Fact number one.
The KHAN era is upon us. And he is a good fighter, in due time. He's gutsy he ballsy he has a little swag.
Fact two.
He has to carve out his own style and elements of what works with his style have been seen in the last 3 fights. Body Shot he landed on Midana, The ability to make it a rougher fight against that British guy, and his fleet footedess (Peterson) is a good thing when he lands clean.
Fact three.
He didn't get jobbed. He lost that fight. Though he is the better fighter of the two Peterson did adjust Khan did not.
Fact four.
Freddy roach as a coach is very limited. Everyone now has seen his prototype style. He did it with Manny now he is doing it with KHAN. They are pretty much the same fighter and it's the limited knowledge of Roach that is holding Amir back.
fact five.
Amir needs to learn to fight on the inside or at least rip the body the way he did so successfully he did against Miadana. He has very good leverage to the body that he is not using.
Fact six.
Bradley is a lil ***** by talking smack about Khan post fight. If he knew he could have been him, he should have taken the fight. Bradley "desert storm" Whiffed huge on that potential fight. He will have one, But, Amir will become a more accomplished fighter and in that ,will, be punished because of that fatal error. Boxing is about inches and he should have capitalized when the opportunity presented itself. Mark my words! (miadana body shot)
Fact seven.
KHAN has a chin, but should not put it on display.
words in passing.
A loss means nothing especially in a fight that raised both fighters stock. Khan now needs to mature as a fighter and not a boxer inside the ring, antics like he did against Peterson trying to mimic Floyd Mayweather / Manny Pacquaio body language is not conducive to his success. He needs to focus in on what he does best and what he does not do that well and bridge that gap and let the fans praise him for what he is doing not what he is trying to prove. Huge difference.
Just my thoughts.
Khan looked very amateur running around and wasting too much energy. It could have been worse for him if Peterson would have cut off the ring and kept him against the ropes more, and had he used more jabs. Khan lacked defense and counter punching, and as a result he lost his composure, started fighting dirty. Too much holding, pushing, leaning on Peterson's head/back and a couple of headlocks. No excuses for the point deductions. Peterson made the mistake by giving away what worked against him- pressure. If there is a rematch look for Khan being the aggressor if he can pull it off but Peterson's got his number.
I learned that Khan needs to decide what he wants to do in the ring...
Does he want to box - does he want to move - does he want to fight inside (can he fight inside?)... does he wants to punch with power or pitty-pat etc.
If he fight in no particular style and you can't dominate your opponent I would feel that the other guy is winning the ring generalship battle and is deciding what happens in the ring. Lamont tried to be a boxer the first two rounds and after that he came forward and pressured Khan - landed bodyshots etc. Khan starting his usual stuff with jumping in - some combos and back out. He stood his ground. Then he backpeddled - no stiff jab to control the pace... there is simply no blue print on what he is doing in the ring or trying to establish and if you fight a guy who is good conditioned, can take your punch and is coming forward in a fight that Khan ain't dominated you can loose - the decuctions of course had a part in it as well but still...
Khan should decide what he wants to do in the ring. Set a pattern that judges can look for. I personally felt he landed cleaner and probably also the better shots but if you get outworked, holding on the inside it can be lost by the judges... I mean I couldn't tell what Khan's plan exactly was after 12 rounds - Peterson plan was obvious starting with the 3rd round.
Very keen observation. I agree totally. He seemed he was a frantic fighter that night and never really had a definite pattern to set up his shots once Peterson turned into a pressure fighter.
I think the greater plan was put forth by Petersons team. He put doubt in the mind of Khan that he is the "faster" fighter in the first two rounds which i think threw Khan off his Jab/hook setup. Once that was broken, he fell apart and couldn't establish what he had to do next. Then Peterson keep a pretty steady pressure pace.
Khan needs to work on his Bute style body shot. He has the leverage to be a good med/far Body puncher but is too much of a head hunter.

A long way to go talking about a khan era, but I understand what you mean....
He has potential, but Roach is not a great trainer!!!!! This is painfully obvious to see.....
Roach offers no solid advice at all.... Nut he applies vaseline to his fighters faces excellently lmao..... Khan is gonna have to lose the whining ass attitude as well.... There is a swag there, but there is also a B!TCHNESS TO HIM AS WELL.....
Fukkin complainer, he lost and all he had to do was not push, the ref must be taken serious at all times, and khan feels he's this star that doesnt have to listen.. Hes trying to act as if Lamont was super low... The problem was that Lamont was on his ass and Khan wanted him at the end of his jab. Khans jab was the only category he won in compubox stats wise.... Power shots etc belonged to PETERSON!!!!
HE WAS TALKING ABOUT HE WAS THE CLEANER FIGHTER, DAT SH!T DONT MATTER. PETERSON WAS FIGHTING AND NOT ON HIS BIKE.... WHY WAS KHAN ON HIS BIKE. I SEE SOME GOOD THINGS REGARDING HIM, BUT HE HAS TO KNOW HIS PLACE AS WELL. Floyd would have knocked Amirs ass out Saturday.....
FREDDY'S PISSED BECAUSE HE WANTED TO SACRIFICE AMIR TO MAYWEATHER FIRST IN HOPES OF WINNING THAT FIGHT WITH AMIR OR EXPLOITING THINGS HE WOULD SEE, BUT ITS BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD FOR ROACHES ASS. AMIR BETTER LEAVE ROACH AND LEAVE FAST. IF HE WASNT SH!T AS A FIGHTER, HOW IN THE HELL CAN HE BE A GOOD TRAINER???
YOU CANT TEACH WHAT YOU DONT KNOW...
ROACHES WEAKNESS! high level fighters have high level tactics! Speed is blessing and a curse if it's not used appropriately!

Good post, well thought out.
TRUE.
BUT.
Whoe fault is that Khan the fighter or ROACH the trainer. Look at all his star pupils Manny, That mexican dude I can't remember but he lost recently, and KHAN. they all fight the same... it's scary... and i think highlights how none versatile ROACH truly is.
Its all Khan's. He the one in the ring, showing off while getting pummeled, running around and covering on the ropes and getting hit. Its all signs of immaturity. Same with Linares, he was boxing Demarco's socks off in the first 9-10 rounds and then just breaks down.
People need to stop blaming Roach. Khan is the fighter in the ring and was the one making the childish mistakes.
Those arent facts.
The only facts I learnt (or more like confirmed) was -
1. Khan has no inside game at all, zero!
2. Khan's footwork is still terrible, he has quick feet but not good feet. ALWAYS off balance and cant punch on the back foot.
There is no Khan era coming, he isnt an Elite fighter and is very overrated.
If he keeps fighting like that his era will be over before it begins.
Those style of fights are taxing on the body.
He needs to watch a little Oscar to learn how to stay off the ropes.

khan era? i guarantee u, there will never be a khan era. hes nowhere near good enough for that.
Dude has allot of great possibility. fast fast not quick good footwork. he just needs to put elements together into a complete fight. he has holes for sure! but look what he was 3 years ago... allot of change in mentality as well as work ethic. All i can say he is a fighter ROACH is his TRAINER and it's up to the TRAINER to supply a good gameplan which he DID NOT DO.
