Shit that avatar of Floyd snr in is fuckin freaky!
Looking like a ghetto Urban legend
Hahaha.... Yeah dude is scary looking, but one of the best trainers in the business.
I think this fight might be to close to call. I give Cotto a slight edge because he is an all around good boxer puncher. I think his body attack would be a key factor in a fight against a guy the size of Williams.
Rocky Marciano... I think he was so successful because of the great punch he could take. Many of his victories came due to ability to take his opponents best shots until he was able to land his big right hand. Same case could be made about Jake Lamotta and even JCC who took a lot of punishment but because their chin held up they were able to come on as the fight progressed.
Mayweather would never stand in front of Margarito long enough to let him unload. Mayweather would box and counter punch Margarito to a comfortable and clear UD.
Hopkins vs. Ray Robinson... I always felt Hopkins would hold his own against someone like Robinson. Hopkins is a tough and rugged fighter and would've been great in any era. I could see a hard fought and rugged decision win for Hopkins.
Arum doesn't deserve anything. He is a sneaky businessman who uses his fighters as sacrifical lambs to build his investments in other more popular fighters. The most recent example is David Diaz and Antonio Margarito, everyone knew when the Diaz-Pacquiao fight was made that it was just an excuse for Pacquiao to win a belt at lightweight. There was better fights that could've been made but Arum chose to throw Diaz in with Pacquiao. Arum threw Margarito in with Cotto thinking that Cotto would walk all over Margarito. Why was Arum already planning Cotto's next fight and didn't have anything to say about Margarito? But that's the business side of boxing I guess!
Pacquiao has the best straight left in the business. Darchinyan is wild with his punches, which makes most of his punches including his left hand telegraphed and looping. Pacquiao's left hand is straight down the pipe.
Mike Tyson all day. He is a student of the game, and is full of so much knowledge due to being trained by the great Cus D'amato. Everytime i hear Tyson talk boxing, You can just tell he knows what he's talking about.
Trinidad-Margarito would've been a hell of a fight. I would have to give it to Tony though. Trinidad never had the best of chins and he had the tendency to get discouraged and frustrated. ex: (De la hoya, Hopkins and Wright.) I think Margarito would've stopped Trinidad earlier then he did Cotto. Cotto is a very well rounded boxer with good head and foot movedment. Trinidad was more one dimensional, and relied more on one punch. I think it would be a hell of a war while it would last, Margarito would be to much for Tito with his workrate and body punching. Margarito by TKO in 9
tito's chin was great.
don't talk if you don't know.
Trinidad had is ass on the ground to much for you to say he had a great chin. You can say he was off balance, which a lot of the time he was. But Vargas Clearly dropped his ass and hurt him and so did hopkins. I personally don't think Margarito would've ko'd him with a head shot. He would've beaten the fight out of him much like he did Cotto.
Floyd Sr. Hands down. Floyd Sr. is a defensive genius, and i think that's what gives him the edge over the rest of the trainers in the business. Freddie Roach is a very overrated trainer who implements one strategy, come straight forward and overwhelm your opponents. Most of Buddy's fighters have been getting owned, that should speak for itself. Emanuel Stewart is legend, i can't hate on him.
Judah would ko hatton early. Hatton would not be able to stand up to Judah's big shots like these WW have been. In my opinion Judah would be a beast if he goes back down to JWW. I don't think Hatton has the power like these big strong WW's to wear Zab down and discourage him.
the commentators sitting right there said he was hurt and the ref was giving him a break..
Not saying thats why IM saying it.. I saw it , like they did...
You aint insulting anyone, your opionion is your opinion mang'

I don't really see any of the active professional fighters right now being able to fill DLH shoes as far as a huge draw and money maker. The key factor to making a fighter popular to the mainstream public is to market that fighter early on. Therefore in America we really need a better amature program, and Olympic program. Many of the big household names, began to receive attention through the olympics. Ex.Dlh, Leonard, Holyfield, Whitaker, RJJ, Ali and many others. Until our amature/olympic program is improved i don't see any american that can fill the void left by DLH.
He shoud be fighting at 140
I agree with you 100%, the WW's are just to big for Zab. I know he wouldn't have trouble making 140lbs. In his fight with Clottey didn't he come in at like 143lbs or so?
If he can make some noise in the Heavyweight division, i think Chris Arreola has a bright future ahead of him. As far as the lower wait classes we're just going to have to wait and see. There are good prospects such as Linares, Mares, and Gamboa who also have a bright future. However, i don't think they possess that superstar quality. If Andre Berto can stay undefeated and not jump in to quick with these top WW's he might be able to draw a lot of attention, same case can be made about Amir Kahn at lightweight.
margarito is so painfully underrated on these boards its sickening. people doubted him against cotto and he proved you all wrong, he would do the same to mayweather. margarito has a good defense (underrated) decent speed (not slow like made out) and great footwork to close down the gap between him and his opponent. cotto is a lot bigger than mayweather therefore he should be able to hold him off better, i dont see mayweather surviving the full 12 and especially dont see him winning with his poor punch out put.
Floyd Mayweather is in a whole different class than Margarito. Margarito is a very good fighter who puts a lot of pressure on his opponents, his defense is underrated but he is entirely to slow to catch Mayweather. Mayweather would roll many of Margarito's punches and counter him all night. Watch the first half of the Cotto-Margarito fight, floyd would do that for 12 rounds and box his way to a comfortable decision.
At 140 Judah is a beast. IMO there isn't anyone at that weight that could handle his speed and power. Zab is a very explosive fighter with ko power in both hands, he's just been in a division where the men are just to big for him. If he goes back down to 140 i can see him getting a few belts and getting some big money fights.
hatton would give him a good scrap at 140
I agree, A Hatton-Judah fight would be a very entertaining fight. My only concern is with Hatton's chin. He has never been in the ring with a fighter as explosive as Judah, whereas Zab was able to weather the aggresion by a bigger and stronger fighter in Clottey and did give a valiant effort in that fight. If Floyd Sr. is able to tighten up Hatton's defense, it could be one for the ages.
I think he'll be reduced to beating people up on youtube soon
I think if he goes down to 140 and has a poor showing, it would be it for his career. It's just hard for me to count a fighter out who has been fighting in a higher weight class and has held his own against bigger fighters until the later rounds. If he loses to someone like Malignaggi or Witter, i'll agree with you at that point.
The Rocky that fought Barrios would be beaten by UD in a rematch with Soto. If Rocky were to start letting his hands go, I would give him a great chance to beat Soto. The outcome of the fight would depend on which Rocky shows up that night.
