I've been a member here for a long time and hardly ever post anything. I usually just come through to see everyones opinions here. Now I would like to state my own. The Reason why I believe Floyd would beat PacMan if they ever fight is because Marquez has already shown a way to be effective against Pac. I think Floyd will easily mimmic that style perfectly and even better without making the mistakes Marquez has. The problem with Marquez is he would box beautifully but then get carries away and get caught up in a brawl with PAC and then get caught. Floyd it to smart to let PAC fight the fight that he would want. Floyd will play it real safe and easily cruise to a UD using the same style Marquez has without making the mistakes. PAC will not bring out a macho man type style out of Floyd at any point in the fight to catch him and that's pacs only chance but it will never come. I'm not a fan of either fighter but this is just how I think the fight will go. Mayweather UD and he will boast how he beat the living he'll out of PAC but really only winning a UD by playing it safe. Either way a win is a win and it would be a huge one for Floyd no matter how he wins. The reason because Floyds beat him is simply skill... I wanted the Marquez fight to just see if Pacquiao had improved like everyone said - as everyone I thought that Marquez would get hit too and that the weight would be too much so that the fight would have to be stopped around the 8th round... I wanted to see the new improved right hand - the new defense skill etc. and I not saw a right hand - I even almost not saw a left hand - I saw no better balance - he was getting hit with straight rights all nights etc. to tell you the truth I felt he ain't improved - I felt he is worst then he was in 2008 against Marquez skill wise... that comes if you only fight punching bags with no skill... you are getting used to it - the old Manny would have started hell in the ring to finally get to Marquez - the new Manny not even tried to because he knew Marquez would counter him, hurt him and push him away with punches... The reason why Mayweather wins is skill... as Marquez Mayweather has his foot always ready for the back peddle... Pacquiao will look more descent against Mayweather - because Mayweather will back peddle and let Manny punch air without countering every time... Pacquiao has a punchers chance for the first 3 rounds after that Floyd will dominate him brutally... Manny will say he had cramps again (seems like his new reasoning for being not able to ko someone)... Anyone who actually thinks that Pacquiao could win a decision against Mayweather has no clue whatsoever or knows something about judges been payed off up front

I hope i can re-post your post after the fight gets signed, 100% agree with your 3 stage theory here, I could just insert Mosley's name in all those stages and thats exactly what happened with Mosley-Mayweather, Mayweather-Hatton but as soon as the fight gets signed then Mayweather picked the easy option. A loss for Floyd would be devasting because being undefeated is his only claim to greatness, without that, he's got nothing. Yeah, right - 5 division champion, beat about 15 world champions, recognized as the best or second best fighter of his generation, the best or second best fighter at 130 of all time but yes, sure your right... Only because Pacquiao has NOW decided he wants to fight, Floyd has now to come out of holiday, spending time with his family, because Pacquiao has now decided??? It's nice and I want the fight too, but the next fight of Pacquiao should be in November - 5 Months - so where is the problem??? Floyd ain't got to make his decision yet - he has time - so where is the problem - I know you guys are in crying stage 1 but where is the problem... Mayweather waited for this oppurtinity his whole life - this is the fight which makes him the best of his time - finally an opponent who is respected at the weight, in his prime, even more accolades then him, seems unbeatable - this is his life - this is the moment he knows it - everybody knows it - this is not Pacquiao's fight, this is Mayweather's fight

I know it was just one fight fight but i thought he looked very good what do you think of the new polished up cotto. he has a great jab tbh, one of the best at the moment Cotto will always have a problem like most boxers do - if somebody doesn't fight his pace he will have problems... There only a few fighters right now who can fight every rhythym - most boxers today can only fight their own rhythym. Against guys like Pac, Margarito he will always loose, because he doesn't decide at which rhythym... I have the video right down to the second where Klitschko is wobbled. He does have a weak chin, not stamina issues. IMO Foreman would definitely stop him because Foreman has only been stopped by Ali in his entire career. Foreman hits like a train, Wladimir chin would never, ever be able to stand up to Foremans punches. Pulev has 11 KO's from 20 wins, if Foreman caught Wladimir with the jab in the video Wladimir goes down. The funny thing is that nobody mentioned it. specially if theyre interested in watching boxing classics Probably would go with the Chaves fight. To me it pretty much summed up what Mayweather was capable at his normal weight range. Chaves isn't a great but he foughts great and did a solid job. I believe he lost his first fight or something and than won 30 straight before Mayweather. Mayweather started off slugging with him... than boxed beautiful and tired him out - and than went for the kill and actually stopped him. He took some punches, he showed great defense, he showed great ring generalship and as we know it is always tough to stop a game mexican. Also of course the Corrales fight - I mean ppl tend to forget that Mayweather wasn't such a favorite against Corrales. He was a mean punching machine. And Mayweather dominated him beautifully, knocked him down many times and just put up a clinic. The Cotto fight. I mean Cotto really brought it to Mayweather and was competive almost every round and Floyd really accepted the challenge and I thought he almost won every round even though Cotto was in every round. It sounds crazy but Floyd in almost every round was just a tad better. Great display in the art called prizeboxing by both of them. The Gatti fight not because it was competive - it wasn't. But it was a big step for Floyd in his career. He actually was still very hungry and probably one of his finest performance in putting together combinations and defense - he really gave it to the gutsy but skill wise inferior Gatti. A few other fights come to mind as well - but probably a good start to get an overall feel for Mayweather

