Since moving up from 130 everyone is wondering how Pac has gained so much power, the truth is that he hasn't. Pac's recent (T)KO's (save Hatton) have come from an accumulation of punches. His opponents have not been able to see, nevertheless time him. Diaz and ODLH have come on record and said that his power was nothing special and that it was his speed that overwhelmed them.
It also doesn't hurt that Manny can eat 5 times a day and doesn't have to cut weight anymore. So anyone like Pauli or Sr. who's suspicious of Manny because of his 'Power' is full of shit!
Lets face it Pac has very good power. But of course it is an accumulation of punches. YOu only need to look at the state of the faces of the people he has fought to see. Hatton wasnt marked too much because he was put to sleep pretty fast.
But if you want evidence of someone without much power you only need to look at PBFs victims.
But i dont want Pac to underestimate PBFs power though having said that.
I've always thought Manny was just a heavy handed fighter with blinding speed. Well he is. He won't KO you with just 1 punch(minus Hatton and his early days), but when your getting hit all over the place by a heavy handed, blindling speed, and nonstop thrower. Your gonna get worn the fuk out, not to mention your face isnt' gonna look the same. But yeah I don't feel he's got a sudden steroid boost of power. He just gets to eat whatever to maintain the weight and they say a fighter that fights at his natural weight, is a happy fighter.
How many brutal KOs has Pac had since the Barrera fight? Pretty much all of them are accumulation KOs. He obviously has really good power but nothing earth-shattering.
Off topic but I still think Sugar Ray Leonard would of whooped him pretty good.
Pryor was very good though for sure.
WTF is "would of"??:?!: what does it mean...
Sugar Ray will beat who?...
I was comparing Pryor to Pacman in there.not trying to to compare "against".
So? Why let something that could be so devastating happen, if it's so easy for him to avoid?
All I'm saying is Pacquiao's punches are easier to see when you have a good distance on him, all I'm saying.
True but Marquez didn't see it coming neither. It's weird because the right hook that Pacquiao dropped Cotto with was very short. I admit that Pacquiao is heavy handed, he coud generate alot of power with not much distance to load up.
I noticed that too. When Pacquiao lands on you in a very close proximity like Hatton, Cotto, Marquez he really shows his true power. When he has to lounge like a damn amatuer most of his power wanes.
Marquez was leading the time he got caught in the rematch.

Pacquiao has alot of power, no doubt about it.

JMM outboxed Manny but he went down from a shot that wasn't full power.
Rewatch it and tell me Pac was loading up on that.
That means heavy hands, brotha.

Indeed.
That's more like his reaction punch :)
Similar to the punch that knocked out diaz.
1) Diaz and Oscar
2) His opponents have stated that they could not see his punches coming
For no.1: If it didn't hurt (like KO hurt) according from both fighters, why did Diaz fell? Why did DLH sat?
For no.2: They could have adjusted their game plan from the start of training camp. That is the trainer's responsibility. Their fighters knew what their going into. And we all know what happened to them during those fights.
If all else fails, blame the nutritionist.:hitit:
I can only think of Aaron Pryor's relentless attack on his opponent that is the closest of any boxer I can compare Pacman with.
Pryor is one of my Favourite boxer.
That's why JMM got KD'd 2 or 3 times in the first round by a Manny that probably didn't hit as hard as he does today?
What happened after the 1st round? or in the rematch? In the rematch Marquez got caught coming in but he outboxed Pacquiao for the most part and made Pacquiao miss.
Once you have a good distance (Mayweather, Marquez)...won't be too hard to see the punches coming.

Mayweather's reach advantage is gonna play a really big factor on this fight.
If he can somehow measure manny's punch enough for him to dodge and hit ... he could dominate ... but that is pretty friggin hard to maintain all night.

Yes,so are your punches......Say something with a bit of sense.
When your being timed by Pacquiao like what Hatton did with hands down, lounging forward which only doubles the power, and Pacquiao putting all of his weight like what Steward said before about Pacquiao's punching---it's easy to understand why the guy went down so badly.
