Did he shut your fucking mouth tonight or what? Rahman fought a great plan and probably deserved the win in a close fight. I scored 6 rounds for Rahman, maybe 7 on a second look. Like Roy Jones Jr said, the only heavyweight who has a chance against Toney is Rahman. I told all of you that Rahman is a great fighter but he is UNFORTUNATE. He is an up and down fighter and I didn't wanna see him win tonight because if he had you know for a fact he'd lose his next fight because that's what he does. It's better this way, I guess. Rock put up a great fight that most people had him winning, and Toney isn't out of the picture yet. And this isn't a case of Toney being fat or old because he fought the same. They both fought their fights, and Rahman is a great fighter. I hope all you fuckers show him some respect now.
Rahman fought decent in the beginning of the fight, but nothing to raise your eyebrows at...and this is a fight for the WBC title!! Rahman and Toney last night showed us just how bad some of these so-called "champions" really are. If you think last night's fight was championship-caliber, how about I kick you in the nuts right before I let you watch the first Bowe-Holyfield fight. With the exception of Wlad and Brewster, the heavyweight division is nothing but a bunch of plodding big men.
is joel julio a middleweight?
Two words: Jermain Taylor
Beat Hopkins twice in a year and is undefeated. Winky Wright is his only legitimate threat, and Taylor sure as hell ain't no Tito Trinidad. Imagine if Tito fought Taylor? Fuck a one-sided decision, we'd see a wicked KO before the 6th.
Before Foreman fought Ali, I would tell him to conserve his energy, that Ali can take a punch better than people think. I'd tell him to pick his spots to throw power punches and lean on Ali to tire him. Then, we would be talking about Foreman as the "Greatest".
winky schooled tito like tito was a fucking amteur
winky>taylor
Read my first post...Taylor would KO Tito worse than Hopkins did. Wright might not get knocked out, but he will lose.
Rahman fought decent at the beginning of the fight? If you compare it to his past performances, this was one of rocks best performances IMO and james still seemed to get the draw, although it could have went either way. Rahman pressed on and on and never seemed to get weary, and even at the end of the fight didn't look as gassed as I have seen him in past fights. he was in great shape Rahman fought a very good fight last night, its just that toney is such a skilled fighter its hard to adapt to his style.
When I say "decent", I'm pretty much saying he fought average for a TITLE FIGHT. This wasn't just some tune-up dude, this was a career-defining fight that he pretty much let slip away, although I thought he won. I mean c'mon, who the hell is gonna remember this fight 5 years from now? It was lame.
Not at all, but that's really his best chance. If he looks to stand and trade he's going to get beaten down and taken apart.
The best way to nullify what Toney does best is to stay away from him, not come to him.
Rahman has looked his best in the last five years in the first 6 rounds of the Tua fight when he was throwing 60 jabs a round. He was out of gas after that, but that was really the best he's looked since the one punch wonder.
He doesn't have a very good chance in this fight any way you look at it (barring a shocker), but coming to Toney and trying to hurt him is a particularly worse plan than others at his disposal.
I just don't get it. People are making it out to sound like Rahman is nothing more than a slugger. He may have slugging tendencies, but Rahman has very fast hands for a heavyweight as well. He can and will mix it up if he decides to go toe-to-toe with Toney, which he WON'T be afraid to do. We're talking about a guy who has tasted the overhand right of Lennox Lewis and he's supposed to be afraid to slug with Toney??? Toney's only chance in this fight IMO is to pull a "Winky Wright" and block everything while concentrating on counters. I think Rahman wins this one by stoppage or KO.
I actually do think some fighters are avoided, but NOT because out of one fighter fearing the other. It's all about business and promoters. Do you really think Don King wants one of his cash cows to go up against a notorious KO artist who's killing folks in the ring? It's reasons like that that sometimes make it hard for fans to get good fights. But eventually, they have to fight the best after they've milked the sport for long enough to be able to risk losing.
I'll give you Judah over Cotto...but Hatton would just completely fuck Judah up. Hatton would walk right through his punches and unleash on his body, setting up shots to the head. The fight would end up being stopped.
