Elite for sure, always been elite. But, he's vulnerable at times. Primarily due to his mentality. There's no need for him to take some of the punches that he does
Top 2 p4p though, definitely an elite fighter.
Definitely gets credit from me finally for fighting someone with a pulse in the welterweight division. And how he ended it proves he's elite. Still think a fight with Spence is 50/50 though
It was a good stoppage although a little too early but Porter was beating him around the ring. He’s entering Wilder territory where he drops a lot of rounds but has that KO power always there. I can’t see him beating Spence.
I thought it was a weak stoppage in real time but then I saw Shawn stumbling around the ring 30+ seconds after the bell.
In any case, I think the result was pretty much sealed at that point. Crawford was going to finish him either way, and Kenny saved his son from unnecessary punishment.
Sure it was a bad stoppage entertainment wise considering Porter could clearly continue. But simple fact was there was almost no chance Porter was going to win the fight. Porter was fading fast and with two knockdowns and still two rounds to go with Crawford still looking like he has energy, it was almost a guarantee Porter was going to lose outside of a punchers chance. Kenny didn't want to see Porter needlessly take damage. It was more of a realists stoppage. Although you could argue it's somewhat unfair to paying fans. But it is what it is.
Horrible stoppage, also crawford was getting hit alot. First time he fights some real competition and doesn't look like the great so many people thought he was. Hes a good fight but I can't call him a great one.
