Beterbiev watching in the crowd is atleast 2 levels higher than both of these fighters, he knows how to close that distance between ortho and southpaw like butter, these fighters are not able to even conceive of it.
While sitting next to Eubank too
Arturo Gatti vs Joey Gamache.
Weight bullying at its finest, that was almost an attempted murder of poor Gamache (who, in fact, got damaged and took legal action afterwards).
Came here to say this. That knockout immediately popped in my mind.
Bud could fight either Vergil Ortiz or Jaron Ennis if the money is good enough. However, I just cannot see him moving back down in weight at 38. It would be very difficult.
Why would he do that? Both fighters are nowhere near accomplished enough to get in the ring with him. Now the only fights for him outside of a Canelo rematch are the light heavies.
Bud shocked me when he completely dominated Spence. Now he somehow won decisively against the best fighter since Floyd. Amazing stuff. Makes me wonder if he can handle a Bivol as well.
Munguia will never be elite but he can definitely be a longtime contender and win multiple belts with that workrate. He's young but it's not like he has tons of potential. Low ceiling but he'll be there because he has power and strength. He's gotta stop winging shots though. The top guys would eat him up right now.
True, but even they’re not enough. I don’t see anyone subscribing to HBO at this point strictly for Boxing anymore. They have like one show every other month now.
Yeah but they aren't a boxing channel anyway. They just do a few shows that will still have subscribers just for Canelo and GGG fights. They know their original shows are the real reasons to subscribe so they aren't worried about the boxing piece too much.
Probably not good. He's not as athletic as he was when he was younger and his shape hasn't looked good for years now. He probably spends a lot of time just losing weight for these fights now.
The only way is if Joshua builds up his reputation and status in the States, and another exciting heavyweight emerges. I don't think Wilder can be it unless he starts killing guys in the ring.
This isn't even debatable. I don't think anyone could seriously pick anyone over him. I'd like to know who's even close. Someone like Garcia has too many losses although he actually fights everyone.
Avid fan of Nonito here and given that he was still a murderous puncher at 118, i have hopes for him.
He may not be the same fighter but power is the last thing to go and he is always dangerous.
He'll have the punchers chance, but I think that's about it. He's been fighting at higher weights and looking soft for those fights. I think he really struggles to make weight at this point in his career and probably doesn't have the motivation to do it the right way. Prime Donaire would have been a contender in this tourney.
It's apples and oranges since as everyone else has stated, Loma had a wealth of amateur experience and was 25, but I was looking at his resume again yesterday, and man do you see who he's fought in just 12 fights? There's a couple of p4p and top fighter names in there regardless if they were too small for the weight, past their prime, etc. I don't think you can argue that it's impressive what he's done this quickly in the pros.
The A side brings the money so AJ is clearly the A side for the time being. If Wilder beats Fury he gets closer but still will not be the A side. If Fury beats Wilder, I think AJ is still the A side but not by as much. If Fury wins I think he could get a 50-50 split.
Too dangerous. He was caught so often and clean. Probably was worse that he stayed up the whole time because even more shots were landing on him. His health isn't worth the money and he knows that.
Definitely gets credit from me finally for fighting someone with a pulse in the welterweight division. And how he ended it proves he's elite. Still think a fight with Spence is 50/50 though
What made FLoyd different in your opinion?
Personality and "Money" persona. And the fact that he didn't lose. Adrien Broner could have been as big as Floyd if he kept winning and stopped doing dumb stuff outside the ring
