AMIR KHAN is moving closer to a megabucks fight with Floyd Mayweather next year. Khan’s proposed fight with former WBC and IBF light-welterweight champ Devon Alexander has fallen through and that has paved the way for a superfight with unbeaten Mayweather.
Khan said: “There’s a lot of talk about the Mayweather fight happening, but at the moment, I’ve left it up to my promotional team, Golden Boy.”
A May date in Las Vegas is being discussed but there is also a chance of ‘Money’ Mayweather agreeing to the bout taking place at Wembley. Click Here To Read More]
If you going to make those comments, at least try to be objective. Floyd was in no position to be offering Manny 40 mil when they both practically command almost the same number of pay per view buys at least on the average so unlike the other guys you referred to, Manny had earned the right to accept or turn down any fight just like Floyd. Manny was never a B-side to Floyd contrary to what Floyd makes you all believe so don't let your love for Floyd cloud the facts and dilute your judgement. I will even go further to say that Manny earns his buys himself based on his popularity while Floyd relies on a popular b-side to earn his and at the end boast as though he did it on his own. The exact same reason why he is fighting Khan as oppose to the other worthy opponents. Just a lil food for thought.
Pac is no where near floyd in ppv sales nor in matches with the same opponent. Pac fans try to change documented history.
Ghost and the Ginger already tried that, both failed. Granted khan's speed will trouble cherrypicker for a while until cherrypicker figures him out. Cherrypicker don't make fights where he knows he can lose
Well you just stated he can fight anyone from 147-154
With Garcia blatantly refusing to fight Floyd and Floyd himself refusing to fight Pacquiao, it appears Khan is the only option. lel
WHAT!!!!!! What planet do you live on???? Pac is on a losing streak and is fighting jr ww. He is not even facing a top jr welter he is fighting the #6 ranked jr. Pac won't even face the #6 ww lol. How is floyd refusing to face pac? Man wake the f@#k up.
His feet are fast. Doesn't mean they are good but they are definitely fast
They don't look fast bro,his hands I say are fast..His feet,not so much..From what I've seen anyway..
If Khan had a glass chin then there's no way he would've survived the fight with Maidana, who is arguably the hardest hitter in the division. Ok, fair enough he was shaky in Round 11 but he got through it and his recuperation levels are up there with the best of them.
According to this logic - Diaz hits harder than Maidana to have knocked Khan down?
What happened to his recuperation levels in the 4th against Garcia? or mid-fight with Diaz?
I honestly believe Khan has the potential to be a great fighter but he often looks past his opponents, gets careless and because of that gets knocked back and rightly so. I just wish he'd knuckled down, brush up on his defence and box the ears of his opponents instead of being dragged into a brawl.
He doesn't deserve a shot at Mayweather, he needs to win a Welterweight title or win a rematch against Garcia before he gets some respect back
+1.
I used to like Khan...until he started opening his mouth.
Sometimes a guy wants something to be true so badly he forces himself to believe it. In this case though, Mayweather's defense, footwork, accuracy, experience & ring IQ negate anything Khan can bring with him. He won't touch Floyd enough to set something up & he can't out-box him. Clinic
Khan has some of the worst footwork in the fight game..His feet are not even fast..What is this guy talking about?? Oh yea its a delusional Khan fan..

Yeah except he looks like Fred Astaire compared to most of Mayweather's opponents.

I think his problem is too much heart and he's often careless after throwing combinations. The Maidana fight could've been way easier for Khan but instead he gets dragged into exchanging. As for the Garcia fight, he was dominating the fight up until he got caught, I think he was over confident and got careless and that led to a shot that would've KO'd most fighters.

He doesn't deserve a shot at Mayweather, he needs to win a Welterweight title or win a rematch against Garcia before he gets some respect back but those that say he won't match Mayweather for speed, that's crap, he won't match Mayweather for accuracy and maybe even power but he definitely matches him for speed - just go on youtube and listen to post match interviews with his opponents. Garcia explains just how fast he really is.
What else would Khan do? Pressure fight him and try to get inside? :lol1:
Mayweather hasn't fought anyone like Khan. It's all well and good outboxing guys like Guerrero and Canelo who's feet look like they're stuck in cement.

I might be stretching here but I get the feeling that a FMM vs. Pac deal for 2014 will be made in late December. Call it wishful thinking but I'm optimistic.
Thoughts? Opinions?
There's no other way out of this...

I have no problem with this fight but it has to be free. No way am I paying to watch this. It could be like one of those Sergio Martinez/Bum of the Week fights HBO like to showcase.
Can we stop saying Khan has the speed to match Mayweather. First, it's not true, and Khan was out hustled by two of the slowest boxers out there, Maidana and Peterson. How is he going to hang with Mayweather?
The only way Khan wins this is if the judges for this fight are the same ones from the '96 Olympics and CJ Ross, or Khan decides to deliver ALL his punches below the belt and hope to get a KO like he did against Judah.
Here I go again...
The only lucrative reason to have a Khan fight would be the venue in London -- namely the Wembley stadium.
But such a fight can't be made in May... Because the fight should be scheduled very late, during the night (in order to be aired in the U.S.)... And nights in London are quite cold during the month of May... Then...
