im so fuckin mad right now, i was usualy right about dlh he ran and "patty punch" hopkins in the beginin of the fight. this guy is the biggest pussy in boxing history. then he goes down like a sorry ass bitch. "THAT FUCKIN PUNCH WASNT EVEN A CLEAN SHOT" im really dissapointed in in this fight there was "no excitement" just a boring long fight. i was expecting a brawl or a slugfest or even a fight of the year but damn this fight sucked so much. the reason i say it was fixed was because ppv and las vegas casinos made "MILLIONS" of this fight there was absolutely no way for oscar to win. they paid dlh a great amount of money and he just gave up. plus howcome there was a 10-1 fav for hopkins and nobody for dlh. wasnt dlh a good oppnent for bernard? people need to wake up and start seein the shit clear. anyways i won 300$$ whooohoo.
understandable
but i wanna hear the explanation abot how casinos made money off of DLH the underdog losing
i understand that it oscar made money and so did hopkins
i wanna hear the people that said that the it was fixed becuz of how much money the casinos made from oscar losing
I agree with you, if someone was supposed to take a dive it was supposed to be Bernard Hopkins, I'm sure Hopkins would KO DLH anytime they fight...
The fight was a fuckin fix man... it's easy to see that. DLH wanted Hopkins as his partner to bring in african american fighters so Golden Boy Promotions could have best of both worlds. In return Hopkins made DLH a deal that if he was to fight a mega fight with Hopkins to bring Bernard much needed revenue he would go ahead and join up. Easy as that!!!

Oh shit! I just woke the fuck up. For some reason I thought it was about Sturm. Just ignore my previous post.
As far as DLH-Hopkins... It's possible that it was fixed for all the right reasons. It would build up Hopkins career, giving DLH a very good reason to go back to a lower weight class or possibly retire and be more of a buisness man.
Both now have a promising partnership and each made an assload of money that night.
The tagline for the night of DLH/B-Hop should have been...
"Whoever Wins, We Lose"
yes that makes sense
but i wanna hear from the people that think the casinos fixed it
and that somehow they made alot of money off oscar losing
ok
so tha explains the DLH-Sturm fight being fixed
we're talkin about Hopkins-DLH being fixed
or rather
osacr taken a dive
in order to make casinos money

Very simple guys...
You all forgot about the marketing side of things. Everything revolves around money.
There simply wasn't any money in Sturm vs. Hopkins.
And they sure proved it... It was one of the highest grossing PPV's of all time... No doubt about it... pretty sad actually.
What if they gave Sturm an offer to go down, or pretend as if DLH is punishing him, then he agreed, but ignored it later.

old ass thread
but still kracks me up
all i have to say is
why would u fix a fight and make the underdog lose
ur suppose to have the underdog win when ya fix a fight
I am the greatest
You are the smartest...

hopkins punch WAS NOT a liver punch. it was on the back/right side of his ribcage, if anything it was a kidney punch. but on his way down, ODLH got nailed by another left hook by hopkins. the body punch probly stole his wind, but the last punch probly took whatever energy oscar had left. i also think that he was overreacting while on the ground. ive seen fighters in pain but ive never seen anyone grimace like oscar did. oscar probly got legitimately knocked down, but while he was down he thought "im getting $30+ million for this fight. i dont care if i win. i just want the money."
The people who are still questioning the punch really need to go look at the fight again. The slow motion replays don't really do the punch justice. In real time you can see Bernard throw the punch with force and he knew it landed good. He even said he heard Oscar gasp when it landed.
you truely have no clue and no argument....the stuff you've been saying on the post doesn't hold up, you can't even articulate your self without cussing..nuthugger, billtbob, face it you aint got shit!!!obviously you didn't take my advise and get some common sense with your 300 bucks....your so stupid i'm surprised you made it this far in life!!
wow, the first time ive seen a dog talk! WHY should i take advice from a WASTE OF SPACE like you. I put on my bets and i won, while you just open ur mouth and let the shit go free. its people like you that are just born to be shit. dont get mad its the truth...........remember that nuthugger.
am not saying that it was fixed. but knowing the trend in boxing, we should all understand that it is not impossible to have that fight fixed.
many fighters had been hit to the body many times but does not easily KO'd. its usually more of a lucky punch.
nothing is impossible to boxing nowadays. that's why to bigsmooth,if you realy know the boxing credibility, you would say its not a good idea to bet your money.
It may have been fixed. Oscar De La Hoya letting Hopkins knock him out gives Hopkins chances now to fight Jones and Tarver. Knocking out De La Hoya has made Hopkins greater. Anything other than knockout would have hurt Hopkins' chances of fighting Jones or Tarver. Oscar De La Hoya still has great fights in his future still despite losing. But, if Hopkins had lost, his career would have been over. It may have been fixed. I think Oscar De La Hoya getting knocked out by being hit in his body was strange.
Everything you just said is not true. First Oscar losing by knockout doesn't help Hopkins chances for a fight with either Jones or Tarver those fights were on the table before the fight even happened. If anything it only helped him secure more money for either fight. Hopkins legacy would of been enhanced even if he didn't knock Delahoya out. Oscar will always have fights because he is still the money man in the business. If Hopkins lost he would of been set back but he still would be considered a great middleweight. Anybody can be knocked out by a good bodyshot especially one that is in the right place. It doesn't matter if it's Delahoya, Hopkins, Jones or Tarver anyone can be stopped with a good bodyshot.
