ali was knocked down by proper hard punches but he always got up.
everybody can be knocked down or out if they are hit flush in the right place. he did have one of the best chins in boxing history. he never got knocked out and in the one stoppage he has his corner threw in the towel
ts you must seriously be out of your mind to state that without having the slightest knowledge of what boxing was like in the past and of actually knowing anything about the ATGs'!
pac was never dominant in one division. he got a belt, often not the undisputed belt (like when he fought david diaz who had one belt instead of nate campbell who at the time was considered to be the real champ at 135. he picked the easier option in diaz) and then moved on to another weight class.
pacman is great but you can't seriously compare him to sugar ray robinson.
stuff like that pisses me off!! why can't the best fight the best?! if bradley beat alexander he would get much bigger fights. but i don't think he will beat alexander.
bradley is in no position to demand huge money fights until he beats the best at 140.
UFC/MMA is not a true art it is just pure violence, how long do you think it will be around? How many shows will they do? Do you think there will be a UFC 400? That is the lamest way to name an event by number.
i am more of a boxing fan than an mma fan, but are you aware of the fact that boxing is a lot worse for your brain and health in general than mma?! you constantly get hit in the head and if you go down you have the chance to get up again.
in mma you can get submitted (which is better for your health than getting knocked out since you can tap out and don't get hit)
and if you get knocked down the fight can be pretty much over because you don't have any time to recover. so you may get hit 1 or 2 more times when you're down and it's over. as opposed to getting up get hit 50 times again.
there are many studies that prove that mma is better for your health than boxing.
mma takes a lot of dedication and skill. you have to train multiple arts at the same time. these people are professional athletes just like boxers are.
i don't know why people have to be so ignorant?!
i absolutely do not care anymore about who wants it more who is right, whose fault it is that the fight hasn't happened yet or who ducked who.
i just want them to get in the ring and fight!!
If you don't watch it why do you think its so horrible? Because you dont understand it? It actually takes a lot of discipline to become proficient in different forms of fighting i.e. jiu jitsu, wrestling, and striking then implementing them all simultaneously. The fact the sport continuously grows shows there is clearly an interest in it.
co-sign!
i can't stand people who talk shit about things they don't know anything about!
which studies are these? we can not know yet as mma fighters arent old enough to know the long lasting damage
well, you don't have to be a genius to know that getting hit in the head 500 times in a fight is worse for than getting hit 50 times.

this an article on injuries in mma. it's pretty long though.
this is the conclusion of it:
The overall injury rate in
MMA competitions is now similar to other combat
sports, including boxing. Knockout rates are lower
in MMA competitions than in boxing. This suggests
a reduced risk of TBI in MMA competitions when
compared to other events involving striking.
the type of injuries you suffer in mma are superficial injuries like cuts, busted noses......but you a have a lot smaller chance of getting brain damage since you don't have the repeated blows to the head, in most cases. of course there are always exceptions (and yes there are also mma fighters who are puunch drunk and have taken too much damage) but i'm talking about generally.
like i said before i am a fan of boxing but sometimes i don't mind watching mma too and i'm not interested in the discussions about which sport is better, boxing or mma, but i still think that people should do their research and not just say mma is ''pure violence''.
MMA has rules just like boxing. There is no biting, poking, low blows and any of that sort. MMA is a sport, not pro wrestling.
iin boxing you punch the other guy in the face and in mma you can do that or take him down and submit him.
if you are actually interested in knowing a bit more about mma then check out some brazilian jiu jitsu stuff (ground fighting, submissions) 'cause that is a very very important part of mma.
just for the record, i don't want to make anybody like mma because i prefer watching boxing too, i just want you guys to respect it as a sport
random doesn't mean that they will take blood from the fighters in the week before the fight. travis trygart said that if they felt there is the need to then they would but it just means the fighter can't take anything because there is the possibility that they will be tested.
besides if he is the best then he should just take the ****ing test and knock out mayweather, as simple as that. no need to refuse it.
all olympic athletes have to take that and they also perform to the best of their ability.
Man, you seriously need to let go of his balls! He is very athletic but he isn't that great. Besides , he doesn't use his physical attributes to the max because he is afraid of getting hit. That's why many of his fights are soo boring until he lands one or two good punches. If his head wasn't screwed he could also be one of the most exciting heavyweights since he does have a hell of a lot of power!! IF he lets his hands go he can knock everybody the **** out :-)!
Ali was great for his time but everyone talks shit until 6 foot 7 monster weighing 245lbs of ripped muscled jabs you until your face falls off.
I see slimshady's point. I've never seen a monster of Wlad's (and Vitali's) size be so athletic.
Well i do agree that the klitschkos are extremely athletic for their size but the point is for their size. A young ali or a prime tyson were more athletic than the klitschkos. I do believe that they are great fighters but there have been more athletic fighters in general. But yes, for their size they are the most athletic heavyweights.
I don't think bute will stop hopkins. Hopkins has one hell of a chin!
I really would like hopkins to win but i'm not really sure. This would be a good fight to see if hopkins is finally done or not. I voted for bute by UD because he is a lot younger
and a very good boxer too.
But maybe hopkins will prove all the people wrong again who say that he is too old and shot
Haye by domination ending with a brutal knockout. Yes, he is being a pussy right now but he still is a good fighter, miles better than that fat ass chambers!
There's nothing to ruin with pacman. Even if he losses against (which imo will not happen) floydie the fraud, he's still fotd whereas floydie will still be known as duck of the decade.
if floyd beats manny he will go down as one of the greatest fighters in history and obviously above paquiao so pac can shove his fighter of the decade up his ass.
UD win for mayweather.
if cotto comes in aggressive he'll get countered all night and there is no way he can outbox mayweather. and as we saw in the mosley fight, floyd can take a punch and recover very quickly too, if he gets hit.
Cotto would definitely not beat mayweather. Mayweather is the best fighter right now. If manny beats him then he'll still be the 2nd best behind manny but ahead cotto.
I think he was getting so frustrated with Dirrell whooping his ass, and the borderline "lowblows", and Dirrell hopping around the ring where he couldn't catch him that it all boiled over and he fouled him purposely.
Dirrell was making him look bad I think he was embarrased to say the least.
i think so too.
of course it was in the heat of the moment but that was not like a normal punch. that was even lower than a low blow, he had to reach down to punch him.
it was a pussy move to ask for the OST in the beginning but since many is heavily refusing it it does make him suspicious. there has not been a single fighter when asked about having to do OST who said he wouldn't.
freddie roach stated in an interview that mosley came down to his gym twice and begged him to fight pac at 147. roach refused twice. mosley said that he had let pac fight oscar at 147 why wouldn't roach let him fight pac at 147 too and roach simply said that mosley was better at 147 than oscar.
they would have wanted the fight at 142.
more like you were getting your ass whipped but you got hit while you were down...then in the rematch you got KTFO in the 1st round...
totally agree!
In the post fight interview griffin also said that he won fair and square. Of course that's bullshit. He can't afcept the fact that he got BEAT by roy twice
Definately not.
By the way anderson silva doesn't have that great boxing. He has got great muay thai and pretty good hands.
Bj penn probably has the best boxing in mma. At least that's what freddie roach says.
when david haye starting calling out the klitschkos i was like yeah man!!! i really hate wlads style and i would like to see him KTFO, but it seems like haye doesn't have any intention of fighting either of the klitschkos and that pisses me off bad.
the more stupid excuses i hear from his camp the more respect i lose for him. he should put up or shut up!
you're totally retarded.
a body shot from mayweather would do absolutely nothing. and with a 1 foot hight and 8 inch reach advantage vitali would have to try hard to miss.
