I'm guessing to work on overcoming that fear? ...Or else that fear doesn't really exist. Either way, he deserves alot of credit for getting in the ring with Peter.

Wlad is very mentally weak, when he gets hit by a big shot he totally loses it every time, he is afraid of getting hit hard and it's easy to see. and regardless of how stupid tyson is wlad will never ever accomplish anything close to what tyson did. ....Why would a guy who is "so afraid" of being hit willingly get into the ring with a monster puncher like Peter?

Most everyone, even some who like Wlad, predicted it would be all over the first time he got hit against Peter. Almost every hater in this thread picked Peter to KO Wlad. And the rest predicted he would fall apart after 6 rounds. The fact that he got up every time to whoop on Peter's head some more, throwing a lot of power shots, over 12 rounds, being by far the stronger and fresher fighter at the end of the fight, dominating the final round, impresses me. I think it even impressed (and disappointed) a lot of people who don't have the balls to admit it. Many fans, for one reason or another, are bothered by any success of the Klitschkos and cannot fathom actually posting an unbiased opinion, with no hidden agenda and other hangups. There are many fighters who I dislike, mostly because of their attitude (Vargas) or their trash talking (Judah). But if they do well, impress me, or earn praise- then I'll certainly give it to them. Why? Because I'm a fan of the sport of boxing, more than I am a fan of any one fighter, or nationality, or country or anything else that drives irrational biases from fans. Great post man. Damn, just like the good old times, huh? Wlad fans vs. haters, 12 rounds of championship boxing. Here is my take on Wlad: 1. He does have a mental problem: he is afraid of being punched. It's like he gets lost for a few seconds. But, after Sanders, who can blame him? 2. He does not have a weak jaw, people with weak jaw do not get up from the canvas after Peter's KDs. 3. He does not have a problem with stamina. In Brewster fight he was throwing up to 100 punches per round, which was a tactical mistake more than anything. Purity's loss was poor conditioning in all its beauty though. 4. He has a huge heart (read posts above). 5. He is the best offensive fighter out there right now and his defense improved big time. In Wlad's defense against Bozo. So the man's been knocked down afew times. Big fuckin deal. He doesn't retire like Tito, or tuck tail and run. He keeps coming back which is the sign of a true champion. It was brave of him to face what was arguably the hardest upcoming puncher in Sam Peter, and until those behind the head knockdowns, he was making Sam look silly. I really hope he does well in this year. Perhaps all the downsides he's come across were signs of the worst being behind him and now he can fufill that assignment of being the next aire to Lewis. ...This is an excellent unbiased post if I ever saw one. Who cares about punch resistence? If Wlad had the chin of Tua, he'd be boring to watch, as he'd be knocking people out in 100% of his fights. His vulnerability makes his fights very exciting to watch. Vulnerability is what Arturo Gatti has. Wlad's "vulnerability" is called no chin.
