He already cleaned out the 168 lb division; he should move up like REAL pound-for-pound fighters have done, i.e. Ray Robinson and Manny Pacquiao.
The word "pound-for-pound" came from when Robinson was constantly fighting and beating the champions in higher weight classes.
I don't view Ward as a P4P guy, especially when there is plenty of challenges out there for him in other weight classes -- Gennady Golovkin at middleweight... Also Sergey Kovalev and Adonis Stevenson at light heavyweight.
Does he think the top dogs at 175 are too big and strong for him? Does he feel that he won't have enough power to keep 175-pounders off him? Wassup??
Ward needs to grow some balls and knuckle up. Stop being scared.
Like how Ward said he'd move up to LHW in 2011? Guess he's still waiting to fight Bute....makes sense right?
LOL @ Bute, don't be ridiculous. You finally found a once top 5 168 pounder who didn't fight with Ward hence wasn't defeated by Ward? Congratulation. I guess you didn't think that serious.
Since 2011 he is sadly inactive, he had just two fights, one of them was actually against the former LHW division kingpin, Chad Dawson who willingly fought Ward at 168 he felt that he can did it but at the end of the day Ward beat him up. Dawson was way more accomplished fighter at that point than Stevenson or Kovalev now, Froch, Kessler also were more accomplished more risky fights back then, than Kovalev and Stevenson now and Ward wasn't scared of them, but he beat them up. So stop this hilarious "duckin" and "scared" BS in the case of Ward! And his other fight was a mandatory challenger in Edwin Rodriguez.
I don't even understand why Ward has even haters? He isn't cocky like Broner or May, he hasn't got scandals like the aboves, he always talk intelligently, picking his words wisely, has normal arguements and opinions + he is a very skilled fighter. His style maybe isn't that exciting for most of the people (but for me it is) but it isn't normal that he get so much hate only because his style...
Maybe he just beat the wrong boxers whom fans still tag him becuse they can't process that he beat their hero easily. Kessler and Froch fanboys mainly.
I also like that nobody mocks Froch cause he doesn't move up to 175 and openly ducks a hipothetically GGG fight and openly doesn't care about a rematch with Ward who beat him easily neither with Dirrell who also beat him in the opinion of most of the people. He wouldn't even give a rematch to Groves just the IBF ordered it (and it was good for him at the endof the day because he beat Groves convincingly second time)
Froch gets pass because he is Froch, the warrior "who would never duck nobody", and anyway he is old, he deserves a big payday etc...
But don't worry in December Ward will be inactive for more than a year so Froch will be the #1 SMW only because Ward's inactivity, not because Ward became worse or Froch got a revenge on him or something like that... :)
I thought Golovkin would fight anybody from 154-168? That sure went away quick.

I don't even care if he fights or doesn't. He's boring to me. He can keep on commentating and getting his ass kicked in court by Goosen for all I care.
Ward is a SMW. Stop pushing him to other weight classes because you feel he is unbeatable at 168. Ward is the best SMW of all time.
That's funny, I remember seeing Ward fans trying to push Gennady to 168 because they feel he is unbeatable at 160.
But I'm not surprised haterism knows no borders. On this board probably someone could explain you that Amir Khan isn't really that fast or Kovalev doesn't punch that powerful or Klitschko isn't that tall.
Welcome to NSB.
Ward is a natural 168 pounder so he should not have to face bigger men fighting 7 pounds over his best weight. He just needs to do a good job of defending his 168 pound world title.
I don't give a f*ck. Let's see a real fight. Ward outboxes both those guys and you know it. Stop defending Ward's ducking. He's scared.
Dude, you have to understand that this is prize fighting...money is literally all that those top guys think about. Once you get to that level, all you think about is getting rewarded for the hard work you put in all your life, not to please some fan sitting on his f***ing couch. Once you accept that, you'll be alright :boxing:
The way he talks big about bringing up lighter fighters to fight him then completely shuts down the interviewer when they ask about 175 suggests he's scared.
He only talked about Glovkin from 160 and just cause GGG's teamstated that they fight anyone from 154 to 168. Ward never stated things like that he said that one time he will go up in weight. And didn't shut down theinterview, he explained that why he doesn't wanna go up right now.
SMW is still a stronger and deepre division than LHW. Who are in LHW? Stevenson is on Showtime + Haymon fighter so it's excluded. So who is left? Kovalev but IMO he will be out of the picture after the Hopkins fight, if not he will be still the only one meaningful challenge for Ward in LHW, nobody else...
But don't worry, if somehow Kovalev will beat Hopkins I think that will catch Ward's interest.

... he dreams to build himself as the "next Floyd"... one cannot fuck other one's dream... eventually...
