And then Mosley agreed to 140 and they still said no ,,, Shane would have been worse at 140 than what Oscars was taking IV fluids to make 147 when he was 145 lol and they still ducked him ,,, Pac really likes to suck them out , Roach knows how much dragging them down below their weight can really hurt them .
It was a decision not a duck. Fight Cotto or Mosley for what would be Manny's SECOND fight at WW. He picked Cotto...... then Manny wanted Floyd for his 3rd fight. That didn't happen so now he wants Floyd (plan B: Margo) as fight number 4 at WW.
Think clearly. Floyd beat Mosley but Manny wants to fight him. Its called decision making. Fight Floyd, much riskier but better rewards, especially if he wins.
freddie roach stated in an interview that mosley came down to his gym twice and begged him to fight pac at 147. roach refused twice. mosley said that he had let pac fight oscar at 147 why wouldn't roach let him fight pac at 147 too and roach simply said that mosley was better at 147 than oscar.
they would have wanted the fight at 142.

Ah is that what you said , I thought you said Mosley was going on 39 and not the same as the one that just got beat by Cotto , even though you have nothing factual to back that up because Shane KOed his last two opponents , but never the less down you downgrade him from the Cotto fight , he actually could have been better something we will never know ,,,,,,,,,, but If you downgrade Shane you must surely down grade Cotto because he came off a quitting and severe beating by the guy Shane demolished , and was forced to come in lighter than he would , that was done by Roach for a reason so dont blow it off ,,,,comprendi .
Maybe Im dreaming but kinda a see a double standard in your original post concerning Mosley and Cotto .
No double standards. Please reread. I tried to make it clear as I said people need to understand that BOTH Cotto and Mosley would be risky for Manny.
..... yes, I also said, Manny may have faced a different (better) Mosley than Floyd faced. So now you can see that in 2 statements I said something GOOD about Mosley.
I never brought up the point of the Mosley against Cotto versus the Mosley against Floyd..... but if you want to go there, while there were already signs against Cotto, when Mosley fought Floyd, Mosley was NOT the same Mosley.
When you get older you deteriorate. You can slow down the signs but you can't prevent it completely. When Mosley fought Cotto, Mosley had a good chance of defeating Cotto in the late rounds. He was close to doing it and if it was a younger Mosley, he stood a better chance of doing it.
When Floyd fought Mosley, the signs were more apparent and normal since he did age 2.5 more years (since the Cotto fight). Just as important Mosley went in a big fight with another issue called ring rust.
Now going back to Cotto. Of course, Cotto was not the same as before the Margo fight. He was previously undefeated......but taking into consideration the fact that Cotto KNEW he lost to a cheat and that was his ONLY defeat. New that he was the bigger man (against Manny). THE RISK WAS THERE FOR MANNY. As Floyd Sr put it, how can a small Manny dispose of a natural bigger WW in Cotto.
Back to the initial point. This was not a duck. Not even close to being a duck.
Pinoys respects old people like mosley, they don't like embarrassing old people, they'd rather swallow their pride than have the oldies lose face whom they respect.
Pac is pinoy, must be why...
Where did you read that. Please point it out as I do not believe I said that. Right? What I stated was that if Cotto was resilient and beat Manny, one would have concluded differently and said, Cotto figured out he lost to a cheat and still considered himself undefeated.
So possibly it didn't affect him as much as one may conclude. The opponent, Manny, hopes the last loss affects him (Cotto) but that is not always the case.
Cotto started out good in the fight but then Manny took over. Manny was the better man in the fight. Cotto never gave up in the fight. He tried different tactics but nothing worked. It just postponed the inevitable.
........ and as Floyd and company recently pointed out, how can Manny the smaller guy beat the bigger Cotto. So there is truth in that Cotto was a risk for Manny.

