After reviewing the posts of last night's disaster, the question of "Why?" is predominantly answered by blaming it on Bob Arum. I don't particularly agree with this. Did Arum fix the fight, and why?
Floyd would UD Pacman everyday of the week, I thought the competitive myth was busted years ago :dunno:
In your dreams. If that were true, Floyd would have fought Pac years ago. lol Prime Pac could destroy Floyd and he knows it. But, let's not digress: the issue is why the robbery last night? Why is boxing trying to take the air out of a potential Pac v Floyd fight??
Do you really believe that Arum would let Pacquiao face Mayweather? I'm sure he and his match makers have agreed internally that it isn't a good fight for Manny and specifically for top Rank. With Manny instead losing to a top Rank fighter, Arum gets to still control both the winner and loser, keeping all money in-house as he has done throughout Manny's career.
Ok. This is where we disagree. If I were Arum I would be screaming for a match with Mayweather while Pac still on top of his game. It's a great fight for Mannie. It's a bad fight for Floyd.
So...take it from there....
Avoid having to deal with a Mayweather negotiation that Arum very clearly wants no part of. Keep it all in house again with the rematch. In a perfect world Manny would go straight for a Mayweather fight and/or retire. No point in fighting Bradley again but unfortunately it's going to happen.
Why would Arum wanna kill the hype surrounding a Floyd v Pac fight? Doesn't make sense. There's where the big money is.
How does it kill the hype when everyone agrees Pacquiao won and won easily?
Except that it is Bradley who is laughing today....good day for him I'd presume.
nah, i dont really think so, i real man wouldnt be happy about it. especially if he watches the tape again like he said.. he would be embarass in my opinion.. "especially with the "im ready for war baby thing he was saying"
I agree boxing was hurt, but how does Arum gain from this?
Are you that ignorant? I'm not trying to be mean, but if you don't see how Arum getting Pacquiao-Bradley 2 and also not having to throw Pac in with Mayweather benefits Arum, then I don't know what to tell you.
Pacquiao's reputation isn't tarnished at all because everyone saw him win. Now he gets all the money from Bradley-Pacquiao 2 to stay in house AND doesn't have to see his fighter lose to Floyd.
Wake the **** up, dude.
Why would Arum sacrifice his biggest cash cow (Pac) when it would make a potential Pac v Floyd fight less profitable?

he is suspected to be the one blocking this fight to happen okayyy. cmon man..
yeah he really hoped it was closer but wasnt.. i was really laughing at bradley the entire fight because of his prefight hype. damn, sad day for boxing..

In the rematch Manny destroys Tiim in three building up hype. Watching the fight I could see Manny pulling off the gas pedal after stunning Tim. He didn't close like he normally does. Manny was involved in the fix as well.

we dont really know exactly.. People are saying that he wants pacquiao to avoid floyd.
people are saying to remove the pressure off him from the floyd fight.
people are saying to keep the fights in house, pac is still pac, and he didnt lose any luster during that fight and the fans will still support him.
people are saying he wants bradley to be his next star and pacs time is up.
people are saying he just created a rivalry, and a rematch would bring him more money.
We dont really know exactly... but maybe one those reasons is the truth..
Sure he did. Pac is getting ready to retire and everyone wants to see Pac fight Mayweather but that isn't going to happen. Pac has Arum investigated and is talking about leaving him.
Arum gets Pac to lose and then he doesn't have the pressure of the Floyd fight over his shoulder, he has a rematch between two in house fighters, and he can send Pac off into the sunset and pickup right where he left off with Bradley.
Look at what this does:
Rematch in November
Marquez 4, Rios or Cotto in May
Marquez 4, Rios or Cotto in November
Marquez 3, Rios or Cotto in May 2014
He's already got Manny's lineup in place through 2014 assuming all the opponents hold up their end of the bargain. All will be big money fights.
In addition, he essentially KILLED the hype surrounding a Mayweather/Pacquiao bout and while doing so, removed the pressure off him.

REMATCH = mo money. Plus Bradley seems to be a very marketable person who could be a potential money maker for Arum had the fight not been so obviously rigged.
Not to flame homie but I don't see how Bradley can be considered marketable especially considering he really just recently headlined main events shows on HBO.
Couple this with the fact that he really doesn't have a mass following to begin with thus no PPV numbers (before Pac) to substantiate this claim to his marketability.
I personally think we all lose with this travesty of a decision marketability or not.

Bob Arum set this whole fight up the moment Mike Jones Lost.. What he doesn't understand is he might have killed the Sport
