Im sick of heaing about that fight, the reason mostly is that the first Castillo fight was essentially floyd's adjustment to Roger Mayweather's more offense oriented fighting style, that fight was (if i remember correctly) floyds first fight with his uncle after him and his own father parted ways, Floyd father preached a far more defensive regimen. I make no excuses for floyd as far as the fight being very close and disputed, but whats stupid is how you people act like there wasnt a rematch, Castillo came close the first time, and was completely outclassed the second time, why dont you people ever bring that shit up? Its like Duran beat leonard in the first fight, did it matter the 2nd time?
You people compare the Margarito fight to the Castillo first fight, what about the 2nd fight? Some of you have short term memory, im sick of hearing you people hang on to the fact the FIRST fight was close, yet none of you ever wanna discuss the second fight. Your boy was outclassed and if he had anything on mayweather, he would have beat him in the 2nd match, just face it already.
I really hate to bring up olds threads, but I just don't understand how you guys say this was a flat out robbery. The fight was very, very, very, very close, and could've gone either way.
By the way, I just rewatched the fight without HBO commentary and scored the fight:
Round FM JC
1 10 9
2 10 9
3 10 9
4 10 9
5 10 9
6 9 10
7 9 10
8 9 9
9 10 9
10 8 10
11 10 9
12 9 10
Total: 114 112
both fights were hell of close! but i dont understand how you can say that he dominated the 2nd fight when he was on his bike all day long!!!! Castillo had him running around like i never seen pretty boy run I remember Larry merchant even said that Mayweather was running way to much, And I have the dvd at home and seen both fights.
first fight was scored 116-112 for Maywaether a fight Castillo won.
second fight was scored 115-113 a fight that Mayweather supposedly dominated.
dont kid youself people first fight Castillo won and second was real close.
Glad you brought up this fight cause I finished watching this fight last night. And it was a close fight but not as close as the first fight.
In the second fight Mayweather was on his bicycle all night and in my opinion gave a very poor showing, not the dominate showing you point too.
Castillo gave the first 4 rounds in their second fight then slowly started his attack. And that was the problem.
And it was funny as hell to again, see a whinning Mayweather.. when Castillo hit Marywether in the stomach, Maryweather was bitching while trying to hold Castillo, while Castillo hit him in the stomach then once again Maryweather seen the canvas.
Maryweather fought hard not to have the fight held in LA, instead it was held somwhere else and you can see the empty seats in the arena. Had Arum had his way and held the fight in LA, their wouldn't be one empty seat in the arena.
But Maryweather was scared the LA crowd would give strength to Castillo, so Maryweather fought hard to not have the fight held in LA and it wasn't. Had the fight been held in LA, the crowd would have made Castillo start early and Castillo would have won a decision.
The crowd in the audiance were dead, which made the fight less pleasent to watch when you got Maryweather on his bicycle, and throwing one punch at a time, while complaining about body punchs.
After seeing this fight again, I wouldn't mind seeing Castillo v. Maryweather 3 but Maryweather would not be willing to enter the ring again with Castillo.
Maryweather sees Margarito as a bigger Castillo. Maryweather will stay away from Margarito as long as he can, hoping he'll lose so he won't have to fight him.
Can you please just shut the fuck up.
I just want for the people that haven't seen the fight, but acts like they have seen the fight to see the fight. Only the first fight, not the second fight.
Yes they were not great fights, but also it wasn't that bad of fights.
Also can anyone help me how to put video from TV to the computer, because I don't know how to do this. I want to download this fight for the idiots that have not seen the fight & act like Castillo won the fight.
i saw the 1st fight and i believe castillo won, maybe not by much but he won. also, i'm so tired of floyd being labeled p4p #1 by dumbasses who don't know shit about any other fighter except for floyd. yeah floyd is undefeated and is coming off of victories over a never-was gatti and a fighter by the name of zab judah who had just been beat in his LAST FIGHT. can we give some credit to ricky hatton or jermaine taylor for a change, two guys that are undefeated that just beat LEGENDS!! some of you floyd fans are so clueless regarding other fighters :twak:
Had the fight been held in LA, the crowd would have made Castillo start early and Castillo would have won a decision.
you got to be kidding me
are you implying castillo is like an animal who fights harder if the crowd chants harder?
I have way too much respect for castillo and his skills to think of him like that, and I think you meant something else from what I understood, too.
It seems that a few people here thinks that castillo is like some human killing machine who justs walk forward (and does it more if the crowd is lowder...come on man, you know better), that is not the case: he has timing, he moves efficiently in the ring, he has GREAT inside offensive abilities, (as in choice of punches).
It is not just castillo's toughness which made him mayweather toughest opponent, it was also because of:
his ability to be in front of him in the right spot to hit his body, not close to him ready to be countered like some gatti or corrales
his ability to cut the ring, not chasing him around offering him good angles.
no way
gayweather lost the first fight. anyone that sez otherwise is a mayweather butt-buddy. The lederman card 115- 111 for castillo. Even jim lampley was stun to find they gave it to PBF, quote from jim, " NOT THE FIGHT WE SAW"... .. i'm still trying to get ahold of the 2nd fight, but to all you mayweather fanatics, stop living in denial. Mayweather's a good fighter, but not as good as castillo... 3rd times a charm !!!!! :boxing:
J.L.C. will always be a bad style matchup for PBF.I like J.L.C. but I'm a huge Mayweather fan and don't think they should ever fight again.Besides wouldn't everyone rather see Castillo against someone that will stand in front of him and go to war like Corrales, Hatton, and Cotto.
yeah, but he should've won, dont you agree?? :D
No. Castillo lost both fights. The first one closely and the second one a little wider. But they were both legit losses.
Mr. Video Man, why don't you post the full fight for the people haven't seen it yet, I don't know how to post the fights on the internet, I would've done this already & created a poll with the fight.
Why would you want to go through that again?
Cosidering they are both great fighters and have had great successes, those 2 fights would have to be some of the most boring fights i've ever seen. Couldn't wait to watch them at first, but couldn't wait to delete them afterwards.
Sorry but the second Castillo fight was close as well. And you will continue to hear about the Castillo fight. I am one of those that doesnt compare Margarito to Castillo as I feel Castillo is a much better fighter, hell Margarito might get totally humiliated, but the fact is Margarito Deserves the shot, and styles makes fights thats why u gotta fight the fights.
The first was a close fight but mayweather won the 1st half easy before Castillo could get in engine running and squeeked through the 2nd half.
The second one Mayweather won but I didn't like how he ran away the whole fight and didn't want to engage. Castillo was not blown out of the water. It was more of Mayweather dictacting the pace and effectively keeping away from Castillo.

the changes he had does not give him the vic.
ferocity, upload the vide on onetruemedia, think it will shut up alot of people that like to talk about the fight even though they havent seen it.
Will do. ;)
Your just a hater Floyd would beat Castillo again but even more so than the second fight. He is better now than he was then.
Peace
I'll more like have to wait till Saturday and see the Judah fight see if you are correct that he is improving and not slowing down. Cause I can see the flaws in his fight with Mitchell.
Im not saying Maryweather is not a good fighter, im just say he lost the first fight and won a close fight in their second fight with Castillo and im also saying off of the Mitchell fight Mayweather is slowing down, but I have yet to see him against Judah. :boxing:
