It's good to see HW boxing getting attention here and Wlad had a good night, obviously some of you here are speaking sense, some are overhyping and some are just hating, so, who thinks Pulev ranks as one of Wlad's top 10 wins? This in terms of Pulev's accomplishments, his overall ability and perceived threat to the champ?
I'll try and list better wins for Wlad:
Byrd
Haye
Povetkin
Peter
Thompson 1
Chambers
Chagaev
possibly ibragimov
.... think I'd find space for Pulev up there then.
Is he really a top ten win for Wlad? I don't follow the heavy weight division at all, but if it is a top ten win than that's freakin sad. It's not the Klits fault that the heavyweight division is such sht but dam. I saw the fight and that dude is weak sauce, sht even Rios has more to offer then that dude
Tony Thompson
Alexander Povetkin
David Haye
Kubrat Pulev
Chris Byrd
Lamon Brewster
Calvin Brock
Samuel Peters
Sultan Ibragimov
Ray Mercer
That's what I think his top ten best wins are.
Chagaev beat Valuev more convincingly than Haye did,no entry for him ? He also went toe to toe Povetkinlosing a tight decision to a far superior boxer than Haye.who has Haye fought bar Valuev and defeated besides the guy who was outboxed by Vitali in his penultimate fight without his left arm ?
your original point was that u tried ****ting on pulev by saying he wasnt top 5, then u couldnt name 5 guys better than him, try saying one isnt retired when he clearly stated he was (although he has spoken of a come back) and the other guy isn't leagues ahead or behind of pulev.
fact is, even the guys who may be considered better than pulev arent that much better. so whats ur point again?
I literally just named 5 fighters I think should rank above Pulev.
And damn right I'm sh*tting on Pulev, because he isn't worth any of the hype he received going into this fight.
Pretty sure Haye isn't retired, just an idiot who pulls out of fights left and right. Last I heard he's still fighting, and Haye is still one of the 3 best fighters in the division when he actually fights.
What's the difference between beating Helenius and beating a very old Tony Thompson? That's Chisora and Pulev's best wins. Not much difference IMO. Chisora also beat Scott. Fury was fat, but Chisora was even fatter. Both guys rededicated themselves and became better fighters after that. Not to mention both guys were still early in their careers. Fury will probably beat him again, but Fury is a top 5 HW too for what it's worth.
I'll take Chisora, who has been competitive with and beaten top more heavyweights than Pulev, who beat Thompson and looked horrible against Wlad.

haye? the guy is retired lol wtf
chisora has lost all meaningful fights, id definitely have him top 10 but he just cant be top 5, no way. if he beats fury then maybe but a fat fury beat him before, this fury will beat him too.

David Haye. Like I said, Chisora has done as much as Pulev and didn't sh*t the bed when he fought a Klitschko.
I'm not saying Pulev definitely isn't top 5, but it's kind of sad that he might be.

you don't think pulev is a top 5 heavyweight?
name 5 that are better, I'll help you out:
Fury
Stiverne
Povetkin
Now you else will you add in there? Chisora? Helenius? Glazkov? Wilder?

mercer, brewster and brock are seriously up there?
See, how is he a worthy top 5 in the division? He's literally only beaten Tony Thompson. That's it. This was his first fight against anyone truly good and he was awful. Hell, even Chisora has done more than Pulev, and when he fought a Klitschko, he didn't look like garbage in the process.
This was Pulev's first chance to prove he was any good. He didn't.

Vladimir is getting close to Lennox, in every aspect. When you scrutinize the resume of Lennox, it isn't that stellar, and Vlad already is way past him longevity-wise.
If Wladimir had fought Lennox Lewis he would have got knocked out straight away and thats nothing against Wlad or anything for him to be ashamed of, i gave him credit for his win against Pulev and Wladimir is the champion now so you can't take that away from him.
Tony Thompson
Alexander Povetkin

We actually agree on something! too bad for Vlad that no matter how you color a sows ear silk it will never be.

Decent list of opponents for any solid contender.
You could sort of morph Chambers, Chagaev, Ibragimov, Povetkin and Pulov together....Professional powder fisted opponents who pose no serious threat whatsoever. Peter has been proved to be a bust, Thompson is good but old, he would be a gatekeeper in a decent heavyweight division....which he kinda is here except that in this case he has prevented quite a few from entering the gates haha. Byrd and Haye are decent wins but not exceptional.
Vlad should perhaps rematch Haye and start fighting the young lions!
Wouldn't call Povetkin a powderfist. He's got power and he's a good fighter. Wlad just clinched too much for him to actually show it.

Pulev rocked Wlad with a jab once, he also has a good chin to get up.
Otherwise, his feet were like they were encased in cement blocks, basically a stand in front of you face first guy. Couldnt adapt or counter.
Most of the hw division is pretty weak, its like they are all journeymen basically except a few.

Except he was knocked clean out by James Smith, and downed by Tyson in round one of 89. Not sure if Witherspoon put him down or just had him out on his feet. Anyway.. WRONG.
You do know I'm talking about Tucker, not Ruddock, right?
Yeah, which was the best win of his career? :lol1:
I'm not saying it's amazing stuff, but that was his career best, he was ranked #1 by the WBC and Lennox was the first to put him down. He clearly wasn't old as you stated.

The only thing Bruno did post Lennox was beat McCall
Ruddock wasn't old at 29 but he did nothing post Lennox
Tucker's best win during this career high point is a SD over McCall. Orlin Norris, Bigfoot Martin, amazing stuff

Yeah you're right, Ruddock wasn't old.
You can play this game with literally any resume.

Not really, he's actually far behind in every category.
