I'm a big Manny Pacquiao fan and is probably one of my favourite fighters but Manny is going to lose again to one of the finest boxers that has ever lived.
Who really cares? Whoever puts up the best fights is the one I'll support. As far as I know, the UFC is putting the best matchups in MMA these days. If White could the same for boxing, I'll watch it.
These days, any fight with Bam Rodriguez, I'm good.
What a ridiculous suggestion. Crawford will destroy an old Mayweather. He might even hurt him really bad. This matchup is just as useless for boxing as Pac/Mayweather 2. Stop it.
Love Bam. He's my favourite fighter at the moment but Stevenson has a potential to add more belt in other weight classes in his resume than Bam and that, ultimately, will be the deciding factor of who becomes number 1 in the future.
Lost all respect for Joshua. I hope Paul knocks him out.
I gave AJ a pass with Ngannou, at least he's roughly the same size as him, but not this time.
Boxing has become a joke.
The only reason I haven't fully switched to MMA is because of fighters like Bam Bam, Bud, Inoue and Espinoza.
The problem is that it's not the diehard boxing fans who will define Pacquiao's legacy but the sports insiders and journos who have always been kinder to Manny than Mayweather. 50 years from now more people will remember Larry Merchant's rant about why PBF ducked Manny Pacquiao. So no, the "Say No To Drugs" testing campaign won't hurt Pac's legacy one bit. It will hurt Mayweather's.
Here we go for the 4 round amateur hype....errrr....main event.
Nothing wrong with opening new markets. It's good for boxing.
It would be funny though, if he gets his butt handed to him tonight. lol.
Great fight from these two warriors. Those body shots from Estrada were murderous. Almost knocked Viloria out and stuck to his gameplan. Good win.
Unfortunately, I think it's time for Brian to retire. Too many wars. He is a tenacious warrior and too come back and win a title from being written off, is admirable. He has been great for the sport and nothing more to prove. A true overachiever.
But no more. Time to enjoy your earnings now and hang em up.
He will come back 100 % committed to boxing, no rapping ***** and no clubbing or eating junk food. All you haters will cry once more when broner comes back even stronger.
Look at the ATG list and pretty much every fighter in it has lost except for Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Even Ray Robinson lost too. It don't matter Broner lost
Broner and Canelo too cuz i saw him in the crowd will come back stronger nect year.
:boxing:
I would agree with you if he got knocked out cold by a lucky punch in the first or second round, but he didn't. He got beat by a B fighter, at best, for 12 rounds. For 12 rounds, he couldn't adjust to the style of a slow, plodding, gassing fighter with a suspect chin. What makes you think he will change his style after 24 years? He won't.
He just was never and will never be as good as you thought he was, that's all.
You're not a true boxing fan if you don't think MANNY's accomplishment are worthy of atg and legend talk. On the other hand, you're not a boxing fan either if you don't think that PBF will easily figure Manny out for an decision.
Both are great fighters, but both are also known cherrypickers. Most great modern fighter have one time or another worked in the orchards.. The more money involved the bigger the orchard gets. Storey of boxing, so don't hate on both Manny's and PBF's accomplishments.
My feeling though, is that PBF has to beat Manny in order to pass him on the atg list, whatever that is. You jus can't discount 4 lineal titles. So let's get it on.
PBF on a hard fought split decision.
Ortiz goes down more than twice, but unlike Corrales, he say "No Mas" around the 11th. Ortiz is too inexperienced for PBF. He don't belong in the ring with Floyd.

What a beautiful counter! Marquez is an amazing boxer. To have the presence of mind to throw that punch after losing the round, that's called commitment. Warquez!!!!
he was born in uk, raised in canada as a teenager, represented canada in olympics, canada didnt embrace him so he switched to britain, now lives in america.
It's not that Canada didn't embrace him, there were just more opportunities in Britain with regards to boxing.
Boxing in Canada died in the 60s right after Ali beat Chuvalo at Maple Leaf Gardens in 1966.
At his peak, Lewis would have contended with other major sports attractions like hockey, baseball, football and basketball. In the 90s, more and more "polite" Canadians thought that boxing was too barbaric and inhumane, which is ironic, especially for a drop-your-gloves, hockey loving nation like Canada.
Boxing does not, and still doesn't, fill arenas in Canada and his Canadian fans wouldn't have followed him to Las Vegas on fight night, ala Ricky Hatton. Britain made financial and social sense for Lewis. He is still remembered today because of the choice he made to fight for GB.
Check out my sig! This is the same guy who started this thread. Cigarillo=No Ceilings=Burner. His logic is the most illogical thinking in the history of man. Just read my sig and you will rofl.
PBF vs Pac is the biggest irony in boxing.
Can someone tell me how two of the biggest cherrypickers in the sport today would want to pick a fight against each other. PBF vs PAC is the biggest irony in boxing.
While Pac works at the orchards, Floyd owns the land.
You can't teach CHIN! At least Tommy Hearns had power in both hands. Khan will be KO'd bad eventually and then retire. He is done. You can't teach CHIN.
I don't think so because there really weren''t a lot of expections from him when he started his career, no hype whatsoever. He only became highly rated when he started fighting and beating the big names of the sport, in different categories. A rare feat especially from a one armed fighter who was never touted as a future great. Manny actually overachieved. I guarantee you, 50 years from now no one will deny his greatness. How could you, after 4 lineals and 8 division titles? He will be remembered as one of the greats of the sport. Not bad for a small Asian midget. Just don't call him the greatest, though. Or else I'm gonna have to agree with the TS.
yea i know, but most fighters that eventually become professional greats, you see the signs while their in the amatuers or early on in their pro careers....For example everyone new Sugar Ray Leonard, Pernell Whitaker, Michael Spinks, Roy Jones, their are some that werent the best ams....like Trinidad but we knew he'd be special
Manny kinda came out of no where...I guess thats where the phenomenon comes from
It's interesting how you name mostly American fighters. Maybe therein lies your answer. American fighters get the most exposure and most hype when it comes to this sport. So how can you really expect someone from a third workd developing country compete with the same expectations and public perception that these young Americans get.
Maybe therein lies his greatness, to come out of nowhere and achieve what he has as opposed to most of the American fighters who were expected to be great but actually under achieved. Does anybody remember Ed Hopson, Panchito Bojado, Mark Breland, just to name a few.
Accordng to the judges, it would be Manny. Apparently, He just has to throw more and be the aggressor and he should bag this fight. It doesn't matter how many times PBF will snap Pac's head back with the most accurate punching in history, the judges will still favour Manny's "come forward" style. Manny by controversial "Trinidad vs De la Hoya" decision.
