Anyone read the article on boxinscene's ex-sister site. In it it says that off all the poeple who testified only one said it was "plaster like." The author of the article also stated he felt the wrap and is wasn't that hard either. He said it was stiff but not hard. They also ruled that even if it comes back that there was nothing on the gauze he would still have his liscense revoked. Thats sucks, basically there was no point to the hearing because they had already made up their minds. I hope Tony fights in Texas from now on. Texas will give him his liscense.
My bad on the typo.....
I suppose its possible but it doesnt seem likely to me that the trainer would just stick it in there without him knowing. Just doesnt add up to me.
Yeah, it is VERY possible that Toni had NO idea... but I'm with you bro. It doesn't add up to me. You would think Toni would wonder "Why do you always go off by yourself to prepare my knuckle pads?" I think I'm building up the reputation of a Margarito fanatic. Thats not it at all. I'm not looking for absurd ways to prove his innocene. My only goal is to combat ignorance. Today, I present a counter argument.... tomorrow, I may deliver some books to underpriviledge children. Who knows? The goal is to teach people to think.
There is more than one way to skin a cat, and more than one way to wrap a hand. Most of the times, and I'm no expert, but I've had my own hands wrapped and have seen it done many times during my brief and pathetic attempt at promotion. The knuckle pads are supposed to be crosslayers of gause, anywhere from 10, 15, maybe 25 thick, depending on what you want and what you can get away with. Those pads can be made right in front of you as your watching, or the trainer can make them an hour before, a day before... hell, he can make them before his fighter is born. I know you've seen gauze rolled up before they are used. Its a big puff of sterile cotton. If I walked in with two puffs of white cotton and called them knuckle pads, and said "I'm going to put these on your hands", you wouldn't know if it was cotton all the way through, if I had a chunk of moist gauze in the middle (which right now is all the Margarito camp is guilty of), if I had Jelly Beans wrapped up in their, if I had a used condome wrapped up in there... the point is, you would see a layers of white gauze.
I'm only saying its possible that Margarito didn't know. If you're naive enought to believe my scenario is the ONLY possibility, you're a damn fool. If you believe my scenario is not entirely possible... you're an even bigger fool and a waiste of oxygen.
Good post.
All I know is when everybody gets their hands wrapped, they know what's in them," Cotto said. "They know if there's something in their hand wraps or not. As a fighter, you know if there's something in there
how would cotto know? has he loaded his gloves before?

You aren't following me... "Zaazim" as you call him, only claimed he noticed the knuckle pads were a little higher than normal. They began unwrapping the hands that the packed gauze fell out. Im saying that the "hard substance" was hidden inside the knuckle pads before they were placed on Toni's hands. EVERY fighter wears knuckle pads... all it is is a bunch of gauze you put over the top of the knuckles, and then put the tape over the gauze and pads. It just so happens that beneath the layers of gauze in his knuckle pads, there were hardened gauze. Thats why I said that if Toni's trainer walked in with two knuckle pads (chunks of gauze), Toni would not have known if it was 100% gauze or loaded... he would have just seen GAUZE

It was something new Capetillo came up with. A new invention. Still it was said to be hard and firm. It would've gotten harder if he actually use it during the fight. the sweat would made it get even harder.
Yeah thats why when Zaazim said he wanted to check the wraps they did and shit fell out. Then they cut the other hand wraps OFF HIS OTHER hand and shit fell out.
It was ON his hand Bro.

Che Guevara said that the hardened wraps were inside knuckle pads that were to be placed on both hands
Meaning, they were prepared before they were ever placed on Toni's hands. All Toni would have seen was a fat little roll of gauze, making up his knuckle pads. Now, if his trainer had said "Toni, I'm going to prepare loaded knuckle pads tonight so that you will be ready tomorrow".... then there is no excuse. Did Toni know? Probably. Is it possible that he didn't? Very... If I took a shit inside a Snickers wrapper and gave it to you to put in storage. You wouldn't know it was shit unless you opened it up to inspect it yourself.

So they did the exact same thing, you're the smart one of the bunch arn't you..
In the hearing its already been reported that only 1 our of a few people said it was plaster the others said it wasn't a hard substance.
The only people who said it wasn't a hard sunstance are top rank people. But the people who matter the most said it was a hard substance with a white coating smeared across. If it turns out to be plaster in March you will still come up with your biased and ignorant excuses.
They were on his hands. Jesus.

Im sure fathers do good for the son, more times then not and not once tell there son. Im sure you've read where a person at the Commision hearing states that the padding was not "hard."
Bullshit. He said it WAS hard. Not "concrete" hard but hard.
Why is Tony being held accountable for an action that he had no part in?
I don't think any boxer judges how his coach is wrapping his hands.
They were on his hands. Jesus.
If they case is now that Tony's wraps weren't fully legal, and not that he had plaster what's the difference between he and Trinidad? I only bring up Trinidad because he was caught before, like Tony yet didn't get suspended or have his liscense revoked.
They had Trindad rewrap his hands because they were WRAPPED wrong. HE DIDNT HAVE ILLEGAL SHIT INSIDE OF THEM!!!
Thats the difference.
If Tony didnt have illegal shit in there they wouldnt be any problems. Or if they were wrapped wrong they would have just had him rewrap them, same thing at Trinidad.
The difference between Tony and Felix is that Tony had illegal pads in his gloves, and thats a BIIIIIIG difference.
Are you trying to find ANYTHING to cling onto or what?
Dude nathan i think your wrong.
this Should be discussed here.
i think theirs still room to change some ney- sayers
minds that are having a hard time getting over it.
margarito got banned. he got punished.
he's got to live with a cloud hanging over him.
its over.
No, I'm on your side. I'm not trying to absolve Toni of any misdoings... I'm just saying... who do we think we are to pass judgement. Our only connection to what is going on in this scandal is what we read on the internet. We JUST DON'T KNOW one way or the other. I was only saying that you are beating against a brick wall on this site. People will move heaven and earth, really making stretches to make Toni guilty. However, they pass right over any well thought counter-arguments that maybe he is not to blame afterall. I'm with you 100% but you aren't exactly dealing with the brightes stars in the sky on this site. Some people are really intelligent and willing to consider both sides... but most, have made up their mind... and given the size of their brains, its a very easy thing for them to do.
where does the gauze go then?
good point... but that gauze isnt supposed to be old, used, and wet...
anyways... capetillo already admitted what he did was wrong
