With wins over Corrie Sanders, Danny Williams, Herbie Hide, Larry Donald and Kirk Johnson?
Why not put Ibeabuchi and Riddick Bowe in there too:
1. Ike Ibeabuchi
2. Riddick Bowe
3. Vitali Klitschko
4. Muhammad Ali
5. Mike Tyson
I think Ibeabuchi would have been huge had he not gone crazy, that guy was a beast.
After the success of the Jones/Trinidad fight, Jones proved he is still a PPV draw and Calzage/Jones would be bigger than a Calzage/Pavlik fight in terms of numbers. No one thought the Hopkins fight would happen either, have patience.
does speed equal power considering that tyson was so much quicker than foreman and shavers. Does that translate to being more powerful?.
Malignaggi is a lot quicker than Margarito, but I think we can agree that Tony hits harder.
Pretty sure Bernard will make a career payday for what just might be his last fight, probably the easiest of all the big money fights he could make. So no.
Super welter? Abraham has weighed in at 170lbs for a fight earlier in his career and he fought Miranda the second time at just under the super middleweight limit. I don't think size is a factor in whoever wins this fight.
I think the TS is placing too much emphasis on height and reach.
It looked to me like the cut from the headbutt early in the fight hindered him for the rest of it. But I'm glad to see that he'll learn from the mistakes that he did make.
I'm not really sure that there's anyone south of 160 that is capable of stopping Floyd. He almost never gets hit cleanly, his counters keep you from throwing non stop, and in the rare instances that he does get hit, he has shown a very good chin, and has recovered instantly.
It seems like every Cotto and Margarito fan I come across on here is picking Pavlik to beat Williams like Rojelio, HTown Texan, and Chicano 79 as the Margo fans, and Ch&mpbox and a few other Cotto fans. My question is, who are you rooting for? It seems like you want this guy to fall and you are preying for it. Probably because he was just better than Margo and Cotto. I know that Margarito fans got flamed hard and the Williams-Margarito rematch topic would generate like 15 to 20 pages in a thread in some cases with Margarito fans trying to defend him when it was Paul Williams who offered the rematch to Margarito when Cintron pulled out with that injury and Margo said no. And then we can't forget about the 4 million dollar offer to Margo. The only thing that Margarito did was petition to become #1 in the WBO. He never asked for a rematch. And regarding Cotto: Well, we know the situation there.
With all that said, are you Cotto and Margarito fans rooting for Paul Williams to lose to Pavlik now, or are you just picking him to lose?
Not sure how Williams proved he was better than Cotto. Not sure you can lump Cotto and Margarito fans together. If someone is scared of their fighter getting in the ring with Williams, wouldn't they root for Williams? After all, what are his chances of coming back to WW if he wins Pavlik's MW belts?
Clottey is a tough fight for anybody at WW. Considering he'll outweigh Pac by at least 10 pounds in the ring and Josh has shown to posses a very good chin and defense, should be an interesting matchup, certainly better than the Foreman and Malignaggi ones previously discussed.
or did jermain taylor expose him to be an average joe and it wont affect his legacy
I must be tired. For a second there I thought you were implying that Taylor exposed Hopkins as an average Joe.
Well since Pac has all of two fights above 130, neither of them against a top 3 fighter in their division, I'd say Hatton shouldn't be that much of a dog. People take this whole p4p thing a bit too literally.
:boxing: I always like to remind the critics of who they were rooting for and how they change their story year after year..
How many fights has Floyd not been the favorite in, in his career?
I think he is trying to get the big names by going to this weight, Manny, Floyd...
I'd be interested in seeing him fight those two, I just think he has some unfinished business at 140.
No way Pac beats Floyd by anything but knockout. Floyd can adjust better then anyone in boxing. Pac has one gear.
What if you have the same judges Alexander had the other night?
