It's funny how during a recent interview on the BoxingTruth radio
http://www.theboxingtruth.com/listen.php?id=242
how Roger Mayweather belittles Pacquiao, saying how he got beat by Morales and has two knockouts against him, but in the same interview says Manny is on mythological "A-side" meth that according to Roger, Filipinos have been using for 500 years. If this was the case, I think we'd see a whole lot more Pacquiao-like pugulists coming out of that country. The fact is, Puerto Rico, a country with far less people than the Philippines, has exponentially more boxing legends than even famous Filipino boxers Filipinos themselves can name off the top of their heads.
Somewhere along the way, Pacquiao must have found some undetectable PED and started using it. He has such a monopoly on this PED, that no one else seems to know about it.
Really? Really???
The fact is this Pacquiao on PEDS is a misconception resulting from incorrect reasoning by the Mayweathers. It appears to be a built in excuse for Floyd to avoid Pacquiao and if he does eventually fight him, an excuse for losing.
This fallacy is based on certain points:
1) Pacquiao has been growing through the weightclasses.
2) His punching power has increased.
3) His head looks big.
4) He won't take the test without a cutoff.
1) While it is true that Pacquiao have moved from weight division to another, the fact is that from 2006 through 2009, his actual weight has stayed relatively flat.
Here is an article by Avi Korine that needs to be revisited given the constant "Manny is on PEDs" statements:
http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/The_Rumble/entry/view/48832/is_pacquiao_impossible?_why_steroid_accusations_are_baseless
2) Pacquiao has always had power in his left hand.
Here he is at 7 wins, no loses knocking someone silly with a punch that looks like the one that floored Hatton:

What Roach did was develop Manny's right hand after the 1st Morales fight in Pacquiao lost. Manny won the 2nd fight by breaking El Terrible's nose in round 6, effectively bothering Morales the rest of the way. Manny won the 3rd fight with a right hook to Morales's head.
3) All Manny needs is a haircut.
4) Reasons based on principles aside, even Travis Trygart inadvertantly admits that they blood testing was stopped 18 days before the Mayweather-Mosley fight, albeit unannounced, to give athletes the maximum chance to perform.

Pacquaio gave blood samples right before the Morales fight, Pacquiao's last loss. I can see him relating blood tests to losing. A lot of athletes are superstitious (for example, Michael Jordan believes he needs to always wear his UNC shorts for everygame to win)

Manny refusing to take blood tests 14-days before the fight doesn't mean he's hiding something.
I believe Mayweather beats Pacquiao systematically. I think Floyd is making a big mistake not taking this fight because this fight will rank him among Sugar Ray Robinson and Ali, in my opinion. A win for Mayweather will seal his legacy as one of the greatest.
Unfortunately, Floyd talks about retiring and the rest of the Mayweathers continue with the PED theories without any substantial evidence, real or otherwise.
Ironically, this Mayweather PED fallacy just makes Pacquiao look like "the truth".
The only known truth is that Manny Pacquiao, in 56 fights has never failed a drug test ordered by the standing boxing commission.
Mayweather testing demand is even a joke. Conte, the forefather of PEDs, has even said that a year round testing is the best way to detect a PED user. That's why most olympic athletes are tested this way.
Some Floyd fans just want to win this debate that they see Manny accepting the testing is pure crap instead of saying let's get this fight on. These kind of people should be ignored here.
cool didnt mean to get so defensive. i like floyd over pac. id like to see atleast 2 more fights for cotto with steward in his corner before he takes on pac again or floyd. honestly a crisp, sharp cotto i think has the best chance to beat floyd.
No prob man. As a boxing fan, I just want to see the best just fighting the best in the ring.
Cotto now has a new real trainer. He now moves better and looks faster in a weight he looks strong in. That left hook was classic Cotto.
I don't like Margarito coming back, but I would like to see Cotto get his revenge on him, then fight Mayweather.
Remember that busted right rib he suffered during the Marquez training camp. Perfect place for that Cotto left hook. But, I don't see Mayweather trading with Cotto like he did against Mosley, Floyd will get killed. Cotto has a quick jab too, but unlike Mosley, Cotto knows how to destroy a body. Mayweather will probably try to potshot Miguel and run for a UD.
random doesn't mean that they will take blood from the fighters in the week before the fight. travis trygart said that if they felt there is the need to then they would but it just means the fighter can't take anything because there is the possibility that they will be tested.
besides if he is the best then he should just take the ****ing test and knock out mayweather, as simple as that. no need to refuse it.
all olympic athletes have to take that and they also perform to the best of their ability.
True. Cat's out of the bag...PEDs and OSDT are out. What a mess!
i gotcha your against better drug testing because pac said so goodbye ive been in to many of these damn arguements to care anymore. pac fans are against a better form of drug testing because pacquiao says so im out. and btw you never said which lame ass excuse pac gave that your are defending, scared of needles, superstitious, and it weakens him. tatoos, thought he was christian, and hes a world class athlete just like very olympian that takes them including little girls. peace
I'm with you. To me, OSDT is just unnecessary to boxing. You already have duckers, why give them another instrument to duck with, you know what I mean? Now you have everyone asking for OSDT? Hell, even mma is asking for OSDT now (koshchek asking gsp to take OSDT).
Pointblank, I think Floyd beats Manny as is without tests. Enough of the bullsh1t! Then I want Floyd to fight Cotto. That would be sweet to see how Mayweather tries to avoid that vicious left hook to the ribs by Junito.
Oh, don't worry, we already established that Floyd was on PEDs as well, so it evens out.
You can read it here. Lots of telling clues that when added all up, prove he was juicing before his retirement.
Enjoy.

Good thread. But you know the Flomos on hear will still defend their boy KFC with this PED thing. They are so obsessed by it, and they will never let it go. lol.........
Good video of Manny's fight. First time I saw it. Even if it was 15 years ago, did you notice who one of the commentator was? Boxingscene's very own, Ronnie Nathanielsz. No offense to Ronnie, I just noticed it.
contractually they still can pull blood anytime prior to the fight thus scaring any potential cheater straight. just becdause they didnt does NOT mean they cant.
But listen to Trygart, just because they can, more than likely, they won't. To preserve the optimum capacity of the athlete so they perform in peak condition which is of paramount importance, they will not.
LoneBum,
Pacquiao had agreed to the same OSDT bloodtests that Mayweather-Mosley underwent. In addition, he will do 4 days better, up to 14-days prior to the fight, rather than Mosley-Mayweather's 18 days prior to the fight.
Yes, in statement the OSDT says "no cutoff", but in substance and fact, if you listen to Trygart, there exists a cutoff. They just don't want to call it such.
also, how come no boxer has ever complained of manny taking PED's?
take hatton for example. he is with golden boy, he has been embarassed by manny pac. how come he hasn't asked for investigation to the authorities regarding their fight?
i'll tell you why.
this OSDT is bullcrap.
