Spence isn't very fast. He fights coming forward. His wide punches leave his static head open for counters. From the videos, it looks like Mikey plans to use a lot of lateral movement, and defense, to outbox Spence. Huh? Spence, wide? Smh.

The best ever display of skill on the double hand bag, i have ever seen was? From Roy Jones Junior! Jones actually throws power punches and is able to land them on the bag with precision! Mayweather is impressive, but i don't think he has the natural innate co-ordionatin of Roy Jones Junior. Mosley, by far. Uses a much larger variety of punches, catching it at all angles. Roys hook hook hook is easy, as the bag is literally ping ponging between his fists. Mosley used everything here, and looks tremendous on the double end bag. Not to mention, this is a very small bag and extremely loose.

My problem with this fight is how the judges and general boxing public are scoring fights. It seems general concensus from most people that williams won this fight clearly in the 3 rounds we witnessed.... Frankly I dont see how. Williams plods forward and lands very little - his jab falls short and he is out of range time and time again. Cintron is moving beautifully, avoiding the jab and landing a good jab of his own. He is countering well and generally landing the cleaner shots. Have we now got to a point where a fighter is judged to win a round because he moves forward and holds the centre of the ring?? Hell no. Floyd has walked down every southpaw he's fought and Spinks is the lightest puncher. He also is more offensive minded against Southpaws. He will be walking him down and Spinks would be trying to counter. I think its just like the Floyd-Zab, Zab-Spinks fights. yeah buut he has good footwork i think he can try to learn some things about those boxers...he doesnt have to imitate them completely Paulie crosses his feet virtually all fight long. This isn't good footwork. I think he wants to study people who do things by the book, as originally taught in the gym. Paulie and many others have poor boxing fundementals, but they get the job done.

early fights of floyd are acctually good to study, he fought way more conventional there. i would highly reccomend watching his amateur fights, he fights more conventional and also has a style fitted for the amateur ranks. ike quartey would be good, de la hoya too. chad dawson hasnt been mentioned as a lefty. donald curry, marlon starling, davey moore etc I'd go winky before Quartey and Clottey because winky would slip and swat punches as well. Ike and Clottey would on occasion just absorb. a bad habbit to pick up imo. Sturm, Dzi, and Winky are probably the better conventional stances to watch.

Williams would have turned up the heat going for broke, and kermit would have done so as well (more opportunities to counter). He had the perfect place. Keep Paul respectful, and preserve energy for when he tries to unleash. Paul had a gameplan that was put in by his trainer which in my eyes was smart Cintron and ronny shields watched PWill last 2 fights expecting him to come out reckless cause Cintron was just waiting for the long left hand counter shots with the right hand all night he didn't do shit in rd 4 Paul almost knocked his ass down you can't throw 100 punches every round every fight cintron got closer to knocking paul down actually....

You really think Vitali looked nearly as sharp as he did for the Sam Peter fight? Yes, i do. Considering his opponent may not be peters caliber but he did things that unsettle vitali more than anything sam would do. He also made it more competitive. he used his jab, he actually blocked and pushed punches away when he could, and he tried to counter on occasion. Peters did none of this, so the fight wasn't complicated at all. Vitali also showed a few subtle differences. less feinting, more pivoting. he was bringing his right hand over jabs. he was punching at the appropriate time instead of his usual wreckless offense (effective, but wreckless) and catching sos just before sos got off instead of not letting him. He did a lot of things he normally doesn't do in matches, albiet subtle, if you know your stuff, you know what to look for. I was actually impressed with vitali today despite the level of his opponent, because he was doing some by the book things and wasn't the incredibly awkward fighter he's known for. I saw poise from vitali, usually he fights as if he's overally cautious. leaving his hands out there too long to create distance, or pulling his head back instantly after throwing even when nothing is coming his way. Just overcautious stuff that looks weird. It was none of that this time. He pulled back only when he had to, he was comfortable pushing blocking punches and such, the list of things go on. Actually pay attention to the man, the subtle things are the biggest.

The Brisbing fight was dope though... You gotta respect fighters man no matter if they box or do MMA.... If MMA gets their stand up right, and I think its getting better, it will only get better for MMA. I think their conditioning as far as putting in work in is starting to rival that of boxing and it is getting more scientific I noticed. Unless somebody has followed both of their careers then how can anyone say anything? Ray was obviously a fantastic fighter else he wouldnt be held in such high regard but Ive only seen like 3 of his fights and one was where he lost to Randolf Turpin... now I dont know if Ray was 100% in this fight or what but if Turpin could beat him then why cant other people beat him? Ive always said the fighters of today are better than the fighters of yesterday in skill and fitness because we know more about health, fitness and sport science. I dont know who would have won and neither does anyone because its impossible to tell but I do know Mayweather is an extra special boxer and i dont think anyone has mastered the "art of boxing" as good as he has. Maybe some of ya'll dont understand boxing but how often has Winky been out jabbed? Great jabbers dont let opponents out jab or beat them with a jab. Oscar's jab is overrated. I box for a living, turning pro in august..... Winky isn't just a good jabber, he's one of the better defenders in the history of his division and the sport as a whole. Paulie Malignaggi has a great jab, but he doesn't handle jabs well. Fernando Vargas has a great jab but doesn't handle them well. Ike Quartey's jab is damn near unrivaled but he'd freeze up when a jab was coming back at him, in his shell Winky is also a southpaw, btw. Tricky situation for manny mean, they won't outjab a good southpaw jab.