Don't expect much. People (mostly Brits, who were still butthurt over Haye) discredited Povetkin before and after the Klitschko fight, but he's made an impressive comeback. Pulev is nowhere near as technically gifted as Povetkin. He won't feature again in a HW title bout, IMO. Povetkin, meanwhile, will be back with a bang! I do disagree big time. Povetkin has a lot of heart but he is more of a hooker. Of course if his opponent isn't Klitschko he can do damage but if Pulev would actually fight Povetkin I would take Pulev. Povetkin more than once showed me that he or better said his conditioning is more that of a four round fighter. If he does enough damage the first few rounds he can get away with it. I still remember him against Huck. I mean he was done after four rounds and should be happy that Huck just couldn't know him out. Huck is a CW and has not really so much boxing ability. If you look at Pulev though. You see a very smart fighter. A fighter that gets stronger with every round usually. He has a nice way of mixing his right into it. Povetkin though has fought stiffer competition but from what I've seen from Pulev and Povetkin I would take Pulev all day over Povetkin. If it is a four round fight it maybe different There should be a good chance that these two fight each other in the future - and that should clarify matters on that front :-D

It's good to see HW boxing getting attention here and Wlad had a good night, obviously some of you here are speaking sense, some are overhyping and some are just hating, so, who thinks Pulev ranks as one of Wlad's top 10 wins? This in terms of Pulev's accomplishments, his overall ability and perceived threat to the champ? This is not a shiit talk thread on him. It's a serious question. I was watching Benn-McClellan on youtube, and there were some mixed responses. Given what he did (dog fighting, animal abuse), how many of you feel bad, and how many of you think he deserved it or it's karma? Me, personally, I think it's horrible what he did, but at the same time, that kind of stuff is a culture in certain areas. It doesn't make it right though. It's still upsetting to see people end up the way he did. It is what it is. If you are a boxer you pretty much know the risk. But he is a good example because why I laugh about ppl who cry that real boxers aren't warriors - scarred or stuff like that. These ppl want to see that they let their life in the ring and after they did what then??? Nobody cares about them anymore. Nobody pays their bills from medical care etc. For what should they let their life in the ring. If a fighter chooses too ok but if a fighter quits in a fight because he takes a beating and he knows he has no chance I also have no problem if he quits. This doesn't decide if you are warrior. I mean you would never call Morales a quitter and he quit against Pacquiao III. Sometimes you need to know what is best for yourselves. With McClellan as I heard he already had a brain injury or something like that from sparring but nobody noticed it and well, what happened is sad. But in a sport like boxing where the goal is to hit someone you can't expect that your health will be 100% after you're done

I learned that Khan needs to decide what he wants to do in the ring... Does he want to box - does he want to move - does he want to fight inside (can he fight inside?)... does he wants to punch with power or pitty-pat etc. If he fight in no particular style and you can't dominate your opponent I would feel that the other guy is winning the ring generalship battle and is deciding what happens in the ring. Lamont tried to be a boxer the first two rounds and after that he came forward and pressured Khan - landed bodyshots etc. Khan starting his usual stuff with jumping in - some combos and back out. He stood his ground. Then he backpeddled - no stiff jab to control the pace... there is simply no blue print on what he is doing in the ring or trying to establish and if you fight a guy who is good conditioned, can take your punch and is coming forward in a fight that Khan ain't dominated you can loose - the decuctions of course had a part in it as well but still... Khan should decide what he wants to do in the ring. Set a pattern that judges can look for. I personally felt he landed cleaner and probably also the better shots but if you get outworked, holding on the inside it can be lost by the judges... I mean I couldn't tell what Khan's plan exactly was after 12 rounds - Peterson plan was obvious starting with the 3rd round.

