Did Margarito Cheat against Cotto? Official Poll!

First no one said he cheated in ALL his fights. 1) let me clarify: in order to make an inductive strong argument that margo cheated in the cotto fight you must prove that he cheated before the cotto fight (no evidence) as well as after the cotto fight (the mosley fight). you can only prove that margo cheated after the cotto fight but not before. hence you fail. 2) Secondly, YOU STATED and brought up the Sparring session and stated that he "...so it could be a pad from sparring with rashad..." The blood on the pad means that the pad WAS used before. Unless your saying the pad was his wifes Cotex pad. right, the pad (possibly) WAS used before (in sparring). the bloodstain could be from sparring or it could be from the cotto fight. there is no proof or testimony from the cotto fight, BUT there is testimony from rashad that the pad may have been used in sparring. the bloodstain itself does not prove that the pad was used in the cotto fight because it could've been used in sparring before the Mosley fight. Can anyone PROVE he used it in any other fights.....NO. Could anyone PROVE that Luis Resto loaded his gloves in previous fights....NO, but guess what he did. I don't know the specifics of the of the Luis Resto fight, but from what I understand, panama lewis only loaded Resto's gloves against Collins. but that still doesn't prove that margo cheated against cotto

The strength of the case with Mosley and the additional information surrounding the two respective situations(Cotto & Mosley) is more than enough to draw the conclusion that Margarito cheated. Specific cases does not exclusively mean instances in which Margarito was caught cheating. You can use all the clever logic in the world but everything points to YES he did cheat against Cotto. If you don't think that's the case that is also fair, but for you to say that it is impossible to believe Margarito cheated is incorrect. You have proven nothing. You have an elaborate post written under a poll in which 80% of voters completely disagree with you. I think you need to start from scratch and try again. 1) public opinion doesn't make something true. 2) there is no information/evidence from the cotto fight to draw the conclusion that margo cheated against cotto. 3) you can't make general assumptions based on 1 specific case. 4) I never said it was impossible to believe Margarito cheated against cotto, it's possible, but there is no evidence to prove it 5) I don;t have to prove anything... the burden of proof is with the accuser (ie. you)

It will be near impossible to convict him of anything legally regarding the Cotto fight. However, as per this poll and most of the boxing world he has been convincted in the court of public opinion. In boxing that means a lot since members of the boxing world so frequently have to work together and since a great deal of his body of work is now thrown into question. So, regardless of ever actually being held accountable for the Cotto fight he will suffer pretty brutal consequences b/c the great deal of doubt surrounding it. you are correct, in the court of public opinion (or the mob) margarito is thought to have cheated against cotto, but in truth it cannot be proven.

that's possible, but halloway accused margo of using the pads in sparring, so it could be a pad from sparring with rashad and not a pad used in the cotto fight. truthfully no one can know for sure It doesn't make sense. Capetillo knew about the wrap, period. Tony did not throw a punch before his hands were wrapped that night before he fought Mosley. It's not only that they were cought cheating that night, but the bloody stain is evidence that the "thing" was used previously and I don't believe it was used while sparring. Tony cheated. PLAIN and BASIC COMMON SENSE.

I already did this thread a couple weeks ago back before it came out that the substance was illegal. Now that it seems Margarito will be suspended and Margarito's trainer has admitted to foul play.. We can all vote with some solid information. Who thinks Margarito cheated against Cotto? Remember Margarito came into the fight with Mosley as a heavy favorite and came into the fight with Cotto as an underdog.
