Not only was Kessler the favorite, Abraham was #2. Ward dominated them both.
Maybe on paper Kessler was, or better yet to the untrained eye he was. I said way back before the Super 6 started that Kessler was overrated. I mean I give the guy props for his limited accomplishments, He was decent. A good solid win over Froch. Lopsided loss to Calzaghe.. Never really impressed me. Before the Tourney I had Ward winning it undefeated. Just my opinion on seeing him come up the ranks on Showtime. Forget the level of opposition he fought before the super 6, It's the Way he made it look when he won. I knew he would be a star.
So even though he won a gold medal, hasn't lost since he was 12, and leading up to the Super 6 DOMINATED everybody he fought, him being a rookie he was still considered an underdog? He went through Kessler like I knew he would, beat his substitutes just as easily, dominated Abraham in an easy fight, and Dominated Froch in an easy fight that I thought the scorecards were crooked.
Idk, Either way Dawson is a way more credible win than Kessler or Froch. Even at 168.. If Ward does it impressively, I could put him at an easy number 2. just my opinion
Froch is a confidence fighter. And honestly I dont think he was confident he could win against Ward in the Finals. **** the "Warrior Mentality" everyone claims he has. He's a fighter that doubted himself against Ward.. Dont get me wrong a big return win against undefeated Bute and if he can avenge his first loss to Kessler next, I have no doubt he'll have the confidence it takes to beat Ward. But even having the Confidence and the crowd backing your every punch doesnt mean you'll win... That's how good Ward is. The rematch will be closer but I cant see Froch winning unless its by KO or Robbery...
I want to believe he is. But he needs some 10 10 ranked contenders on his resume. He's young and strong. If he dont start fighting "worthy" Boxers, he'll be nothing more than a Red Head, Chavez JR
Classless? No. I won't dig into it that much because to me it's not a big deal and really isn't my business either. I did think it was pretty funny however. But pulling Stunts like these after every fight, Broner is Promoting himself GREATLY. Because like him or hate him, he's making a name for himself. And HBO loves him. He can fight his ass off. He more than likely won't be challenged till 140. HBO wants to turn him into a PPV attraction. Mark my words, Broner will be a PPV star by later next year or early 2014. :boxing:
Now mind you before the fight I picked Pacquiao by TKO. I made one bet a couple Months ago that Bradley would win. And now I almost feel bad taking somebody's money. Because that was a clear robbery. Bob Arum at his best!
He should but he wont. Not yet anyway. Bob Arum is smart. When He told Tim Bradley "As Long as you finish on your feet then your winning", He already knew Pacquiao would sign on for an even bigger rematch before Pacquiao knows how corrupt his ass is and leaves him. Buying the rematch is only feeding Arums Corruption
I think vegas insiders and gamblers had a big influence too
Wouldnt be surprised if judges had side bets on fight
Oh definitely. Boxing is Corrupt. Because Most people bought into the hype that Bradley had a shot. I think most of the Big Whigs in Boxing Were surprised in how easy Pacman made it look but there was so much money on the line, no choice
People don't believe that Bob Arum is a modern day gangster and does whatever he pleases.. Pacquiao is stupid for not leaving him.
Another possibility is that I don't believe going into the fight that Bob Arum had too much faith in Pacquiao winning with all the Bradley hype and all this Pacquiao is distracted bull**** going on.. Him and alot of "Rich Friends" bet on the 5-1 underdog and he made sure they were right..
Bottom Line. Then he tries to act as surprised as we are.. Come on now Arum. They're not going to rob your best fighter unless you were involved..

Bob Arum set this whole fight up the moment Mike Jones Lost.. What he doesn't understand is he might have killed the Sport
I believe there were ALOT of close rounds. That being said I did score one round an even 10-10. And with the knockdown that means I had it a draw. But very close and could have went either way. Alvarez surprised me alot with his ring generalship and head movement. The rounds that I gave to Trout was because of his punch output. Alvarez DID land the harder and more telling blows but I felt he got lazy and gave some rounds away since he knew he was ahead. Either way it was a good scrap and I wouldnt mind seeing it again in Vegas or New York possibly.
* I had money on Alvarez, but i'm a fan of both and stil had it a draw.
I mean until I see proof I don't believe it to be true. It's kinda the same deal as with Pacquiao. When you got fighters that dominate so much and steal the spot light, their obviously going to attract all sorts of Haters.. Then they get in the ring with them and get knocked out like the rest of them. I think its a poor excuse for someone to get their 15 minutes of fame by discrediting someone that's accomplished more than they even did their own dreams
Haye's overrated and I think there's alot of top contenders who can beat him. Povetkin especially. Not saying Povetkin is a clear number 3 to the klitschkos but Haye definitely isn't either
It's all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Very true.
I just think that more damage was done as a result of this decision.
And even though I won't be paying for the rematch i'm intrigued to see Manny KO Bradley as i'm sure many are.
I personally think the moment Mike Jones was Knocked out is when Arum made up his mind to give Bradley the victory. And obviously a rematch would do wayy bigger numbers than a potential fight with Mike Jones if he did win. But at what cost? Cuz I know i'll never pay for a PPV again until Mayweather and Pacman get it on. Lol but now we gotta wait even longer now. That's boxing for ya :boxing:
See i'm a Manny fan but I lost so much money betting against him in the past its crazy. My official pick was Manny by TKO. I did make 1 bet this fight though. And it was for Bradley. After watching Last night, I almost feel bad about taking my boy's money. Bradley lost Clearly. And yeah I guess we can't justify corruption. It's just I thought we were on a good track to bringing boxing back to life. Alot of people didnt give Manny a shot. But even more people picked him to win. After his performance though, Everyone questioned why we doubted him.
