But it seems like they are going to be promoters instead of advisor/agents..
No matter how much money you have, their is only true tv money with hbo and showtime.. Their dates are already for the most part owned by gbp/top rank so it's nearly impossible to gain more than one show during the year
I see where you are coming from & agree that it isn't easy getting your foot in the door of this business but to dismiss any change or using the words "no matter how much money you have" in regards to the business world is ignorant.
Nothing stays the same forever; especially in in regards to business.
(Really exhausted the word "business" here)
Smh too many politics nowadays with little action to match.
Glad Roc Nation is shaking **** up & the Cold War between GBP and TR is thawing. A sport without a governing body has no room for a monopoly.
if they can sign kevin durant they could make a major move real soon, who knows they might even help andre ward out his situation and base the company around him.
I was thinking of this the other day.
People who aren't business minded don't accept that money talks & can change almost anything.
I agree they have potential, but they haven't done anything to this point to be proclaimed a force yet,, remember less than 2 years ago 50cent was gonna make waves..
Def already agreed that they're irrelevant as in terms of being on the map at this point but Haymon knows the difference between an experienced enterprise/team & 50 cent.
;14524659']TS trying to gain points for Manny from a Mayweather fight. Styles makes fights he knows that.
True.
But you know who really won? Those Chino supporters who said he would give Floyd work; I couldn't see it, hats off to them.
That's amazing. The cherrypicking, the sparring gloves, I mean Maidana can brawl, has bowling size balls and has improved his boxing, but Floyd was supposed to give him a lesson.
Especially with those sparring gloves, which a lot of people here clearly have no clue what that means because they SO CLEARLY never boxed and got punched wth different type of gloves. With those gloves Floyd should have been able to humiliate Maidana by boxing around him since he took the punchers KO out of the equation, yet still Chino dominated him.
Sparring gloves are like heavy bag gloves; **** some of them are heavy bag gloves. Padded to the tee.
I also thought Floyd would Canelo Maidana
You have it backwards. Floyd is all wrong for Manny. Manny throws punches and leaves himself open. He can't beat a great counter puncher. Marquez is a very good counter puncher, but he's no Mayweather when it comes to counter punching. Also, Mayweather is 100 times the defensive fighter that Marquez is. Mayweather would have an easier time than people think against Manny. Bradley is not the best boxer in the world and gave Manny A LOT of trouble.
Marquez isn't scared to take hits; he'd risk taking a shot to land a brutal one; Floyd isn't wired that way.
Of course Floyd has always been beatable. Its just when he became no1 p4p and overtook the mantle of RJJ, and Barrera and Hamed, Floyd went AWOL as being no1 holds responsibilities, ie facing everyone who calls you out, or you are ordered to fight.
Floyd couldn't live up to expectations, Pac did though. Pac was near unbeatable, not Floyd.
People act like they can't see this.
It's a facade that people are guillible enough to fall for it.
I'd give Matthysse a puncher's chance. He has the stamina to be there late and if Bradley can shake Pac, Matthysse can.
Pac should beat Matthysse comfortably, and I'd expect him to.
This exactly
Maidana would undoubtedly test Manny but I don't see him winning unless via KO. He really shocked me how well he did against Floyd; showed the world his mortality.
did you hear of chris before the ruslan fight?
Actually I did. Not for his boxing but as an accomplished scholar/student; that in turn made me start looking at tape.
Lol, where do you think Wilder's power comes from? It's explosiveness, fast twitch fibers located throughout his entire body. Unless you consistently watch sports like basketball/football, you'll probably have a hard time distinguishing between what explosiveness looks/doesn't look like and who has it.
Footwork, Waist/head movement (Wilder barely got touched today), reflexes, reaction time, swinging your arms, etc. all these things help in boxing.
Throwing has some of the same mechanics as throwing a punch, humans evolved to throw items, not really punches. When a guy has fast twitch muscle fibers they're gonna punch fast, and with that size, it's gonna hit hard.
Stiverne landed 34% of his punches (Though a better output/production, Wilder landed 37% on the more stationary opponent) ..
Your logic is flawed also because Bryant Jennings is a five sport athlete; so does that make him the most athletic heavyweight of all time?
The only thing that's selling this fight is the controversy surrounding the decision of the first one. Does that guarantee 1 million plus ppv? Hell no.
Bradley asking for a lot when he isn't a huge draw in combination of his style being a speed bump sounds about right.
Floyd picks you apart from the shell & Winky breaks you down behind his guard.
This would be one of the most casually unappealing fights of all-time. Honestly can't say who wins for sure.
