything i think everyone likes golovkin but we just hate to hear people talk **** about other fighters because they have yet to fight golovkin when in reality most of these people didn't even know who golovkin was a year and a half ago
The post I was responding to said that all of Mayweather's opposition has come off of great wins where they looked good and that although Canelo won, he didn't look good doing it.
So if Ortiz winning a fight in which he got dropped in is considered looking better than Canelo winning a fight against a guy that he dropped, a guy that had never been dropped before, then I'm not really sure I can agree with that criteria.
go look around the internet for comments that were made about ortiz after he beat berto and compare them to the comments being made about canelo win over trout.who said floyd wouldn't fight canelo i was commentin mainly on the comments of people mentioning maidana and alexander as opponents if you look at floyds last couple opponents they were recognizable names coming off of big wins.
canelo is a recgnizable name and he has a good win so he might be next
why not give him credit?
he failed to impress in the fight, but he won fair and square
he fought a legit JMW and won, so give him propsthe fight was just tainted by that stupid WBC scoring
exactly if he impressed you or not is a different question and i don't think anything was tainted by the scoring
2 of the scorecards were not that bad and no one was saying the rigondeaux fight was tainted by bad scoring
