Mercy for Margarito but not Cotto?

pac was carrying cotto since the second half of the fight. he was in full retreat mode. margarito kept coming.

He felt Margarito deserved to go the distance, he was disgusted with Cotto running from the 5th round on so he wanted to make him pay.

As stated before, he did it for Cotto also but Miguel Cotto was moving and not taking the same punishment that the stationary Margarito was taking which is why it was more noticeable.

Manny took round 12 off and was content in letting Marg finish the fight; Against Cotto he blitz him and tried to end it in round 12. Any idea why there was mercy for Marg and not Cotto? if u watched the fight pac was also looking at the ref in the 12th round to make him stop the fight.
