way too big, too much stamina, amazing chin.
mayweather would get fucked up badly.
I really doubt that. Floyd's way too skilled, smart and fast, and he's a conditioning freak as well. He's just too slick for a plodder, albeit a strong and large one, like Margarito.
Floyd by UD.
A fight with Marg would hardly be the first time Mayweather has fought a bigger, stronger opponent with the supposed ability to beat him up, a number of opponents have had these attributes, notably Corrales and Castillo. My view is that Marg reprsents an even greater threat than these because of his ability to simply walk through punches, which appears formidable and the fact he's a big welter whereas those guys were down at 135. He has the potential to hurt Mayweather, undoubtedly, and its doubtful Mayweather can hurt him.
This doesn't mean Mayweather loses though. Marg is very slow and is very easy to hit. Against Floyd he would take a lot of punishment, not enough to stop him or perhaps not even hurt him, but undoubtedly enough to give Mayweather his usual cleaner harder shots advantage. The question then is whether or not Marg could catch up to Floyd enough to do damage. I don't think he could. Floyd in full defensive mode is tremendously elusive, as numerous boxers have found out. He should be able to outmanouvre someone like Marg and I think we'd see Floyd sliding from side of ring to side of ring, always a step ahead. Note though, I do think Floyd would have to do this. He has been able to stand toe to toe with more of his opponents than his critics care to admit, but I don't think he could against Marg. I also don't think it would be at all wise for Floyd to even consider sitting on the ropes, shoulder roll or not, I think Margs punches would break him down in this scenario, so Floyd would have to be on his bike constantly.
If they fought, I don't think Marg would 'brutally fuck Floyd up', I think he'd lose a decision, but the threadstarter is right that Marg certainly has the attributes to make brutality possible. I think Floyd would know this too and this fight would simply end up being more ammunition for those who call Floyd a 'runner' etc etc, because to be sure of victory, that is what he would have to do.
wow abadger.....not bad at all......your pretty knowledgeable as long as we're not talkin about Joe :lol1: j/k
but i agree tho......plus Floyds an extremely smart fighter, he's gonna focus on gettin the W before anything so like abadger said....Floyd doesnt have to box all night to take this fight but to be on the safe side that would be his best bet.
He could stay in the pocket like he did in the Ndou fight and shoulder roll, deflecting shots and countering which would make for a very exciting fight......but with Margs seemingly granite chin and the volume of punches it might be a bit tougher than Ndou made it.........but like I said that would be exciting to see.
floyd is TOO SMALL. he has not beaten a prime natural welter, oscar's style is to box and use his jab, not pressure and he only lost a SD to floyd! Marg is bigger, stronger fitter and he is a pressure fighter!
floyd will be stopped for the first time if he fights marg
dont compare marg to tata, he is faster, stronger, more stamina, power, better combinations, defence, footwork etc.
NOTHING LIKE TATA. Marg would crush mayweather in a similar way he beat cotto.

the words floyd and brutally only go together if floyd fights toni ,Cotto, Cintron, Mosley, forrest, clottey , quartey and floyd fighting any of these guys would be a floyd loss.....brutally
lol......im not even gonna begin to counter back with an argument cuz your sig shows me your boxing logic............biased as hell regardless of facts
totally agree with both posts.........at least Cotto has some type of boxing skills that might be able to give Floyd some trouble........Margarito doesnt and is slow as hell and easy to hit, Floyd would pick him apart......brutally

Floyd would make him look painfully slow. You cannot hurt what you cannot hit.
Co-sign. I think Margarito be potshotted all night. I think Cotto proberbly has a better chance against Floyd than Margarito.

And if Floyd had more power, or was able to carry his power up to WW, he'd brutally ko Margs. If, if...if...
no one would brutally KO margs, period... not unless ur a prime Tito
Margarito would give Floyd a tough fight no doubt but he is not quick enough with hand or feet to catch him. Also Floyd has better stamina then Cotto and will not run out of gas. Floyd wins by ud Peace
way too big, too much stamina, amazing chin.
mayweather would get fucked up badly.
Mayweather is way too fast, way too smart, way too slick. Plus he has amazing stamina and a great chin.
Tony would get embarassed pretty badly
margarito is so painfully underrated on these boards its sickening. people doubted him against cotto and he proved you all wrong, he would do the same to mayweather. margarito has a good defense (underrated) decent speed (not slow like made out) and great footwork to close down the gap between him and his opponent. cotto is a lot bigger than mayweather therefore he should be able to hold him off better, i dont see mayweather surviving the full 12 and especially dont see him winning with his poor punch out put.
Mayweather will make Tony look like TaTa all night long. Do you not realize styles make fights. Cotto would have a better chance against PBF than Tony. Cotto has just enough speed to keep up with PBF but not enough to keep away from Tony. Tony is just big and strong enough to walk through punches. If it wasn't for his great chin Cotto would had knock him out by the 4 or 5 round. And I really like all 3 fighters (one no more than the other).