And yeah i'm sure the corruption will never die. And the fight was alot closer than fights like Rios/Abril or Campillo/Cloud or Kirkland/Molina. But hands down this is the biggest High Profile Robbery in years..
It wasn't a complete shutout for Manny, no. But it was decisive enough where you can't debate. It wasn't no Manny/JMM close or Williams/Martinez close. Those fights there were debates, to the point where if it went the other way there would be no where near this much controversy.
Arum took a gamble and messed up. BIG.
How Can You Justify Corruption??
How?
I don't care if your a Floyd Fan or a Manny Hater, but after watching Timothy Bradley Get beat up last night, which the whole damn world agrees with, how can you possibly justify this corruption?
I actually see alot of people trying to Justify The Judge's scores like they were right.. How?
I didn't agree with Lederman or the HBO crew that it was a complete shut out, no. But by no means was it a Split decision. Even if it were in Manny's favor..
Yes Compubox doesn't prove ****, but seeing is believing. And a Blind Man could have told you who won that fight.
Bob Arum proved how much power he has left in boxing last night. And proved why Boxing is still the most Corrupt sport in the world. After last night in such a high profile he robbed the true winner on the gamble that the rematch will be a bigger success..
Business wise that might be smart. But that's not why Boxing Fan's buy these PPV fights. Like someone told me earlier. Boxing is becoming WWE. Arum know's the rematch is going to be on everyone's mind now. Even if you declared your never watching again. But whether you pay for the rematch or just catch a free stream the hype is gonna be there all the way till November 11th..
Now I can understand Some people might dislike Manny Pacquiao, and 9 times out of 10 when you dislike a fighter, You judge their fights with pure Bias.. Not always though. And yes I know Manny been involved with some controversy of his own in past fights. But atleast JMM was debatable to anyone who saw it. Last Nite wasn't even close..
And to the people that are literally trying to justify the judge's Scorecards by giving Timmy 7 rounds are retarded. Yes it was alot closer fight than HBO saw. Last Night I thought the first 3 were a toss up as were the last. There were ALOT of close rounds. After rewatching it twice today, I gave Timmy 4 rounds at best. They were the 2nd and the last 3.. Manny did slow down in the end, so the activity between the both wasn't enough to decide a clear winner. So I still believe the last 3 were a toss up.
It doesn't matter though. Boxing lost alot of fans last night because Bob Arum decided to take a gamble.. So even if there is a rematch. I pick Manny by brutal KO, and I hope the ppv gets no sales at all. Because i'll be watching the Streams from now on!! Boxing is dead :skull:
We can improve boxing when old corrupt ass gangsters like Bob Arum and Don King and Jose Sulimon retire.. They ARE the key reason boxing is corrupt. The old Guys just gotta retire. The only way. That and every single judge that's been associated with a robbery should be fired as well
I want Cotto to win and I do believe 2 years ago he'd knock Foreman out. And even now I think Cotto is by far Foreman's toughest test. But he was an underdog against Daniel Santos who at the time was the number 1 at 154 and he schooled Santos.. So i'm gonna say Foreman by UD
I think Floyd Deserves it but at the same time Pacman earned it wen Floyd retired. I think a dominant win over Mosley showed who's more skilled so Idc who they got ranked # 1. We all kno the truth
I always assumed p4p was based more off of a fighters skills and not his accomplishments. Perfect example is Chad Dawson, he's rank 8 p4p. But what the hell has he done beside fight old man after old man and only relinquishes his title belt? I personally think he got the rank because he's easily the most skilled LHW even tho he hasn't done much.
Pacman only recently accomplished more titles at more weights than Floyd. Yet Mayweather was an undefeated Olympic Champion since 1999. And up until he retired he was number 1 p4p.
He retired, Pacman Jumped liked 15 weight classes and fought the "Biggest" names at the weights. Well since Floyd retired, Pacman number 1 by default now regardless who he fought. Just so happens he fights oppenents Floyd already beat. But he did prove himself against Cotto..
So now Pacman beat every1 and is easily miles above anybody else on the list and solidifies his spot. But Floyd comes back, beats the p4p number 2 and arguably the last man to beat Pacman and claims the number 2 spot. Which I agree with since Pacman eaned his spot while Floyd was gone.
But I personally think they are both neck n neck for the 1st place spot. Ring Magazine jus isnt trying to be ****ed up n Take Pacman's title that he earned and he just keep winning anyway. But now that Floyd is fighting another p4p his actual weight class, I think that if he wins atleast by a good UD that he take's Pacman's spot.. And The only way Pacman can get it back is if he beats Mayweather or Pwill.
I mean if I had Bill Gates type money then No I wouldnt. lol but i'm broke so I wouldnt hesitate to take a damn blood test. I'd even let Floyd beat me up in front of the world for that type money...
If Pacman dont fight Floyd regardless the reason, people are gonna remember him in the next 10 years as the man who ducked a possibility of the Biggest fight in Boxing history.
