i dont know if this threads been made yet....havent been on in a couple days but who takes this matchup??
theres been some talk that Cotto is no Tito which I dont think is a fair evaluation seeing as Titos never been in a fight like THAT to my knowledge.....plus Cottos still growing as a fighter and took on a HELLUVA challenge in Marg
But who takes this and how do they win?
Ive said it before and I'll say it again. After a fight with Tito Margarito's career would be over. Another one of fighters whos career was ruined by Tito. Vargas, David Reid, and Margarito would be telling young fighters about staying away from Tito like he was heroin.
Now that I think about it......at 140lbs Hatton would've UD'd them both with his workrate, superior footwork and infighting.

nice
i understand. sometimes when you have 3-4 guys each arguing on opposing sides it gets a bit confusing.
i'd say pretty close.
frazier had a very good chin.
but hard to tell......tito never got hit by foreman.
I mentioned Frazier because he always gets up (minus vs foreman...) He gets hurt btu comes back. I would say pretty close too, but I dont consider Frazier having a "great" chin, hence neither Tito.
Great chin to me is the type of chin which carries your career at some point and it is a career at a high level (Tua, Chuvalo, late Ali...)
ok that's what I was gathering from the previous post.
I still think it is not a great chin, I dont want to be mistaken for those who imagine him cracking soon (i am reading this a bit too much on this thread).
Would you rate him above or below Frazier's chin? do you consider Frazier's chin great or excellent?

i didn't say tito's chin is like ali's or tua's.
i'm just pointing out that tua has been hurt and knocked out before.
i'm just pointing out that ali has been buckled and knocked down before.
tito's chin is great. he's been hurt but not seriously. he's been knocked down but not seriously hurt.
even his one ko loss was of the foreman i'm exhausted , i don't have anything left type.

Bored of this thread... It now boils down to what happens early on Tony's chin vs Tito's power. People are never going to agree on this one.
By the way, add Sam Langford and Ray Robinson to the top of the 147 powerpunchers list.
Tito's chin is not like Tua's or even Ali's. I don't know why you think it is. I have seen his knees buckled by Oscar's not loading his shots, nowhere close to trouble. Great chin is different. Not weak like I read on some post here, but not great enough to be sure that it is going to deal well with whatever fraction will land of those 1000 haymakers Marg would throw. 1000 is a lot of punches, I just wrote it in another post. dealing with 500 punches in a fight is one thing, dealing with 1000 is different.
I keep bringing up Tito's skills, because someone mentioned them, and that would be plan B

Well anyone who would think that beating Golden Johnsons means anything should be labeled retarded. Oh wait- I think I've read a bunch of Margie fans propping that win up, even now!
I figured it would be obvious, especially since i put a sarcasm picture right after and been saying that Tito probably decapitates Marg in this fight the whole time.
:lol1: i was searching back through the thread to find where u switched to the dark side on me.
even tua's knees have buckled. even tua has been koed. ali also buckled a few times and been knocked down. you're telling me they didn't have great chins?
the guy had 45 fights and 9 above welterweight. even his one ko loss wasn't a real ko but the exhaustion , i got nothing left type.
why do you keep bringing up tito's boxing skills? tito's not gonna box marg (plus his boxing skills are underrated imo).

Just listen to the video I posted. Tito DID hit like a mack truck. Even George Foreman went "ooooh" at some of the punches because they sounded so damn loud.
20 seconds in. Watch it. Turn the sound up.
but seriously tho......look at vid.
and Vargas was a proven warrior with a great chin. Tito sent his ass to queer street
Trinidad knocked out middlweights that had good chins and better defense than Margarito, he would be too much. It would be a great fight, but you have to out box Trinidad and give him lateral movement. You would be asking for trouble if you just came at him like that, especially the young Tito that fought Marice Blocker and Whitaker. He punches harder than Cotto does and would be the one moving foward. Trinidad is also one of the best finishers of the past era. He would have to get off the canvas to do it, but i see him systematically breaking Margarito down and winning by unanimous decision or late stoppage. He was unbeaten at welterweight.