This is a technique that was introduced by so called ''Pacterds'' to convince ppl of two things a) Floyd lost a fight b) Manny won a fight I'm not so sure if Pacterds actually watch anything else then Pacquiao and Mayweather and neither one of them fought yesterday so the answer has to be no :-)

Slow motion doesn't apply for any fight, the fight is judged on what your human eye witnesses, the fight is not judged on a slow motion replay. You are talking like a casual boxing fan dude :-) Don't tell me that - tell the ''Pactards'' :-)

If anyone knows how to contact the Pac Clan people and get them to use their slo mo technologies hopefully we can gain the needed insight into the fight to justify and/or clarify the situation. I hope so too - probably pinoy lounge? Because actually I was enjoying the fight so much that I completely forgot to make a score. At the end I had a feeling that Khan won but I couldn't say 100% why... so this time around a slow-mo rewatch from the experts could help at least me to form a opinion :-)

I can't think of a thing he did right. * Pre Fight - takes more time shouting his lame catch phrase than giving instructions to the two fighters * Round 1 - puts himself in a bad position and trips up Peterson. * Round 1 - scores a knockdown against Peterson incorrectly. * Round 7 - deducts a point from Khan having not given a hard warning about pushing. * Round 12 - deducts a second point from Khan, again without a hard warning. * All Fight Long - inconsistent with pushing. It's ok for Peterson to push Khan against the ropes. It's ok for Peterson to hold and hit Lennox Lewis style. It's not ok for Khan to push Peterson. Peterson was awesome and I don't begrudge him the victory, but it's a real shame that those two point deductions decided the fight. The best referees are barely noticed, except in tough call situations, and Joe Cooper seemed to want the attention. Terrible performance. I have to agree that ref was very special - let's put it that way... Many things were questionable I felt and especially to deduct a point in the 12th round. Both fighters gave their all and I felt that Khan did nothing what he ain't done before and wasn't deducted a point for. If there is a glaring thing against the rules then of course you deduct a point in the 12th round but anything else I'm always against it to deduct a point in the 12th round if it is not like a said a real bad situation against the rules... if both fighters came to 12th they should finish it by themselves and the ref should not make himself a part of the result. And looking at the cards I believe Peterson won on two cards on 1 point - so if this deduction doesn't happen we have a Majority Draw... so yes, it is what it is

He deserved to lose. even emmanuel steward thinks he didnt do enough to take the belt I got news for you dude... this sport is called ''boxing'' and not ''every opponent has to stand stiff life a punching bag in front of Pacquiao so he is able to win'' - Marquez was always at punching distance and even mixed it up with Pac if he wanted to and in most cases he got the better of it as well... Just fanboys - be ashamed you are not a boxing fan... Pac got schooled and if he cannot come up with somethig better Mayweather will wipe the bottom with him... if Marquez schools him, Mayweather takes him to pre-school

Man up time. I think everyone needs to apologize for disrespecting a legend in Marquez by selling him short against Pacquiao. I see a lot of debate as to who won etc. but what I don't see is posters stating how off they were via all the 1st round and under 8th round KO predictions. I honestly predicted a 5 round beat down but after last Saturday I realize that these guys are made for each other and will always produce close fights. I gained a new level of respect for Marquez Saturday night, and I admit I was severly off in my prediction. I give him all the credit in the world - I just thought that it would be good for a few rounds but I was expecting that Pacquiao actually lands some shots on him and that it would be too much around the 8th round (cuts and stuff) and that the ref would stop it... but boy did I was wrong - it was the easiest fight of the 3 for him - he wasn't even bleeding - he masterfully controlled the pace and distance - everything that happened because of Marquez doing or because he wanted to trade (and in most case had the last punch that backed Pacquiao off) landed the cleaner and harder punches - make Pacquiao quit in the process from round 9 on... and totally schooled him with simply basic boxing... All credit in the world to Marquez... even though I always wanted to see May-Pac and a defeat of Pacquiao would have taken a lot away - even though he got the decision everybody knows he lost... I just feel sorry for Marquez... You can have the first how you want and the second fight how you want - but the third fight was crystal clear - my utmost Respect to Marquez - he made Pacquiao look like an amateur

This fight was NOT close at all I mean not close you can argue that Marquez won 10 of the 12 rounds here I have it 9 rounds to 1 and 2 rounds even give those even rounds to pac so the haters dont hate 9 rounds to 3 Marquez WOW - I've never thought I would every say this to YOU but well... I absolutely agree... This fight wasn't close... like I said before in the first two fights Marquez was the better ring general but Pacquiao landed the harder shots - you can score the way on what you like and prefer in boxing... that's why there are scoring criterias... But the third fight - there is none one scoring criteria that you could give to Pacquiao - how swollen a face is, is not a scoring criteria... CompuBox is not a scoring criteria... everything that happened in the ring happened because Marquez wanted it too or allowed it too (exchanges)... he was the better ring general - he landed cleaner and harder - beautiful mastery of controlling the distance - there is no way you can give Pacquiao more then 4 rounds in this fight - no way whatsoever... At least I can say to you today - you maybe dislike Floyd which is ok... but at least you seem to be a boxing fan and not some blind worshipper sir By the way where is Jack?
