Cotto would not of lasted 11 rounds if Margarito had plaster of paris in his gloves.
Margarito's pressure, power and workrate is what beat Cotto, nothing else.
Most of Margarito's punches in the beginning were to the body, then he picked it up and hit his face. Margarito wasn't using all the power, he wasn't putting weight on his punches. if he did it would become more obvious. If he send cotto tot he hospital early than it would become suspicious.
But then after Maragrito was beihnd the trainer kept telling him- what are you waiting for. then he used more of the power of the plaster. look at the fight watch Margarito throw those weak punches to the body. really watch it. Its quite clear.

Right. Why would someone use old gauze when they're new ones always available? I mean if I was a clean fighter I would always use new clean gauze for my handwraps. Using an older gauze would be almost like using your yesterdays socks.
Hey Larrx , Floyd is not really a confident fighter is he ? i mean some people act confident and some people are confident, but Floyd reminds me of a guy that is not naturally confident. I think thats why he steps aways from challenges, because he does not have full confidence in himself, although he has great enough ability to be as confident as anyone. I mean see how pensive Floyd was when he stepped into the ring against Hatton? he looked like the occasion was too big for him and when the fight started they were telling him to relax. See how relieved Floyd was when he won?
Vic Darchinyan is naturally confident. Naseem Hamed WAS naturally confident, i dont believe Floyd is.

I havn't seen a boxer name every opponent thats out there to fight. did Margarito wanted to fight willliams again? did De la hoya wanted to fight Margarito? Did Floyd wanted to fight Margarito, De La hoya, or Cotto? The answer is no.
Both Cintron & Clottey were also basically undefeated but all you guys are talking about is the Cotto fight. Thats not fair. I made a thread a week ago saying how the #1 thing I keep thinking about is when Margarito dropped Cintron with that body shot and then was badly taunting him by waving his arms for Cintron to get up. Then after the fight is stopped he immediatly runs over to Arum and begs him for the Cotto fight like he would kill him. I felt that was the biggest bitch move of all time if its true that he cheated. Talking smack like he really did something when he had bricks in his hands the whole time. There is no way your going to convince me that he didnt have something in his gloves against Cintron either.
After Margarito beat Cotto I made a thread saying how I think Margarito's chin is overrated because even though he's facing big punchers, none of them are comminting to the punch like they normaly do because there scared of his return fire. If he doesnt have that same power then those guys are fighting toe to toe alot more and those punches would then start to add up on Tony. Instead of punching going backwards, they would be digging in shots like Mosley did. I just feel like Cintron's big power shots may have gotten to Tony also if he didnt have the fear of Tony's power coming back. The same goes for Clottey. Clottey is so superior in talent to him otherwise.
Another guy that no one is talking about is Williams. Why not talk about him? Because he won? Dont forget that it was a close fight that Williams took alot of punishment in the later rounds and maybe its not a coincedence that he lost his next fight. There were even a thousand threads on here saying that Williams lost to Quinatana because Margarito took it out of him. That may actually be true. It may have took him a fight to recover from those plaster shots and then he killed Quinatana in the rematch. My whole point is that we cant just keep talking about Cotto just because he was the golden boy when these other fighters havent really lost to anyone else either. Cotto was a beast but its not like Margarito was a total scrub before that fight so I just dont buy that he would suddenly use the plaster for Cotto and not for his previous fights. I even think he had it when he killed Golden Johnson. Those shots didnt even seem that hard and it was only the 1st round but Johnson collapsed like he got hit by Tyson. All that in the 1st round from a guy who isnt a 1 punch KO artist?

If anyone had loaded gloves you dont have to use all your strength to knock out a guy. So it worked both ways. Cotto was getting more tiring, Margarito wasn't. Cotto would have jumped on his ass more if he felt Margarito wasn't that strong of a puncher.

there was old blood stain from either his last fight with Cotto or it got even smellier if he used it from a fight one year ago. Capetillo said in the hearing he made a mistake. While he had said before that he had prepared the gauze two weeks before the fight. and Antonio didn't see the blood stains? Maybe he was paying attention incase anyone came by so they wouldn't get caught.
Who has Mayweather really beaten? All his biggest opponets came from loses or were washed up. Mitchell, Gatti. Castillo was knockout 4 times before and he still beat Floyd.
Many other fighters had fought more undefeated opponnets and more top boxers than he has. This threads shows everthing about floyd. He really should never have been called the best P4P fighter. He beat a bunch of washed-up fighters. He's nothing.
Holding should not be allowed at all. I would like to see guys who hold as a method of staying in the fight be DQ'd after only one warning to set a standard...if someone is holding which is cheating they should get hit it is no question...but at the end of the day the guy holding should be DQ'd at once.
Mayeather likes to hold fighters arms so does Hopkins and others. They hold their opponents hand preventing them to get counter punch. Boxing is boxing and not wrestling. I've seen these guys doing some excessive holding. If every boxer starts to do this i'll bet they'll change the rules. Thats an advantage for dirty boxers.
WHAT WE KNOW... The old bloody spot found on the wrap means the "thing" was used previously. Agaisnt whom??? That is the quetion. The plaster also hurts the fighter wearing it. The blood stain had to be Margarito's AND from a previous fight. Some speculate it was used during a sparring session, I doubt it. It doesn't make sense.
Capetillo knew about the wrap, period. Tony did not throw a punch with the wrap before his hands were wrapped that night before he fought Mosley. Much less, the wraps did not last long enough for Tony to throw punches with them. It's not only that they were cought cheating that night, but the bloody stain is evidence that the "thing" was used previouslyto the Mosley fight.

they calling him out not just for the money,but because he was known as the best pound for pound fighter. So who ever beats him will be seen as one of the top 3 fighters and perhaps the the best pound for pound fighter. Though I never thought he beat enough big name fighters to earn that name.
Hey guys, thats not so bad, because of his actions he will know that you can,t get away with that bullshit...so i say regroup and return in a year and be ready to appologize for his actions and convince them that hes ready to fight again...and for all the people out there that says that he loaded his gloves when he fought against other fighters, who knows??? They would have stomped a mud hole in his ass if he didn't had plaster. If a fighter can punch hard that makes you retreat, but once you dont fear his punch you can continue to punch him till he falls.
Plus you get more stamina if your opponent doesn't weaken you down by hitting you with loaded punches to the body. Margarito would also had more stamina if he didn't have to put all his weight on his punches in order to hurt his oppnents. So he throws weak shots yet stills hurts his opponent. The more effort you put on the more tire you get.
Floyd always waiting on fighters to throw first so he can counter punch them and likes hitting guys when they dont expect it coming. You have to be patient at times vs floyd and keep a distance from him if you're not planning on hitting him, because then he might just go on offense. Lots of fakes good timing is a key.
You have to also make him come foward by stopping the action, but its basicly smarts is what beats him because he fights for points and runs. He also likes throwing a right hand than jumping on to grap you. Same tactic also used by Hopkins. But floyd isn't as fast now and isn't that big of a puncher, but he does know how to finish a guy off if he hurts him. So its import to be aware of his slicky shots.
Williams is a old school fighter, he will fight anyone.

I like to see him this eager to fight anyone if big men like Roy Jones or Hopkins were in their prime. He's a big dude with a very long reach advantage. I like to see him fight Dawson if he gets by Pavlik.
Yeah if floyd comes back is just cause he saw an oppnening to fight smaller fighters like Marguez and Pacquiao. He wants nothing to do with Mosley, Cotto, Berto or any of the real big boys.
He's too afraid to fight them. He wants little Pacman or little Ricky Hatton. Mosley is right there waiting. If he thought he could beat him he would have faced him already.
