2 things:
1) you're underrating paulie's swag. It's what separates him from an Andre Ward (or pretty much any other fighter) who tries to commentate. They're just not interesting and don't know how to handle the spotlight as a commentator.
2) Boxers are dumb a fcvk and most of them can't formulate sentences. It's really sad how bad boxers are at talking. It's a simple yet important skill in commentating. Just pay attention to Roy when he has to talk and he just slips up all the time. You'd think being a commentator for all those years and he'd get a little bit better, but he just doesn't.
To be fair not all boxers are dumb, I think RJJ current state is a result of neurological damage sustained during his career, not inferior intellect. If you hang around enough boxing gyms you'll see a lot of former boxers experiencing the same thing.
I agree with ya homey that RJJ be f**king up a lot and sometimes just plain not making sense because he can't get out of his mouth what it is he exactly wants to say....but you gotta admit, you're biased against Roy because he takes away precious air time for your boy Kellerman
Guys Paulie don't have any more boxing knowledge then any other boxing professional. Paulie just knows how to talk. Of course he knows his **** so does any other boxer with experience.
Damn man finally. B-Scene acts like Paulie is some rare, transcendent, once in a lifetime boxing mind. I mean f**k he's alright but holy sh*t is the dude overrated here as a commentator.
Green k coming your way.
Who would u have in your corner if u were in a fight?
Paulie, I respect his knowledge of the sport, wheras though RJJ was a greater fighter, his knowledge is pedestrian, it was his athleticism that made him great, and his accumulated knowledge and experience would be there in your corner but I would still takes Paulies mind over RJJ's.
I'd take Malignaggi, both have great boxing knowledge but not many are as athletically gifted as Roy so he may not be able to relate to a less talented fighter.
