I mean he was beaten by Duran at 147 and then later in his career he moves up to 160 and beats one of the greatest middleweights of all time. He then moves up to Super middleweight and Knocks out the reigning Light heavyweight champion Donny Lalonde.
Do you think something strange was going on, how does a former welterweight beat Marvin Hagler and then knock out Lalonde.
That I didn't know. Why didn't SRL voluntarily take the exams to prove he was innocent?
I don't know.
Assuming he was clean, probably because it wasn't headlining news like Pac-Mayweather.
Yes he did. Emmanuel Steward asked for a steroid test, but the NSAC rejected.
That I didn't know. Why didn't SRL voluntarily take the exams to prove he was innocent and why didn't the commission deam it necessary?
I dont think he moved up 40 pounds over the course of his career and increased his power. I also do not remember Leonard every refusing to take a drug test...
When he was 16 he was fighting at 135. 168-135 = 33 lbs, okay well not 40 but close. He also did knock out Lalonde at 168, how does a guy who fought at 135 knock out the reigning lightheavyweight champion?
Hearns never asked for an independent steroid test for their fights.

Sugar Ray Leonard fought Donny Lalonde in 1988 for the Light Heavy weight title...who by the way weighed the lowest of his entire boxing career at 167lbs!!
can you say, weight drained.
Marvin "Marvelous" Hagler arguably the best middle weight in history, couldn't catch the speedy, craftier, Ray Leonard. But did he ever give Hagler a much sought after rematch????
Sugar Ray Leonard vs Marvin Hagler
was like Oscar De La Hoya vs Felix Trinidad
Only Tito won, and De La hoya knew Tito hit too hard!
Those were one hit wonders. Ray Leonard is one of the greatest Welter Weights in history. Greater than Floyd Mayweather.
Leonard (if I remember correctly) was willing to give Hagler a rematch. But Hagler altogether refused it and quit the sport, because of his disgust towards the decision and what he saw was the politics of boxing coming into play at the time.
You made about as much sense as spelling African, "Afrikan"
:lame:
if you were from Africa you would understand...you just have no clue about the languages spoken here....
how old are you anyway? 21?
lmao..OWNEd...I mean hes really to believe that its spelled the same as it is in America?.. :wow:
I think Floyd is greater though. Really i do but i know it's not a popular opinion. Search a thread about it i made. The point is there.
Sugar Ray Leonard = 28-1 as a Welter Weight
Floyd Mayweather = 7-0 as a Welter Weight
yeah, ok Allucard, so you say Mayweather is a "GREATER" Welter Weight than Sugar Ray Leonard. Don't think so, man.
I will say it again.....Sugar Ray Leonard is one of the greatest Welter Weights in Boxing history! Period!
Come on man you can't compare Mayweather at WW (his 4th division) to SRL at WW. A more fair comparison would be with SRL at SMW or something. I think we need to stop trying to rank these active guys anyway...look at RJJ loads of people have really knocked down their ranking of him in all time lists because of his post HW career.
And you are so right, apokalips. I was responding that "Allucard" said Mayweather was a greater WW than Sugar Ray Leonard, when Floyd only had 7 fights at WW, compared to practically Ray Leonard's entire career at Welter Weight!
Maybe you mean "better", as in ability, speed. But come on....Ray Leonard fought "ALL" the top Welter Weights! Roberto Duran, Thomas Hearns, Wilfredo Benitez, Terry Norris....In those days, 15 rounds!!
Mayweather fights em one a time, doesn't try and Unify. Mayweather has better skills, how can anyone place him above Sugar Ray Leonard is beyond comprehension.
Maybe cause Ray Leonard KO'd Mayweather Senior????

HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA
The contracted weight is 167 :D
well below the Super Middleweight limit. David Diaz is a better win than Lalonde.
If you're insuniating roids then NO. It's dehydrating your opponent.
So Sugar Ray Leonard was a steroid user (according to Hearns), and also a weight drainer. How is he an ATG then?
Leonard went up 21 pounds. Pac went up 41 pounds.
Plus, it is 10x as hard to make that kind of movement in the lower weight divisions than it is in the higher weight divisions.
Chris Byrd went up from 169 to 220, that's 50 lbs.
Fortunately there wasn't any popular crackheads at that time to suggest what Leonard might be taking.
I always thought Leonard was a big guy especially for a welterweight. after he ko'd Tommy he only had 1 more fight at welterweight and a fighter named Willie EDwards KO'd Lalond.
I think Floyd is greater though. Really i do but i know it's not a popular opinion. Search a thread about it i made. The point is there.

I don't think much came out of it.
Here are some articles about it.

I didnt know that. Floyd copied it from Hearns. damn it's not even original.
