I keep hearing that Pac has had multiple catch weight fights (fights outside the standard weight divisions). So far I can only think of one - Cotto. Oscar was at 147 so that doesn't count and I can't think of any others. I didn't think that one would be a big deal since it has happened many times in the past like the JCC - Meldrick Taylor fight. So if anyone can enlighten me to what other fights Pac has had at a catchweight.
The welter weight limit is 147lbs. Why demand a catchweight when essentially the fighters can come in at any weight between 141 and 147lbs?
Maybe you could ask Oscar, JCC, Sugar Ray Leonard or Kelly Pavlik, they did the same thing and didn't get any heat for it.
Of course, it's called bargaining. You ask for more than you want, then when you compromise you get the desired outcome.

What Pacquiao fans insist on forgetting is that Roach first requested Cotto to come in below 145 down to 142-143. Cotto countered that request by letting them know that 145 was the lowest he would go and not any lower.

Manny bet not ever fight at a catch weight again.......
I dont want to see him fight Bradley at 145.........
Foreman at 149.
JMM at 145.
NO THANKS.
So how do you feel about JCC who made sweat pea come down. How about SRL who made 2 bigger opponents come down?
There are none. In boxing if you do something once you get the label forever.
You quit once, you're a quitter. You KO someone to the body once and you're a brutal body punching KO artist. You get KO'd once you have a glass chin. You have one catch-weight fight and you're a catch-weight king. That's how it works apparently.
This is actually very true...
I saw someone post that Floyd thinks he is the commision by asking for extra tests.
Then another guy replied, well Pac thinks he is for asking for catchweights.
I was like lol. Manny didn't invent the damn catch weight. It has happened many times before him
Who said that? What thread was that?
It was actually against Whitaker not Taylor.
But, anybody who says that Manny is the catch-weight king or catch-weight champ, or even saying Mannyweight are a bunch of idiots. Who are just casual or just started following the sport.
Damn, not sure why I wrote Taylor.