I respect your opinion but how so, taylor doesn't fight at angles ge goes straight forward, aka tito, taylor has athetisism but winky will come in great shape as he always does.(even when he fights with the flue, soliman fight) and taylor has no defence and we all know defence wins championships. taylors KO power is highly overrated even though winky doesn't have great ko power he has TONS of skill and experience to back it up and he can be a banger inside if he has to like he did against vargas in his prime. even with emanual stewart in his corner a boxer can't change that much, unless your Manny Pac with the roachster in his corner.
winky by UD it definetly will be a chess match down to the end!
lol, taylor comes straight forward? yeah, maybe against guys who he knows he will run over. but when he's fighting someone with a style like winky's, he will be cautious and pick his spots like he did against hopkins. hopkins, btw would have beaten winky as well if they had ever fought. speaking of which, you comparing tito to taylor is laughable....tito's athleticism and skill really showed up hopkins huh?
I just want for the people that haven't seen the fight, but acts like they have seen the fight to see the fight. Only the first fight, not the second fight.
Yes they were not great fights, but also it wasn't that bad of fights.
Also can anyone help me how to put video from TV to the computer, because I don't know how to do this. I want to download this fight for the idiots that have not seen the fight & act like Castillo won the fight.
i saw the 1st fight and i believe castillo won, maybe not by much but he won. also, i'm so tired of floyd being labeled p4p #1 by dumbasses who don't know shit about any other fighter except for floyd. yeah floyd is undefeated and is coming off of victories over a never-was gatti and a fighter by the name of zab judah who had just been beat in his LAST FIGHT. can we give some credit to ricky hatton or jermaine taylor for a change, two guys that are undefeated that just beat LEGENDS!! some of you floyd fans are so clueless regarding other fighters :twak:
I don't like either fighter really, but Mayweather won't lose against this guy. They're two different classes of fighters despite how fast Judah may be. Floyd's gonna take him to school.
u can't really go wrong with tht list :D
Tyson after the Spinks fight was the most intimadating
Foreman after he destoryd Frazier 4 sur was the most
intimanating fighter off all, :D
yeah, after foreman ran over frazier when frazier was the undefeated champion coming off of a win over the great ali, he was the most intimidating fighter of all time. foreman was also undefeated and looked like a machine, the closest thing to a real-life ivan drago boxing has ever seen.
I didn't give a shit one way or another. But I'm critical of other people's opinions when the border on hypocritical.
um, and? i have no idea what you are talking about
the threadstarter is a classic hater....enough said and he looks like a retard anyways. on a more important note, i think byrd will give wlad a tougher fight than people think, but i see wlad winning in the end.
Yeah... I like Byrd. you're talking out your ass. I have never praised Byrd in one instance. You find a post where I praised Byrd and I'll give you a billion points. Until then, you're on my ignore list.
i never said you were a byrd fan...just a fan of "some" fighter who wlad beat. you are giving him ZERO credit when everyone else in the boxing world is. face it dude, you are a hater in denial and everyone knows it.
if you're going to hate, just fucking leave and not post here. you look like a bitter fan who's favorite fighter got his ass kicked by wlad...end of story. what a loser
He was mentally weak thats why, Bowe got stopped by Lewis in the Amatuers, and refused to fight him in the pro's.
Not that I'm a fan of Bowe or anything, but how does anyone know that Bowe was afraid to fight him? Did he say this to someone? Is this just gossip because all I seem to be reading on the matter are opinions.
You're still not getting it.
The only shame, is that Bowe was afraid of Lewis. Lewis called for that fight for years, and never got it because Bowe was afraid.
So saying "IF Bowe wasn't afraid, he may have beatin Lewis" is pointless.
Bowe's problem was his weak mental state. That's why he was afraid of Lennox, and that's what prevented him from fufilling his potential.
So "if" he wasn't such a mentally weak individual in spots, he may have done a lot of things.
Why was Bowe afraid to fight Lewis? Is there a link or something or is this just hearsay?
What about Brewster? You're thinking just like Wlad. Avoid the people that beat you.
brewster just got his ass whooped. why would wlad push for a rematch with someone who just got a beat down? everyone knows wlad would beat brewster and also that he should have beat brewster the first time, he just gassed himself out. what wlad needs to do is fight rahman and the other champs so he can unify the titles.
byrd is probably the only top heavy who cant drop wlad. if wlad fought toney and toney landed any of those rights on him like he did on rahman, we would see wlad on his ass so many times it would be laughable.
you and mayweatherfan are both just plain ignorant. you say byrd will stop wlad and what not, but why and how will he do it? is it the punching power? blah blah!! is it the boxing skills? yeah, worked well for byrd last time out, lmao. the only thing that byrd has going for him in this fight is defense, which won't win him the fight if all he does is protect himself from being knocked out. and we all know byrd won't win some sneaky decision in germany. wlad is going to make byrd look like the overhyped, overmatched champion he really is come this weekend.
oh yeah, toney wouldn't be as overmatched as byrd, but he wouldn't have a prayer against someone 8 inches taller than him who is a much more accurate puncher than rahman.