Wait wait! Typical Flomo counter on this! What u talking about? Pac DRAINED Cotto down to 145lbs! I guess they forgot, Cotto weighed in at 146lbs for his fight against Clottey. I'm sure that 1lb difference made all the hell in the world :rofl: Fraud, fraud! Fraud! When will they learn? :wtf:
If the one pound was meaningless why was it requested?
And if pacquaio fought mosley at 140 and destroyed mosley that everybody would say pacquaio is ducking cotto. Actually when Mosley spread the fake rumor that pacquaio and him signed a fight that almost all pachater were saying pacquaio is ducking cotto.
At the end of the both Cotto and Shane were equally good. But lets don't act that a brickless Margarito is the same margarito that fought Cotto.
Why did Mosley have to fight at 140? You talk as if it was his choice. Pacquiao's team wouldn't make the fight unless Mosley weighed 142 max. That's a fact.
Now Cotto after Margos beating was the same Cotto that squeeked Shane , is that what your saying , or just another double standard sliding by ?

How the **** did he duck him? By fighting Cotto who beat Mosley.
First of all, the way you ask the question (PED), people will have a hard time believing you really hoping someone will come up with a well thought out reason.
This was not a duck and you all know it. Here is what I think.
Floyd fought a Mosley that was turning 39, had a 1.5 year layoff and was tested for drugs. So my initial point is, this was not the Mosley that Manny was going to fight. He would not have asked for a test and didn't expect a rusty Mosley coming into the ring.
One thing that people need to take into consideration. Whichever fighter Manny would have fought it was a risk for Manny since he is not a natural WW. So Roach has to draw a conclusion, who can Manny fight, in ONLY HIS SECOND FIGHT AT WW, that will bring in big money, have a better chance of winning against and will still be looked as a risky fight amongst the boxing fans.
When they selected Cotto, it was NOT a shoe-in and that Manny was going to roll right over Cotto the way he did. Actually, until Manny knocked him down, Cotto was doing well in the fight. Remember that by this time, Cotto KNEW that he lost to a cheat and could have blamed the loss due to Margos cheating and not his own abilities since he had only lost to Margo. So psychologically, this could have gone against Roaches conclusions.
Another thing is, do you all consider Roach right in everything that he thinks about his opponents? He thinks Manny can now knock Floyd out. So you guys agree about those conclusions?
Or better yet, why don't you include the piece of how Floyd Sr couldn't believe how a small Manny can beat Cotto, the natural WW. So even Floyd and company saw the risk in the Cotto fight!
Now Cotto after Margos beating was the same Cotto that squeeked Shane , is that what your saying , or just another double standard sliding by ?
i love how pactards ignore this elephant in the room
Well, you are ignoring facts and just lumping everyone together......... you are wrong on that as well, I almost never rooted for Manny in his fights but I do call it the way I see it ........
This wouldve been a great fight between 2 great PED users. Manny really ruined the chance for a great fight by declining shanes invitation.

Cotto won a close fight against Mosley and Mosley destroyed Margacheato who made Cotto quit.

Do you understand that I could beat Ali today ,,,,,,,
Roach said Cotto is damaged goods but then they still sucked him down a couple of pounds just for the hec of it ,,, and he was the damaged goods ,, will the real Cotto please stand up , ahm pre Margos cheat beating ,,,,,,
Name value is nothing , what matters is when you beat them in relation to their best , Cotto was damaged goods just the same as Mosley was 38 with Floyd and Clottey was in house , while JMM fought fought Floyd 4 lb heavier than when he fought Manny while Oscar gained 2 pounds after recieving IV fluids to be out weighed by Manny in the fight , Oscar should have had a stone advantage like he had over Floyd ,,,,,,,,
There is skeletons in both fighters closets so dont throw stones from glass houses , if you guys quit with your double standard bullshit the board would be a decent forum instead of the constant dribble day in day out .

Lolz. Catchweight king Pacyaw. At least Floyd did not fight at 144 in the Jmm fight. He moved to 147. This is honorable.
