If his optimum weight is 135 why doesn't he come in at that weight? Pac came in at 144 for a JMW fight so it's not against the rules. At fight night he'll be withing 2-3 lbs of Manny anyways so he won't be at a disadvantage.

I hear people b1tching about this but I dont understand what the problem is. It was shown in the Pac-Marg fight that you can come in under the minimum for the weight class so if JMM feels better weighing in lighter then so be it. Pac will come in his normal 144-145, JMM can come in whatever the hell he wants under 147 and fight night they will be within 3-4 lbs of each other. Whats the problem??

Victor weighing in at 161 seems pretty big, and to think he was moving up from 140. Berto coming in at 156 lbs seems about right.

Montiel gets up from one of the most hellacious shots thrown at 118 and the ref asks him 3 times to come forward. Montiel stands there and doesn't move forward. The ref wipes his gloves off and says fight... WTF???? Did he want Montiel to get killed in there? Manny took round 12 off and was content in letting Marg finish the fight; Against Cotto he blitz him and tried to end it in round 12. Any idea why there was mercy for Marg and not Cotto?

I checked the Mayweather promotions website and there is no mention of sponsored testing for their stable of fighters. I don't get it wasn't it Floyd's mission to clean up the sport? Why wouldn't he start with his very own promotion. He's spent more money on watches, rings and "making it rain" in the clubs than this would cost. Why hasn't he done it? Floyd Mayweather, Dion Savage, Ouali Said and Jesse Vargas; all fighters under Mayweather promotions and none of them INCLUDING FLOYD do year round true OST testing. Somethings up here, what happened to Floyd's cause to clean up the sport that he loves?

If his intentions really are to clean up the sport he would still be doing random testing in between fights. OST tests throughout the year and not just leading up to an event.

I mean he was beaten by Duran at 147 and then later in his career he moves up to 160 and beats one of the greatest middleweights of all time. He then moves up to Super middleweight and Knocks out the reigning Light heavyweight champion Donny Lalonde. Do you think something strange was going on, how does a former welterweight beat Marvin Hagler and then knock out Lalonde.

I keep hearing that Pac has had multiple catch weight fights (fights outside the standard weight divisions). So far I can only think of one - Cotto. Oscar was at 147 so that doesn't count and I can't think of any others. I didn't think that one would be a big deal since it has happened many times in the past like the JCC - Meldrick Taylor fight. So if anyone can enlighten me to what other fights Pac has had at a catchweight.

We all remember those times, the 2 big promotions wouldn't work together, boxing was at it's lowest point and MMA garnered a foothold in combat sports. Is this the beginning of the new rift between promotions? For the sake of boxing lets hope not.

Since moving up from 130 everyone is wondering how Pac has gained so much power, the truth is that he hasn't. Pac's recent (T)KO's (save Hatton) have come from an accumulation of punches. His opponents have not been able to see, nevertheless time him. Diaz and ODLH have come on record and said that his power was nothing special and that it was his speed that overwhelmed them. Once Miguel got on his bike why in the hell did Pac chase him around instead of cutting off the ring? Wraps or not, once Tony had Cotto hurt it took him maybe about half a round to finish; he knows how to close off your exits and finish an opponent that's constantly backing up. Miguel ran, but this fight should have been in the books by the 7th round. If Manny's footwork and ring generalship isn't corrected by the Mayweather fight, he's going to lose.

Realistically on fight night Manny is going to come in at around 145-147, Cotto is going to come in around 158-160. Instead of the 145 limit would anyone be in favor of a 147 limit with the weigh in 4 hours before the fight?
