Heard this fight might be on.. Lets say Khan beats Mayweather by some crazy long shot, how big an upset would that be?
Tyson beat by Douglas.. Ali beat by Spinks.. etc..... ?
Where you place it on an all time upset list?
It would be the greatest upset of all time, acording to all the young kids, and mayweather nutsuckers because to them Floyd is GOAT and the dont know better.
When tyson lost it was like God had died, it was a shock to the world, and every newspapir wrote about it for weeks after.
people need to remember that pre 2000 heavyweights were completly dominating the media, and the thing about heavyweights is that if you become a dominating champion( not named klitscho) you are considdered the baddest man on earth.
In other words if floyd was a heavyweight and had as dominating a carreer has he has had in the lower weightclasses, and he would get beat by Kahn, it would be the closest thing to the deatg of the president of america.
Khan is talented but I just don't see him as the same level as Mayweather. Khan will probably start fast looking flashy while probably missing at the same time but I can see Mayweathers accurate counters and shots making khan reluctant to throw. Especially with that chin of his. And we haven't even seen Mayweathers true third gear and this is coming from a Mayweather hater. I just don't see khan not being lost in there after round 4. It always happens. I just don't think khan is the one to put Mayweather.. At all lol
But if he did.. Lmaoo I'd laugh . Cause you basically lost to a guy who wasn't even on your jockstrap to begin with .
First off, some people think Mayweather is fast....I don't think so. As a matter of fact against a guy with real speed (Judah) Mayweather needed a couple of rounds to adjust. Mayweather is quick, untelegraphed and has incredibly economic movement....all great attributes which win him fights and the hearts of punch stat people but how does this translate against Kahn?
Kahn's chin is not an issue. Mayweather is not usually a chin tapper. Kahn could conceivably go into a fight with Mayweather and not worry about being KO'ed. Also remember...Kahn handled the speed and power of Judah pretty easily.
Kahn has the reach and a jab. Mayweather's style has some built in weaknesses against a good jab. namely, when using a shoulder roll the counter depends on swinging in with the back hand. This works great against a committed attack, not so good against a jab. Oscar gave Mayweather fits for a while with his jab.
Kahn has two attributes which have been shown in fights to trouble Mayweather. Kahn is strong enough not to get bullied around the ring by Floyd, and has nothing to really fear from Floyd. Kahn can keep Floyd honest with his speed and reach.
The only thing I agree about is that Khan is stylistically and athletically gifted enough to shock Floyd. But as of right now, it would be a major upset, not really predictable unless the 24/7's show Floyd dicking around in training came
First, Floyd is very fast. All that untelegraphed and economic stuff he does is simply MAGNIFIED by his speed. He needed a few rounds to adjust to lots of fighters, not just Judah, and it wasn't entirely becuz of Judah's speed... I mean, he needed more than a few to fully adjust to Oscar, and Oscar wasn't as fast as Judah.
Mayweather doesn't hurt guys like Guerrero, Canelo becuz they have very solid chins. Mosley, has a great chin and that's the only thing that saved him from getting stopped. He's no power puncher, but he stunned Cotto and Oscar a couple times, and those guys have solid chins. My point being, if he catches Khan coming in at the right time with the right punch, he could conceivably hurt Khan, could build from their toward a KO. Julio Diaz, man... Julio Diaz
Nothing really to say about the jab, other than he doesn't shoulder roll in the middle of the ring which is where he'll most likely find trouble from a jab... He'll be using a pull back counter, or (after getting tagged a few times) get in a peekaboo guard... And its pretty much common knowledge Khan is openly vulnerable to left hooks when he jabs, so this shouldn't be more than a minor annoyance for a few rounds
Khan's reach is 71, Floyd's is 72... Sooo
And I know this one is minor, but Canelo was having trouble bullying Floyd, so Floyd should be able to outmuscle Khan... Like I said, minor, but its still all about accuracy when making these predictions.
It would arguably be the highest profile upset of all time, but definitely not the biggest. Ishida's first round KO over Kirkland or Pong's loss to Sonny Boy Jaro were easily bigger upsets.
When Douglas beat Tyson there was a chorus of professional boxing men who proclaimed how a long reached, somewhat mobile big man was always going to be Tyson's achilles heal. Tyson had a few rocky fights before with big men, but none had the jab that Douglas had that night. Razor Ruddock, BoneCrusher Smith, Frank Bruno....on the other hand Holmes was not doing bad...essentially using a jab until Tyson got him in the 6th round or so. Despite this information...which was available to the casual fan and pundit alike....and despite the fact that Tyson had not fought all these fights before Douglas...people reckognized how incredible the upset was.
With Mayweather I believe a lot of people can see that Kahn is a stlistic nightmare for Floyd. I would be amazed if this fight happens. But if it does, and despite the fact that Kahn would achieve a remarkable upset...It should not be a suprise.

Khan doesn't have a great nor is his reach longer than Floyds. The reason he will probably get Ko'd by a check hook is because Khan upper body usually gets to the target before his feet does
