Its not one win, its 44:0 at his record and fighting best boxers around.
You right the Floyd - Hatton will be for #1 but untill that Joes deserve to be No1.
1. Joe Calzaghe
2. Manny Pacquiao
3. Floyd Mayweather
4. Bernard Hopkins
5. Juan Manuel Marquez
6. Ricky Hatton
7. Kelly Pavlik
5. Israel Vazquez
9. Wladimir Klitschko
10. Ivan Calderon
Cant be undisputed unless they are fighting for all 3 belts.
IBF, WBC, WBA. And are usually recognized by the people as the Undisputed Champion.
Those are people who still don't recognize WBO as a legitimate belt. Time is moving and they need adapt.
You cannot be "undisputed" if you don't beat Brewster, Calzaghe, Margarito or Cotto. The Judah fight is an example of an "undisputed champion" who wasn't really undisputed.
So only unifying 4 belts give you a true right to be called undisputed. You can be also undisputed if you unify even 2 belts but there is no real contender for you. So if Calzaghe unify with Lazy then they still have Kessler to beat to be called undisputed and no matter what belts they really cary.
Tarver? You gotta be fuckin' kidding. Maussa is much better than Baldomir, too. Gatti's not the best, but he still deserves some respect.
Tarver is bad because he is not interested in LHW division anymore. He is looking for money fights only so his "title" is just a wasting of time - not prove anything beside he was better than "retired" Jones and as good as some other journeyman.
If you forget Baldomir's few first fights his record is pretty good, he beat a few decent contenders and a man who was considered the one who can beat Mayweather.
You cannot judge Baldomir as a champion from just one championship fight (which he bdw won). Lets wait with those definitive statements a little more until Baldomir will be a true history.
Even a 70 - 75% Roy can beat Calzaghe.
Lacy would crush RJJ in the first 5 rounds if they fought.
Unfortunately for Jones, he isn't more than 50% of his best.
I've been trying all week to think of a champion in any division that held ANY belt that is worse than Baldomir, and so far, I've got nothing. Anybody know ONE champ worse than Baldomir?
Ruiz, Tarver, and for sure Judah :D
> I wanna see her knock out John Ruiz.
Ruiz would hugg her whole night (he is too heavy for her), I think she have a better chances with Wlad Klitchko, after hugging her for 5 rounds Wlad would spent all stamina and get KO'ed.
> I on the other hand, think that Rahman is going to shock the boxing world once again. Lennox Lewis, as well as a host of boxing critics and journalists seem to think so as well.
This brings to nowhere, Rhaman win over Lennox was the biggest in his life and purely accidential which was proven in the remach. Win over Vitali bring the total dark era to HW division.
He was good against Williams until he suffer knee twisting. So I think he will have a good chance to redeem himself in a short time. It would be huge if Tyson, Bowie, Golota win the titles and do unification (Holyfield not included this time).
"Floyd Mayweather Jr.: Could He Be The Greatest Ever? ...
He just might become the best ever."
Eeryone with unbeaten record and good resume may be the greatest. The only prove is to stop talking and keep fighting - not the most convenient but the most challenging.
when floyd was at 130! I heard him saying that after he demolished augie sanchez! but he said he would not go up to 130 to fight prettyboy that floyd would have to meet him at 126 or a catch weight. That would have been a hell of a fight! who would have won that?
Hammed is making comeback, basing on his recent weight they can still fight somewhere near 140 or 147lb.
He deserve title based on his whole-life resume, also he is highest available in the current IBF ranking so he is simple mandatory to Byrd.
Beside this he is considered as a much bigger threat to Byrd's belt than Barrett - even Byrd realize that Barrett will be much weaker oponent. If someone would have a shot before Wlat this would be Golota (in remach) or Sanders (recently KO Wlad).
RJJ didn't need a good chin because he was too fast to be catched with a strong clean shot. In last fights he try to mimic Ali's rope-a-dope but Ali had a great chin for this. If Pascal will have some more than RJJ (like a good jab for example) he can be a champion.
World Ranking 229, he has a lot of work to do. I guess that any boxer who is in first #20 right now was running as fast as RJJ in his first 3 fights.
> Moves like RJJ, fast like RJJ, leads with a left hook like RJJ, he's prrooooo.
Hope he don't finish soon like RJJ in hist last 2 fights :spankme: .
If Golota brings back his jab then he has a big chance to win. It seems that Peter has KO power mainly with a wild hooks, he misses a lot of his shots and his head is very exposed. Golota should stay away in a proper range then solid combination should stop Peter. The unsolved questions are: how good is Peter's chin and is he able to fight in a late rounds as effectively as on the beggining. Golota show he can keep a good performance for whole 12 rounds.
Rahman
Klitschko -> Vitali TKO
Ruiz
Toney -> Toney UD
Byrd
Barrett -> Byrd UD
Golota
Brewster -> Golota KO
Wlad
Castillo -> Wlad TKO
Peter
Moorer -> Peter KO
-----------------------------------------
Vitali
Toney -> Vitali UD
Byrd
Golota -> Golota UD
Wlad
Peter -> Wlad KO
----------------------------------------
Vitali
Golota -> Golota UD :crazy:
----------------------------------------
Golota
Wlad :thinking:
He was the champ (for a while) so there is no big motivation for him as for those who never been (I gues Golota would dye to take this oportunity for anything over 500 K$).
> He Was born in Russia
That could be wrong, he was definitely born in former Soviet Union but his name don't look as a typical Russian name. He could be from some Caucasian or Baltic republic which is not Russia.
> All of that muscle mass, is a waste of space on his body.
What he has right now is not a muscle mass, you are not geting it from fish and chips kind of training.