Because you're too infatuated with promoting your own view point to look at others' and be critical of their opinions just because they're on your "side"... so to speak.
still don't know what you're talking about....you said excuses rule and i said so does a right hand that puts byrd on his ass. you responded with something like being hypocritical or some stupid shit and me being infatuated about something? again...wtf are you talking about?
Hatton is the guy that could and likely would beat Floyd. Hatton would walk through Floyd's punches and smother him with body shots and uppercuts. And talk about stamina...Hatton keeps the same pace for 12 rounds, Mayweather wouldn't have time to even breath. While I'm on the subject, and some might think I'm nuts for saying this, but I think Ricardo Mayorga if he moved down would give Floyd some serious problems with his unpredictable streetfighting style. We all know Mayorga has the power, aggressiveness, and chin. All he would have to do is put it all together for 12 rounds and he would beat him.
really, so losing a title fight and having it given to you without deserving it makes you a real champ? i guess vitali was a real champ too huh.
Name one fighter who would have beaten Vitali. After Lewis retired, VK was practically unchallengeable by the inferior opponents we have today. Also, who cares if Taylor didn't look like a superstar against Hopkins...EVERYONE thought Taylor was too green and would lose. Now that he didn't(TWICE), everyone says he didn't look "badass" enough. I swear, I'm glad I don't use this forum as boxing knowledge, because most of the people on here are fucking retarded when it comes to boxing.
oh, and its not a matter of taylor not looking like a superstar, its the fact that he got a gift decision in the first fight and never should have had the second shot.
he got a gift decision according to who? a few select hopkins fans? imagine how bad the sport would be if the judges decided who won based on the fighters' fans opinion..LMFAO!! the majority of the boxing world sides with taylor on both fights, so please just leave it alone and stop making yourself look like a hopkins-worshipping fool!
GOOD LORD! Its these type of idiotic nuthugging threads that give the brothers Klit a bad name!
nuthugging? is the statement so far from the truth at this point in the division? you're a byrd fan right? the guy who wlad is fighting next and who wlad already beat. yeah you're opinion counts, lol.
Bozo, when he said "The Best", it means the best right now. OBVIOUSLY. You act like he said the best ever! And yes, as far as today's heavyweights, I would like you to tell me who the best is and why?
Brewster- Wlad exhausted himself beating on the guy. Did you even watch the fight? Wlad didn't get Ko'd or even knocked down. He fell over after the round from exhaustion. And the video proves it. Hater can fuck themselves on this one. I'd be surprised if Don King EVER let Brewster fight Wlad again.
Byrd- Wlad already beat him and will beat him again in the rematch.
Toney- Don't give me any shit about how elusive and intelligent Toney is. Wlad's reach and strength will cancel out any "sneakiness", lol, that Toney has. I can't believe people think that this fat little counterpuncher will even be able to touch Wlad, much less KO him.
Rahman- who knows? Rahman has a puncher's chance, but there is no proof that this guy is worthy, whose rep is built on KO'ing Lennox with a lucky punch, only to get KO'd even worse in the rematch and having his career go down the shitter.
Good list...Glad to see someone giving Jeffries credit. I've got him at 13 myself; but my list is always in flux. Having Fitz at 8 is interesting. Why do you rate him so highly?
Fitz had an oustanding career and also was one of the toughest fighters ever. i give mad respect to all the old-timers who fought grueling fights with like 25 and 30 rounds is another reason.
jeffries was awesome, only beaten by jack johnson when he was past his prime.
Vitali didn't get cut on a piece of paper, it was Lennox's fist. It's odd that when a guy gets cut from a punch that the puncher is somehow not credited with causing it. Rahman and McCall gave rematches for the money.
he was cut by the side of the glove, not from a direct punch. it was a "freak" cut that doesn't happen very often. watch the fight, and watch that punch in slow motion, it's not like lennox cleanly connected, itwas pretty much a freak accident.
