Roy Jones versus winner of Lacy/Calzaghe?

I think Roy should just stayed as a commentator after his loss to G. Johnson.

Lacy seems to be a younger stronger Glencoffe Johnson, it's suicide for Roy to even speak his name. He should apologize to Lacy.

Even a 70 - 75% Roy can beat Calzaghe. Lacy would crush RJJ in the first 5 rounds if they fought. Unfortunately for Jones, he isn't more than 50% of his best.

Roy is interested in fighting the winner of Lacy/Calzaghe... I don't really want to see it as I don't think Roy could beat Lacy or Calzaghe. Everyone knows to go for Jones' chin. If Roy is serious about fighting, yes, I'd love to see this potential match up. But if he's going to do what he did against Tarver in the 3rd fight, he should hang it up. I agree with you, if Roy actually wants to trade punches and fight then he should. But if he is simply going to run from a KO, then maybe Roy should hang up the gloves and enjoy his life.

I'd like to see him hang them up but i have to admit i would get a certain guilty pleasure out of seeing either of those fight.

despite what people say, and i love lacy, he will have a prob with tarver if they fight. i would like to see rjj vs joe c tho. i would love to see Lacy-Tarver. I think "Left Hook" could pull it off, but it would be difficult. Roy needs to stick to being a commentator, and hang up the gloves.

roy needs to retire, he would get KO'd by both, seriously. they are far more active fighters, both would pressure the shit out of roy. roy doesn't have the same defense as he used too, and they're both more hungrier than roy. if lacy or calzage were to fight roy and didn't KO him, they would beat him up for 12rds, easy. old roy is a different story, but we're talking about the current roy........ i love it ...lacy i'm 50 /50 on, Jones can play keep away and win but if Lacy can get to him he can hurt Roy bad ...Roy has 1 more in him i think he could win this fight

if he wants to win.. he has to work on his defense.. i think roy would be aggresive fighting joe... if he fought lacy he would be afraid to get hit.. basically a replay of the 3rd fight with tarver I agree. If RJJ could shake his fear of getting hit he'd have a fighting chance against both these guys. True, his reflexes have slowed some. But he still has the skill to give Lacy or Joe or anybody else trouble. If he could just shake the fear.

Roy of even 3 years ago would beat Lacy and Calzaghe by UD or late KO. However, at this point of Roy's career, fighting Jeff Lacy would be suicide. I still think he might still have a shot of beating Calzaghe, but I would favor Calzaghe at this point of Roy's career.

Jones like many others should just move on with life.

Both are too much for Roy at this stage of his career, I think. Lacy has too much power, crisp power shots and upper cuts, good stamina- he'd eventually catch Roy and probably stop him. Calzaghe throws too many punches. He'd also eventually catch Roy in an exchange, probably even early. Then Roy would go into a shell and not throw punches for the rest of the fight and lose UD by just getting outworked. Roy seems to have lost his edge of the crisp counter punch and does not like to throw unless his opponent is covering up/moving backwards/against the ropes. He'd have trouble with either of these guys. Bad matchup for him, IMHO.
