Does anyone here not realise that MItchell has over 50 pro fights, and he's only had 6 since loosing to KT.
Now everyone's going on about activity and Tszyu being injured - and I'm not saying it will be easy - But Tszyu has already fought Mitchell - He knows what to expect - He knows how hard he hits and has seen enough of him latley to know that
A) Kostya hits a hell of a lot harder and more accurately than Lovemore N'Dou
B) Yes, KT is getting on a bit, but for as much as KT could get old in the ring - Mitchell is NO spring chicken.
C) KY has a huge psycological advantage - Everytime I see Tszyu Vs Mitchell I, I think - Mitchells corner must have used a crow bar to get Sharmba out of his dressing room - He looks like he's about to throw up with fear.
I'm taking Tszyu as I'm a fan and I think he's just plain better than Mitchell -which is no disrespect to Sharmba, he's a top class pro, but Tszyu will win.
I've seen three of the rounds so far - Interesting to see Green being the one doing the pushing around. Green obviously has a good chin and he was getting some nice work down in the three rounds I've seen.
A lot fo people have had trouble when the download window comes up - just add ".mpg" before saving and they work great.

Judges in the Fenech Nelson I fight, Judges in the Hagler Leonard fight, Sugar Ray Leonard, De La Hoya and RUIZ!!!!!!!!!!
Tarver and Johnson needed Jones there to have a marquee name - Tarver and Johnson outside the general boxing community would be lucky to rate a "Huh?" from the general public.
In the end - The Light Heavies needed Roy more than Roy needs the light heavies and I think we'll see a fairly boring division short of Hopkins coming up for a dig at Tarver which will more be a farewell to boxing from Hopkins than a serious dig at the Lght Heavy Title.
All I can say is I bet Jones wished he stayed at heavy now!!!!!!!!!!
Roy's health seems more at issue than Oscars right now.
Oscar has the option to drop some weight and still be successfull - I don't think Roy has that option.
Both should retire anyway...
Your missing the point - This view has surfaced quite a bit since Jones lost to Tarver and the best version of it I read was the article entitled "Libertaion" in the Ring Magazine with Bernard Hopkins on the cover - The issues that covered the Hopkins Allen, DLH Sturm fight.
The Liberation article gave Jones his due for skills - But noted that there are a fair few qualities of Jones that wont be missed - Namely all the tough talking and then taking lame mandatory title challenegers, holding HBO to ransom for crappy matchups and not really fighting in a manner of a warrior, more of the reluctant hero.
As usual at this point in a career - Its easy to come out of the woodwork and hate on the guy - But the bottom line is Jones WAS the best fighter of the 90s - And for all the good and bad experiences he provided us with - He's now not really in a position to fight on.
I hope he takes stock of an awesome career and retires with dignity.
If someone is a b o x i n g t a l k member - There's a member only feature where they got a quote from Roy re: His future - Go check it and tell us what it said!
Jose - Sounds like a case of Phillipino envy there tiger...
Yeah, a 118 pounder that comes up and kicks Barerra's ass and gets ripped off against Marquez - No matter what - Is "chicken gay"...that's one gay chicken with bigger balls than yours!
He's fighting out of his depth and his style is almost as yawn worthy as Ruiz only in a technically proficient way.
Unfortunatley you don't watch the heavies for technical proficiencies, you want a bit of bang and power - He's had some entertaining fights - But the one most people cite is the Ibeabuchi loss, the "win" over Vitali and the younger brother punching him up in the return.
I thought Fres beat him by two rounds, I also thought Golotta beat him by a round.
Having said all that - I'd love to see Toney and Byrd. or Jones and Byrd - At least make a rule that the HW's can only have one former Middle champ in their ranks at a time.
Happiest - Tszyu unifying against Judah
Sadest - Hagler Leonard
Most memorable fight I watched - Michael Carbajal coming off the canvass to stop Humberto Gonzalez in their first fight - That was such a cool come from behind victory.
He's at least SOMETHING to look at in the HW division.
Its so devoid of thrills, skills or anything else "ill" except "Spills" becuase every fight I find myself spilling my beer or bongwater in disgust at the frustrating bollocks that passes for a HW fight these days!
Toney brings spark, some much needed personality - The rest of the division could surely use some of his personality - But in general he at least brings a few questions to the table that are actually COMPELLING in a division that needs some fire breathing to wake it up.
I mean who cares about the possible match ups of Golota Ruiz Klistcko and Brewster? Vitali is the most exciting of those 4, and god damn its a sad day when you measure excitement on a guy who's style was learned from watching Ali do Frankenstein impersonations of George Foreman...
Oscar wanted a commission into the Mosley II decision and you reckon he pulled a work to get out of the fight?
I think all people who question the validity of the KO need a flush Liver shot so they can realise what it feels like...
Its a close fight - Trinidad's layoff and Mayorga' untested power at 160 will make it interesting.
I think I'll go with Tito TKO round 3. It won't be a long fight.
DLH is impressive - He took the UNdisputed middle champ 9 rounds, I thought he'd make it to 11 at leasy - but I'm knid of glad he didn't, he'd start looking like Joppy by then...
Even from my limited boxing experience - De La Hoya was taking a step backward as Hopkins was coming in - That for a start puts DLH at a disadvantage as he's stomach would not be taut as it normally would when defending.
If you geta flush liver shot - Its like someone has stabbed you and your' energy is being sucked out like a balloon flying around the room if you don't tie it off properly, only faster.
Just cause the view of the shot didn't look like Gatti Dorin - It don't mean that it wasn't a good shot - We watched in slow mo a bunch of times on video and I could see the shot landing and whilst Hopkins fist didn't disapear into his rib cage ala a Tyson classic - It sure landed.
Nard had to play chess for a lot of rounds to expose the opening - I thought the whole fight was a subtle yet brutal battle of boxing intelligence that was decided in the end by size AND brains.
Hopkins defence is about a million times' better than Roy Jones' - Jones has never been good at defense - He's been able to rely on his amazing relfexes and athletic abilities and now he's lost a step or two - The Tarvers of this world come along when at the end of his career and expose that he needs to re-asses his defense.
Hopkins from Saturday night would never get caught like Roy did in his fight with Tarver.
Tarver is not exactly granite chinned either, Hopkins has a shot, he's an underdog, but he has a shot.
What exactly did Leonard say?
Basically that he took the Hagler fight cause he saw that Marvin was being outboxed by John Mugabi and he then thought he could do it too.
He said he thought that he was stronger than De La Hoya, and that Hopkins was not as limited as Marvin was. He said Marvin had problems with boxers and that he was able to win their fight by boxing.
I had it for Marvin by a point, but I'm the most biased Hagler fan going...
Awesome.
At least this will finally put Warren and the UK Hatton nuthugging brigade something to talk about.
On Arum's part its an excellent idea - He's got a guy he has complete confidence in and can use the belt as leverage, if Hatton and Warren turn this down - May Hatton serve drinks and beat up on locals in a Manchester pub...
Southpaw - if that happens I will say - "All hyped prospects should be forced to fight one another from now on before making a run at the cream of the division".
Have you ever boxed?
Have you ever been hit in the liver?
If not - You should go open a big cold can of shut the fuck up.
The only thing protecting the liver is a thin layer of skin, DLH was on the back foot going backwards, Hopkins was moving forwards and DLH got caught - End of story.
You want dramatic mouthguard flying from the mouth in slow motion stuff - Watch a Rocky movie.
AS a fight fan - I was MORE than entertained and satisfied with the fight and the outcome. Especially as I won 100 bucks for betting Hopkins would stop DLH.
