I just rewatched the Cotto vs Foreman (wasn't paying attention last time since I had visitors) and my hats off to Yuri for taking it like a man.
Once he lost his ability to move, it's a lose-lose situation since he is not a puncher and would not be able to KO Cotto at that point. He continued and took a few more beating and in the process, made a fan out of me. I can't say the same about recent controversial outcomes (i.e. Abraham vs Dirrell, Williams vs Cintron).
BTW, I wish there were more fights in NY, Yankee stadium in particular... That referee was very good and very fair, made the fight that much more exciting.
Before the fight I had respect for Yuri's footwork and evasiveness, now I have respect for his heart and courage.
Before the fight, I'm not particularly impressed with "slicked" boxers... One of the many reasons why I'm not a Floyd Mayweather fan. I wanted Cotto to beat Yuri to a pulp, but after this performance, I give him props and will continue to support his fights.
This guy is still young and have a great future ahead of him. He could've quit 3x, 2 slips and 1 towel thrown, but he decided to continue and took a vicious liver punch for his troubles and finally was dropped legitimately for a TKO.
Excellent fight, will watch again!

Good post. I agree, I gained a lot of respect for Yuri saturday night. Dude has some cojones that's for sure.
