Who wins, Dariusz Michalczewski v. Roy Jones Jr.? In his past three fights RJJ has shown us all that he handles pressure horribly, and DM is a pure pressure style fighter. Yes RJJ is not in his prime, but for a once great to lose in such a fashion raises serious questions about said fighters greatness. I think we all know that DM became the linear champ by beating Virgil Hill. That he was stripped of the WBA belt immediatlely after the fight for having the WBO belt at the same time. And that William Guthrie sued him and won by having the IBF order DM to give him a title shot within 30 days after he won the IBF belt from Hill. So the guy becomes linear champ and leaves with the same belt he entered the fight with, the WBO belt. Talk about getting screwed. We all know about the attempts to make a fight between RJJ and DM happen. Too bad Roy outbid himself once again from a fight by demanding $10 million. I wonder why he did that? The fight can never happen now because both fighters are well past their primes and they should probably both retire. The RJJ fans say that DM lost in a SD to Julio Cesar Gonzalez, and that RJJ beat Gonzalez. If you are going to point to fighters losses that happen after they are past their prime then you have to also allow for RJJ's two humiliating losses to Johnson and Tarver. Gonzalez was also one of the many fighters to have beaten Johnson. DM and RJJ have had quite a few common opponents and DM seems to have a slite edge in this one.
RJJ: Gonzalez UD 12; Harmon TKO 10; Hall TKO 11; Griffin (L)DQ 9, KO 1; Hill KO 4
DM: Gonzalez (L)SD 12; Harmon KO 9; Hall TKO 10, 11; Griffin TKO 4; Hill UD 12
Darius received back to back beatings from Richard Hall, where he was saved by the referee.
Darius wouldn't have stood a chance agaisnt 1997-2003 Roy Jones, and he knew that.
The only time I know of that he came to the US was to sit ringside at Jones vs Hill.
After that he never came back.
Go figure.
That he was a DM leftover. DM finished off Hall, Harmon, and Griffin (not counting RJJ second try) faster than RJJ could.
Hill went on to win a title at cruiser weight after jones defeated him. In their primes, jones would have destroyed dariusz, who is MUCH slower than jones. See jones vs. sosa, bryant, paz, etc. and you'll understand that swarming a prime jones is suicide. If you compare their careers, jones' accomplishments are far ahead of dariusz's's's's. Dariusz was not a true world champion. To be a true world champion, you have to fight in the united states (where virtually all of the top fighters fight)
Tiger Dariusz Michalczewski :boxing: Roy Jones Jr
- didnt fight since 1997-2005 why ?? Jones - scary Tiger !!
Tiger KO Jones - Hamburg or USA doesnt matter where - the ring is the same :boxing:
rjj kayoed hill in the fourth with a body shot, so what does that tell you?

linear champ, what planet are you from? rjj was the light heavy king dude, seriously, he would have beat the shit out of dm, all the euro fighters fight bums in their home towns, they all do that, Calzaghe is fucking trash so is hatton and dm and the rest of them who rack up 35-0 records against bums, lets see them do that in the states
Calzaghe may be trash, but Hatton and DM clearly are not. The fact that DM was the linear champ is not debateable. Virgil Hill was the linear champ. DM beat him and won the WBA and IBF belts as well as the linear champ status.
Lol...did you see his fight with Clinton Woods? That's an example of why you couldn't swarm a prime Jones.
Now we are comparing the linear champ to trash like Clinton Woods.
Tarver would have kayoed DM
Tarver is overrated. You people say so every day. Had RJJ not been shot, he would have walked through Tarver, or is this all a lie.
DM is pure pressure like you said, but in their primes, i think RJJ would outbox and stay out of harms way, while DM pressures him self into exhaustion, im not an RJJ nuthugger, but I dont deny the man's brilliance, it is a sad ending for him.
There's a possibility of that happening, but the people who say that RJJ would have KO'd DM obviously know nothing about boxing.
Right this is prime for prime. I don't think that anyone would think that Jones could win now.
