I really don't see anything overwhelmingly good about Rodriguez as a boxer, though. Just like in the power department. He's just a good, solid boxer-boxer/puncher.
In fact, I think Rosinsky might actually be a better pure boxer, but Rodriguez is just a naturally bigger man with more of a punch.
Pavlik has shown he can box as well.
Pavlik has the bigger punch. ALso think Robert has him really working that left hook better now, especially to the body.
It's an interesting fight, but I slightly favor Pavlik. Really hope they make it for January or something.
Funny that you mentioned that cause I don't think Pavlik does anything special himself except his power. And how good is it really at 168 now? Sure he dropped Rosinsky but he couldn't get the smaller guy out of there. I expect Rodriguez to make Pavlik miss as much as he did Escalera.
THey don't know how to build up a fighter, 13 fights in the ring with a top 10/15 guy at 168? 16 fights figthing a hall of famer?
you make it seem like either of them is/was canelo or jr for godsake. neither guy is ever going to be a big time draw. its a gamble worth the risk. these are the sorta fights that get you into the conversations of those divisions.
But Pavlik clearly beat Rosinsky.
I'd recommend watching Rodriguez/Rosinsky. . . Many thought Rosinsky won that fight. . I thought Rodriguez barely nicked it, or probably a draw.
roskinsky is a good little boxer in his own right, he's "pesky" enough to make some boxers look average.
Im not arguing with that but remember styles make fights and I don't think Pavlik can beat a boxer like Rodriguez. Who can match him in size and length as well.

They thought Vic was shot. When really he lost to good opponents.
cause talent means nothing?

As a fellow Edwin, I gotta support Rodriguez. We only have Edwin Hubble in the list of famous Edwins.

Really, Edwin Rodriguez should be looking at giving Will Rosinsky a rematch. . .
It bothers me that he didn't really beat a feather fisted, average boxer like Rosinsky.
But I like him, and he's got solid fundamentals. I just don't see anything special about him; no part of his game is world class.
I didn't like his absence of punch variety when he had his man dead on the ropes. There should have been a finishing hook to the body. Or a crisp uppercut.
Well, we all saw DiBella in the back nodding his head saying yes so when a fight shows up for Rodriguez he better take it.
Impressed by Rodriguez. His previous fight I felt he was getting hit more than necessary and today he did a magnificent job of hitting and not getting hit even tho he had the huge size advantage.
He literally beat up a grocery store manager. But props to Rodriguez.
Supermarket my man, get it right. It's actually a step up from grocery store.
